Coinbase is holding my Ethereum hostage.

    Posted: 28 Jan 2018 04:41 PM PST

On 03/20/2017, I bought one Ethereum from Coinbase for $29.50, which of course is now worth much more. However, they only took my $29.50 and disabled my account (for ToS violation, edit: for sending BTC to a suspicious wallet), never delivering the Ethereum. I also never received a refund. As such, they stole from my bank account and failed to deliver on an obligation.

I've been trying to contact their support for 8 months, and the only response I get is that "you have a chance to withdraw the coin before you close your account." However, this is blatantly false, as I was banned between the purchase and actually receiving the coin, so it says my balance is zeroed out. Anybody have any idea what I can do? At the very least, this is some kind of fraud or failure to perform and I should get my $30 back. However, I think I deserve 1 ETH after waiting almost a year.

I will not be posting it here, but I have a bank statement proving the transaction on this date, and the lack of refund.

XRB bright future as first useful currency, both short term and long term

    Posted: 28 Jan 2018 10:36 PM PST

Just wanted to make more people aware of raiblocks (xrb) because I really believe that it will become what bitcoin was initially made for (useful crypto) or it will push crypto in the right direction anyway. Here are my reasons :

    1. XRB have fee-less transactions that settle in 2-10s. Yes I know there is XLM with almost zero fee and similar speed. But XLM is not conceived to be used primarily as a currency, Raiblocks is and it is it`s whole purpose. This is the first time in crypto history that you can withdraw from an exchange in 10 seconds or pay on a website in 2-10 seconds without having to calculate random fees or watch block explorer for random amount of minutes or whatever. Simplicity, speed and small or zero fees is what is needed for crypto to be adopted in real world.

    2. iOS, android and new desktop wallet are coming in next few weeks. Dev (gives updates every 2 days) says that iOS wallet is finished, android is 2 weeks behind and new desktop wallet just need some polishing. This will really speed up the adoption, having wallets on so many devices people can easily start introducing new people to crypto because they can send them small amounts of XRB with no fees and instant transfer to play with it. First time in history that it can produce WOW factor by sending between 2 phones in 2 seconds.

    3. There are many business thinking of adopting XRB both online and offline. I have read some of their alpha testing experiences and I thing that XRB really has bright future. Instead of a card you CAN now scan qr code on checkout in a store and have the same speed as chipped credit card.

    4. Soon rebranding to nano http://nano.co Better name in my opinion, more easy to catch up, new website and roadmap.

    5. Binance listing "very soon". XRB won binance january coin of the month (it means free listing) and binance usually lists the coin in the same month. So there are several days left and the best guess is that it will be listed this week. Then you could be able to send your funds between for example binance and kucoin in 10 seconds :) nice. I hope every exchange adopts XRB for the same reason. I hate waiting from 20mins to 20 hours on a withdrawal...

    6. Many more websites adopting XRB coming soon like https://rai.exchange

    ICON huge price movement indicators

    Posted: 28 Jan 2018 10:37 PM PST

Icon (ICX), "Korean Ethereum", had their main net launching on the 24th. On January 31st they will be hosting their annual summit. Blockchain experts, entrepreneurs, influencers, and the media from around the globe will be attending to be shown their latest technical development including Mainnet, 2018 roadmap, and introduce a number of DApps that will run on top of the ICON network.

This summit, as well as the main net, hasn't had as much of an effect as one would expect and the price is bound to move. I have no doubt that something huge will be announced. This is a ticking time bomb. If you are not already in ICX I think now would be a good opportunity.

My partner will be attending the event at the Seoul Grand Ballroom and will be relaying me live updates on any news releases. I'll be posting them here for those who are interested in keeping up to date: https://www.facebook.com/groups/116014865776792/

Proof of Weak Hands token: New (more legitimate) approach to Ponzicoin with dividends and anti-crash security

    Posted: 28 Jan 2018 03:05 PM PST

Some /biz/ developers created a more legitimate approach to the previous two Ponzicoins that happened in the last two days:

    https://powhcoin.com

This token actually CANNOT crash, as the price drops when people sell - so the smart contract can't deplete.

Everytime someone buys, current token holders get paid 10% dividends paid in ETH to your adress, so you eventually will have your investment back without even having to sell your tokens.

Thing is taking off since 30 minutes on 4chan, FOMO.

Edit: Here is the contract adress if you want to verify that the contract is trustworthy:

How to ‘stay in the loop’ with your Digital Currency Investments

    Posted: 28 Jan 2018 08:02 PM PST

People who got into XRB early on, how and why did you make that decision?

    Posted: 28 Jan 2018 11:42 AM PST

I'd like to know how you evaluated XRB (RaiBlocks) when it's market cap was below 10M? Did you just take a chance or there was something that stood out?

I understand that sometimes it's just luck that you can get into a such a currency early on, but part of me is wondering whether is there any framework that I can apply to figure out a standout coin early on.

Share me some or your wisdom and knowledge

The bulls are back baby, and Ethereum is taking over the pairing business on exchanges... it's about time!

    Posted: 28 Jan 2018 04:27 AM PST

Ethereum is fucking killing it right now, and the fact that Bitfinex has added complete trading pairs with all of its coins and tokens has a lot to do with it, so I really hope all the other exchanges out their start doing the same!

I don't know about you guys, but I never ever use Bitcoin to do anything, and only use Ethereum or Litecoin when I need to transfer and trade, and I'm pretty sure all of you do as well.

Once they pair Ethereum with everything, it will not only save us time, but money as well, because we won't have to transform whatever we used to transfer quickly back into Bitcoin, in order to buy what we want... a win win!

Although, I see this as a very bad thing for Bitcoin though, because what would we need it for if or when this happens... time will tell I guess.

    Your thoughts?
