    XRP Forcast 2018

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 04:10 PM PST

The statements below are my personal opinion and beliefs only.

For everyone who has been waiting patiently for XRP to start making moves, you will not have to wait much longer.
Come Jan/Feb of 2018 XRP is going to begin to break its current trend and begin to move to new highs, and it's lows won't even be anywhere near where they are now.

    Why?

    Banks.
You can thank Ripple and their genius approach to getting themselves on the minds of every banking institution IN THE WORLD over the past 12 months. What we have seen has been an amazing game of chess played, with each move planned well in advance, and nobody else even knowing they were playing a game.
During the first quarter of 2018 we will see the first major institution begin using XRP for payment processing. This is the true snowball effect, once bank A begins to save so much money, and has near instant cross border payments, banks B through Z are going to want this as well.

That is just one reason. The other. Institutional money.
Yes, 2018 is expected to be a BIG year for crypto. At the time of writing this we are at 350Bn market cap CoinMarketCap.com. We are forecast to be in the TRILLIONS come 2018. Picture what all that extra money, plus the extra liquidity on the XRP market is going to do to the price.

To summarize, and I am being conservative here. By the end of 2018 I see a $5 USD XRP.

XRP moving to new levels, potential in this price stability

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 07:42 PM PST

Hi guys, allow me to vent some some analysis after some time watching XRP.

The XRP price is gradually ascending the steps towards .30. First we saw stability in the .15-.20 range; then .20-.22. Now the price is able to hold at around .24-.25. While we've seen .30 get rejected a few times, the extent of the rejection has gotten smaller and smaller.

In the medium term, we have a incomplete bullish triangle pattern, which is always a positive sign. At the moment, it feels like XRP is coiling like a spring. But of course the market is still very fragile, and could be dragged down by any negative news. In the long-term, the threats continue to be the potential bust of bitcoin (which could discredit all cryptos; probably the greatest and most likely threat to XRP), negative ripple news (such as problems with rollout, transaction errors, etc.), and the rise of competing payment solutions. The case for the hold is (1) increasing adoption by banks and FIs (2) increasing trade volume and number of XRP vendors, and (3) increasing adoption by investment funds. I see 2 and 3 as quite likely, while 1 is still anyone's guess. Only time will tell!

@Ripple: RT @bgarlinghouse: Anyone surprised by the latest SEC action isn't paying attention. I sound like a broken record, but regulators aren't going away + other fraudulent ICOs will have a similar fate https://t.co/RcjuLRoliq

A brief rant (price quoted are in KRW)

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 09:23 PM PST

This XRP price is frustrating as fuck. On the one hand, KRW285-290 is really good. It has never held steady at that level before. But on the other hand, BTC's march northwards is dragging every other shitcoin up with it. Well, every other coin but XRP. And then, at the slightest wobble from BTC, XRP falls by KRW5 and spends the next 24 hours recovering. I know I'm in it for the long term, but I am getting tired of the obvious prejudice. Rant over. Time to move on with my day.

    New Big Partnership is coming?!

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 06:16 AM PST

Ukrainian Central Bank finally moved into blockchain and the team behind is hidden. https://www.coindesk.com/ukrainian-central-bank-expanding-blockchain-team/?utm_content=buffer406e2&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

BUT, the bank has already made a statement back in 2015: "In the nearest future we plan to connect Ukrainian banks to the internet protocol Ripple which will cryptographically secure financial transaction data and will allow to reduce the costs and speed up payments due to the system openness and absence of mediators." Legit question, When first bank starts using XRP, will it raise the price TOO much?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 05:46 PM PST

We have seen how much pumping IOTA has gotten the last few days, and now it has $1B volume daily (more than ETH, XMR, AND XRP combined!), and so I am curious if a bank suddenly using XRP will raise the price too much. If a bank pumps $1B into the XRP for trading daily out of nowhere then won't it cause the price to rise just as quickly as it did to IOTA, causing sudden volatility?
I am not saying this will necessarily be a bad thing when the time actually comes, but is there a plan to slowly roll out XRP use by banks? Like perhaps having them start off transactions at 10%, then move more and more each day so the price doesn't skyrocket too fast?

