express.co.uk has declared a fake news media war on Cryptocurrency and they're being helped by Google. Their very negative and fake news stories are being ranked at the top of cryptocurrency news searches on Google. Such stories include the following headlines:

"Bitcoin and Ethereum plummet as South Korea decides on total crypto shutdown" Obviously this is fake as South Korea has simply decided to regulate the exchanges for tax purposes. The story came after SK made this point clear.

Headline: "Is bitcoin a good investment? Weiss Cryptocurrency Ratings give bitcoin poor score" Again false. The score Bitcoin was C+ which is not considered poor. According to Weiss grading scale, a C avg is "average based on its track record and current valuation. Thus, we feel it is neither a significantly better nor a significantly worse investment than most other common stocks"

Headline:"Bitcoin price THREAT: This is why North Korea poses a HUGE risk to cryptocurrency"

Headline: "Bitcoin price WARNING: Governments to END cryptocurrency to stop 'CROOKS' spreading crime"

Just an all-around very bad headline with obvious bias and hatred towards the crypto community.

It is not out of the ordinary to see negative false news on cryptocurrency but this FUD is being optimized in the Google searches and thus we the community of cryptocurrency need to stand against this and voice our displeasure for such trash journalism. Protect your investment. Contact them using the info below. This matters more than you think! Tell them to fix their act and stop spreading false news. We the people had enough of the bankers and their friends!!!

The whole purpose of crypto is decentralizion! Let's get back on track!

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 10:48 AM PST

Lets move away from the corporate giants!

People keep getting caught up in the day to day about what coin is "the best", but what it really comes down to should be, "what crypto is the most decentralized" and what coin can be most well utilized as a means of payment.

The whole purpose of crypto is decentralizion. Getting away from the corporate structure of Visa, MasterCard, and the PayPals who take a huge percentage of all sales and charge exorbitant fees to consumers is what the focus of crypto should be on.

Let's not fall into the trap of thinking payment systems should be allowed to take 3% of every sale, and let's get meaningful developers setting up free open source software that is competitive with these corporate giants. We don't need centralization as a community. What we need is to keep the theory of decentralizion growing and spreading to more individuals. Let's stop paying these corporations who are outdated and steal from the people, and instead let's pay the fees to the people (the miners)--that should be everyone's focus.

Buddy was going to buy beer and wanted some bones, yet I had only a hundred on me. I opted to send him LTC. He has not bought any crypto before but had a Coinbase account. my other buddy watching this, then tried his best to get me to send him LTC. (for the novelty) I told him to get his own money. Now they are both hooked and they have been brought into the future.

This is the market I believe we should target. Whoever the lead marketer is needs to organize meetups to educate people on how to use LTC. We need a locallitecoin site to assist the receivers of remittance payments on how to convert back to fiat until LTC is accepted locally.

How to monitor LTC Full Node?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 07:25 AM PST

I just installed a Litecoin Full Node on a Rackspace VM and I wanted to figure out how I can monitor it's availability and performance. I came across https://github.com/jlopp/statoshi which provides a way to monitor Bitcoin nodes but I haven't seen anything for Litecoin.

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Initial Thoughts on Robinhood Crypto

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 07:53 AM PST

Applied for an account yesterday at 9:00pm based on widely posted news for crypto trading and my application was accepted overnight, about 1:00 in the morning. Pleasant surprise.

My intent for the account is an alternate to my Coinbase account. Not a hit on Coinbase, I just want more than one onramp and outlet.

Two issues I can foresee impacting our little but growing community are:

    1. As things stand with Robinhood basic/free accounts now, HODLers like myself are not able to send coins offsite either as a means of payment or, in my case, to my Trezor for cold storage. You may apply for Robinhood Gold status to send coins offsite (couldn't find anything in the documentation showing this, Segwit/no Segwit, etc., but I just just got the account and am still digging). Robinhood Gold accounts have a monthly maintenance fee, which would act as a drag on my returns as a HODLer. The fees are not obnoxious, but not the route I want to go just to be able to send coins. As their user base expands and they get more skilled at servicing client needs, I hope they will include this ability in their free/basic accounts.
    2. Robinhood does not currently allow coin transfers in. I saw no wallet addresses, but that is likely because the crypto side of their app hasn't been rolled out yet beyond a watchlist. I did read thru their FAQ list and their primary concerns on receiving Coins appears to be KYC/AML related, so unlike #1 above, I suspect this will take much longer to happen until the lawyers are assured they aren't opening themselves to any liability more than they have from existing stock-type accounts, where ACAT transfers are the norm. We'll see; at least they are cautious and deliberate.

The Great State of Mississippi failed to make the cut with all of the other cutting edge "M" states they are doing in the initial roll out in February. We're slow down here, but that's ok, lol. Perhaps by the time the get the system up and running for Montana, Missouri, et alia, it will be ready for HODLers like me to buy & store.

Best of luck you sick volatility addicted crypto fiends!

    The Starbuck stops here

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 11:30 AM PST

If SB then Charile's post will seem highly accurate: 1) Unexpected to Charlie. We have to be honest that a Facebook or Google approaching him (especially when he is just a few miles away from them) wouldn't be THAT unexpected to him. Heck, he has been hoping along these lines for years. 2) HUGE, Starbucks is certainly a huge company in size - BUT - it now fits when he said it may not seem that huge of news to some, and may not move the price. 3) Fits in with his use of the word, "project." I'll take it...but it was more fun dreaming about the other two.
