XRP is on the move. What is the result of our latest liquidity increases, and what's in store with Ripple's latest hire in the communications position? I cover it all, and indicate the trajectory of our rocket ship as we clear the atmosphere.

And of course, I haven't forgotten about the "two household names" hinted at last week.

Hope you enjoy the read. Please feel free to leave any feedback below!

@Ripple: By using RippleNet, Krungsri is not only able to provide a real-time cross-border payment flow for the petrochemical company, but also provide complete transparency into when the payment would be received. Interested in learning more? https://t.co/QmmBvN97rc

The easiest way to get XRP in under an hour (with CoinBase, Binance, and your wallet of choice)

    Posted: 18 Dec 2017 08:26 PM PST

Disclaimer: I just did this a few days ago and it worked for me. I'm new to Crypto. But So are you (most likely), so I hope you understand this. Also, there are no referral links in this post (unlike the guy who tried that a few hours ago)

Step 1: Get a CoinBase Account

Pretty self explanatory, sign up on Coinbase, or use their app. Hook up your credit/debit card of choice, and buy either Ethereum or Litecoin. Do not buy Bitcoin, as there is a delay between purchasing BTC and receiving BTC. CoinBase also charges some fees when processing transactions, check out /u/SaveTroc 's post below on CoinBase fees.

Step 2: Get a Binance account

Again, self explanatory. Sign up at Binance, and send your CoinBase Eth/LTC to Binance (top right, deposit/withdraw). Should take a few minutes at least, I think I waited under seven minutes for it to process.

    Step 3: Buy your XRP

Buy your XRP with your LTC/Eth on the Binance exchange at whatever rate you want in on. Again, might take a few minutes for it all to update.

Step 4: Put it in a different wallet

I used Toast Wallet, but you can use whatever method you choose. Use the same deposit/withdraw menu to send your XRP to your wallet. This took the longest (for me).

    Ta-da! you're done. Enjoy hodling

Why XRP has to be very valuable (and some explanations)

    Posted: 18 Dec 2017 12:00 AM PST

I've been following this board for a while and wanted to clear up a few things and give my thoughts and try and explain why I think Ripple and more specifically (XRP) has so much value.

First, market cap… There seems to be a misunderstanding on what a market cap is when people try to comprehend its limits. There are 100 Billion XRP in existence, and even though we go by circulation (38B) to calculate the market cap I'm speculating the future so I will use the 100B, also because its nice and round.

If everyone holding XRP right now decided we weren't going to sell an XRP for under $100, that would make the market cap 10 Trillion USD. $1,000 would make it 100 Trillion. This wouldn't happen due to the way markets work, however its an easy explanation as to how a market cap is set. It doesn't even remotely resemble how much money has been invested in it, but how much people are willing to pay for / sell it for. Many people seem to have yet grasp this concept.

Now why does XRP HAVE to be valuable? If Ripple succeeds in taking over the SWIFT system and handles the entire market of large volume cross boarder payments, the intrinsic value of XRP would have to be at the very least reflected in the market cap. CPSS (Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems) participating countries. transfer around 8.4 Trillion dollars a day. Now is where I start to speculate. In my conservative estimated opinion, I would guess that financial institutions would want to keep at LEAST one days worth of transfers in XRP in their systems (I could be wrong but I'm pretty smart so whatever roll with it). Right now they have to hold a lot more money locked up because of the way the swift system works over 3-5 days to guarantee the transfer. The XRP has to at least reflect the amount they need for the transfers. Banks can't currently transfer $500 Billion of XRP in the next few hours because its simply not valuable enough, there isn't 500 Billion dollars worth of XRP to transfer. By nature it has to be more valuable.

Assuming 1 days worth of 8.4T, would give 1 single XRP and intrinsic value of $84. And this would be if there were no investors in it and the banks held all of it. Thats the minimum if XRP captured the entire market and the institutions held on to a days worth. Just think about that.

Now if other types of payment services involved ripple and we accounted for investors holding it, and we also know that financial institutions may hold more than that, these prices could be well over that. Do I think XRP will hit 200-300 in the next 5 years? Probably not, however I have no idea thats not the point of this post.

XRP is the only crypto that I have been able to at least narrow down on any sort of intrinsic value and that value to me is off the charts from where we are now. That's why I, as you all say, HODL.

EDIT: grammar, changed a sentence structure for clarification. EDIT 2: CPSS participating countries* it's late and wrote this a little to quickly once i realized this account is over a week old

Play Devils Advocate: Why Could Ripple Fail?

    Posted: 18 Dec 2017 01:52 PM PST

I've been a supporter of Ripple since before the "boom". I can remember back two whole weeks when the constant question was "why it wasn't moving above .20 cents" .... "why has nothing happened with the AMEX partnership being announced" ...

Now suddenly I feel like it has become an echo chamber in here, and I drank the koolaid harder than ever. I love waking up and reading new articles... reading predictions... speculations.

But can someone play Devils Advocate for me here and put out some reasons why this might not possibly work?

Family Dinner = Spread The XRP Gospel

    Posted: 18 Dec 2017 11:48 AM PST

Had a nice family get-together/dinner last night with about 12 people. One of my cousins is a prop trader and the other is an investment banker. Naturally the conversation turned to block-chain and crypto. I quickly became the de facto crypto expert at the table and ended up discussing XRP/Ripple at length with several people. Even my cousins twin boys (14 years old) were very enthusiastic about it. After answering every question that was posed, I convinced one of my cousins to invest a sizable amount into XRP. I told him to hurry as the good news is coming fast:)

    Spread the word and HODL!

Ripple is changing the way the economy thinks about blockchain

    Posted: 18 Dec 2017 11:11 AM PST

I have a feeling that things are about to crank up!

    Posted: 18 Dec 2017 08:22 PM PST

The crypto market is expanding immensely! Due to media coverage and word of mouth both new experienced and inexperienced investors are flocking to the market in a unprecedented rate. For most newcomers their journey begins at coinbase. And we all know what tends to happen to a coin once it is added to coinbase. We have examples like LTC which experienced a rapid appreciation in value following an addition to coinbase. Keep in mind that the rapid appreciation of LTC happened when coinbase only supported a fraction of the users that it supports today.

One of the major obstacles that prevents new investors from investing their money into great coins such as XRP is the lack of accessibility in a user friendly platform. To a newcomer exchanges such as bittrex, binance, and other excahnges are very confusing and intimidating which discourages novice investors from investing in less accessible coins such as XRP.

Anyone as passionate as i am about ripple and XRP knows that ripple is a very strategic company that puts in real work in order to achieve real results. Alot of work is done behind doors prior to confirming and announcing partnerships.

I may be wrong but i have a feeling that ripple is strategically preparing to crank this thing up a bit. Just think about it.. .. if ripple was to announce a major partnership at this very moment XRP would experience massive gains. However, now imagine if ripple was to announce a major partnership immediately prior to or following an addition of XRP to coinbase...... BINGO!

lets not forget that one of the major goals of Ripple in 2018 is increasing volume and liquidity. Moreover, human psychology will also play a large role in the adoption of XRP. Why would a new investor spend $100 in order to receive a fraction of a BTC, LTC, or ETH when $100 would give them more that 100 XRP. now factor in any future announcements then the choice becomes even more clear. These next few weeks to months have the potential to be very interesting.......