Again, I am asking a serious question and am not trying to start any kind of controversy.

Australian here! First time buying any cryptocurrency and I decided to go with you fine people! A nice clean 100 XRP for me.

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 03:48 PM PST

Bought at $0.34, already at $0.35! BRINGING HOME THAT CHEDDAR, BABY!

On a serious note, this is just a bit of a gamble for me... Losing out on $35 is hardly going to break the bank, but if this kicks off like Bitcoin has, I'll be rather pleased.

What are some good links to predictions for the value of XRP in say 2-5 years? Cheers! Thanks for having me :)

Is Kraken a good place to buy XRP?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 04:56 PM PST

Bitstamp have been taking forever to verify me and I' can't log into gatehub. Kraken verified me in a day, now I just need to wire them my deposit then buy the XRP. I'm UK based btw.

If I'm not a bank - what is the value of Ripple to me?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 04:17 PM PST

Hi all, new into this space and I am doing a lot of research into Ripple and I find it very intriguing. I definitely see the long term value, but I have one hang up - with so much of Ripple being geared towards banking applications, what is its value to me as an individual rather than a banking entity? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts. Thanks!

    Atomic Swaps

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 05:24 PM PST

Hello fellow hodlers. As a believer in Ripple and it´s team most of my portfolio consists of XRP.

My question: Could atomic swaps make Ripple as a third party intermediary unnecessary considering banks develop their own blockchain tech?

    Please enlighten me!

I also want to encourage Hodor to share his thoughts on this matter, maybe here or in an upcoming blog.

    Thx

It's been a great year to own XRP (unless you sold BTC to buy it)

    Exchanges like shapeshift.io?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 08:47 PM PST

I really like shapeshift.io interface but it seems like XRP has been temporarily unavailable for a while. I'd like some reputable alternatives I can use when this happens.

    Do I need a wallet?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 04:59 PM PST

So I'm a college student that has a little experience with crypto and Coinbase. However, I want to start branching out and buying some xrp among other things through Bitstamp and Kraken. Do I need to get a wallet to store those coins in or would it all be fine in the sites? I don't plan on using/selling them or anything, just gonna let them sit awhile. Any help would be appreciated.

My first experience with the Nano S

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 01:09 PM PST

I just set up my Nano S and send some XRP from Gatehub to the Nano and it took only 2 seconds! I'm really impressed, even i knew that this is one of the key features of XRP. A few months ago i've sent some bitcoins and it took 24 hours lol.

Btw. Since the Ripple app is installed on my pc i guess i can use it only there or are there tweaks i can use on chrome like the btc/eth apps?

Starting to wonder about the XRP FUD campaign of late...

    Posted: 04 Dec 2017 08:47 AM PST

Is it just me, or does it seem like there is a more concentrated effort of late where people come out strong against XRP? On Facebook there is someone who formed or is an admin of a Ripple group that is basically spreading FUD all weekend. For those who don't know, "FUD" is Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. It seems like this one poster is spending an inordinate amount of time making XRP FUD related posts and then debating anyone who links to pro-XRP points.

At the end of the day, I'm all for a free exchange of ideas about whatever crypto you choose to invest in. I think it's important to see both sides and have a lot of information. That being said, it's beginning to feel like a concerted effort to spread FUD. When people point to actual Ripple news to combat the points or stuff Joel Katz has said, they are ignored and the standard negative talking points against XRP are discussed.

I'm just curious why people feel so compelled to campaign against XRP? I have doubts about BTC, ETH, LTC, etc, but I don't spend my time trying to dissuade people from investing in them. It seems like the coin people are most Hell bent to dissuade people from investing in is XRP and I wish I knew why. Ripple seems like a solid company that has a useful product a ton of banks and AMEX are getting on board with.

If anything my biggest criticism of Ripple is not using XRP for consumers. To me, it's the fastest way to pay for anything and send currency back and forth.
