To those of you who are newer, you won't survive in this business if the tiniest dips scare you. Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:14 AM PST Right now, Litecoin has gone up and down 20 bucks for the past hour constantly, so this may scare some of you.. If you haven't done research and haven't paid attention, that is. You will NOT survive in a business like Stocks if you're willing to slam the panic button the moment shit drops a bit. In fact, a buddy of mine last night freaked out when Litecoin hit 250 "Dude, sell that shit now, please" It's now back up to 290. Wait, no, 303.... 304. See what I mean? Also, the only reason you'd ever panic sell is if you're an amateur, have weak nerves, or if you invested too much originally. As we're all saying: INVEST ONLY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD.Another fun fact: Those tons of you who are panic selling? You're the reason the price is dropping so drastically. [link] [comments]

If you HODL now, you’ll be thanking yourself you didn’t day trade. Posted: 15 Dec 2017 09:52 AM PST I've been seeing a lot of posts of people saying "learn from me" and it's driving me crazy. Stop gambling and thinking you've taken the pill from Limitless and can predict LTC prices. No one knows the fluctuations, but we all know it's going to keep rising because the demand is getting higher. Literally all you have to do is right now, like right now if you haven't bought any LTC yet because the price is going to go up sooner than later, is to buy as much as you're willing to lose (I've put in more than I'm willing to lose but I'm pretty bullish) and just HODL. Don't worry about trying to make a quick buck selling high and buying low. What happens is you might even succeed the first couple of times, but then you are going to get in the mindset of wanting to keep gambling and then you're going to sell and when it takes off again, you'll be kicking yourself. It's a good way to get depressed really easily and at that point, you're just gambling. Crypto shouldn't be used to gamble, it's either an investment or you actually believe in the future of technology, which you would still HODL either way. It's easy to want to make a quick buck, but anything good in this life takes time and patience and sticking through to the end, thick or thin. Just hang in there and you'll be thanking yourself come mid 2018 when the price of LTC is well over $1k hopefully more than that. *Edit: Another thing to remember is that the more people that HODL's, the more the price will increase because there will be less selling, meaning the price will go up. So if you HODL you'll be helping everyone else out too along with yourself. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:27 AM PST Something I realized when we keep hitting these walls is that there are a lot of inexperience investors. I'm thinking a lot of people bought in during the surge, trying to make a quick buck. When there's a minor dip, they sell, when it hits a minor pump, they sell. And that keeps the price relatively low. To create a price surge, there has to be more buy than sell. It's a simply supply and demand. Panic selling helps no one, especially if you're selling at a loss. Please do us all a favor, have a little more faith in each other, in a way, we are in this together. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 08:00 AM PST I bought into LTC at $94. When it spiked I figured I would buy a Ledger to be extra safe. I have seen so many posts regarding people messing up transfers and losing coins or just generally having bad experiences. I'm here to tell you, don't be scared. Ledger Nano S was easy to setup and use. I was terrified I was going to lose my recovery words or mess up transfers in general. I gave my parents a copy of my recovery words to keep in their safe and I have one in mine. I was able to transfer my LTC from coinbase and my XRP from Binance without any issues and I feel much better knowing that I completely control my coins. Hope a success story helps those on the fence about going cold storage. HODL! [link] [comments]
The More I Learn, The Less I Care about Price Posted: 14 Dec 2017 07:14 PM PST This is very important for people who are new to crypto-currencies to understand. I would still consider myself very new, but I'm learning. I got in around 2014, didn't make any money and didn't care about cashing out (or learning more) because my balance was a pittance so I just closed up the wallet and forgot about it until recently. Boy was that stupid. When I came back this year, I didn't care about anything but my balance again, just concerned with the price. It seems the flood of newbies brings a whole new wave of people who are still too concerned about price. What we need to understand is the PRICE does not matter, the VALUE of crypto-currency does. It becomes more obvious the more I learn, the technology has value regardless of its price. It is not about making a quick buck, it is not about buying a Ferrari (though that is always a lovely bonus, should it come). It is about being part of a relatively new technology that is seeing unprecedented growth and has potential to change the future of our planet forever, in a positive way. How many of you enjoy waiting for bank transfers to go through for 3-5 days (especially when you are waiting to buy more crypto)? How many love that the government prints more of your money so its worth less and less? What about the fact that you aren't actually in charge of your own money? What if you could be in charge of your own money and BE your own bank? That is the VALUE of litecoin (and bitcoin and other cryptos) and that is just merely scratching the surface. So with that said. Do some research, stop staring at the price and learn more about the technology you are investing money into. Maybe you'll just learn something that changes your opinion about this being a cash grab. You may even become an educated advocate of cryptocurrency and might just enjoy what you learn. [link] [comments]

About to make my first purchase... Posted: 15 Dec 2017 05:31 AM PST Just signed up for Coinbase. Is my flow of investing correct? Buy from coinbase -> Transfer to Electrum Wallet -> HODL and ride -> When it's time to cash out, transfer to GDAX and cash out to avoid fees? Literally on the Coinbase site right now about to buy at $284.20 [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:13 PM PST someone wants the price to go up, someone else wants the price to go down. Both sides want to own vast amounts of LTC The one who is making it go up has the majority of LTC and wants it to go up now, the one who is making it go down has vast amounts of USD and wants it to go down to shake out the weak hands and rebuy everything. Edit: The problem is, the vast USD holder doesn't infinite LTC to sell down, and the vast LTC holder doesnt have infinite amounts of USD to price up. The defintion of a costly war, and all you see is the price at 276-283. This means you must HODL because you make it easier for the price to go up and thus harder to make it go down, and at the same time, you make the pumper easier to attract more interest. Either way, just HODL and give it time. It's not a correction, it's a war on every coin at this very moment. Correction was this morning, this is now war for control. update: arbitragers from gdax/bithumb apparently came in to stop this bad-boy actor on gdax. obviously he didn't account for the huge arbitrage army! south korean market crypto lends a hand [link] [comments]

Joining to the litecoin community, life changing. Posted: 15 Dec 2017 09:59 AM PST I have always been interested on the crytocurrencies, the first time that i heard about bitcoin was probably around 2009 when i think that was a few cents per coin, i tried to learn about it but couldn't find any info that would made me get into it, to be honest back then i didn't understand it yet. I'm studding system engineering but i live in a country with a heavy exchange control, at this moment practically everything here is collapsing and probably the half of the people that i know are leaving the country or trying to, selling everything that they have and escaping. If you don't know yet, im Venezuelan and crytocurrencies, bitcoin, litecoin have been a way to survive here, but now the government its trying to take control over this too, after leading the country to a deficit and debt they have been raiding and imprisoning miners to steal their machines and they are even asking to the people that havent been "caught" to register into a new ministry, is like killing the spirit, the core of the crytocurrencies trying to take control over them. This was posted here: https://news.bitcoin.com/venezuelans-turn-to-bitcoin-as-government-crackdown-on-mining-intensifies/ Since the first time that i read about it on the newspapers i got really mad about it, i wrote a rant in the comments, because of that a few guys donated me on litecoins, and to be honest i couldn't believe it, what they sent to me is really a live changing for anyone living in this country, ill try to use it as an investment but also when all my affairs are done to also move to another country, so i want to thank them in case they are also on this community and let them know how important its for me. This also made me thing how big the litecoin and crytocurrency can be, i mean in other case would be a hassle and hard to help someone on need that could be in the other side of the planet, for now i'll HODL until i can move. If you want you can check the comments about a bit more of the situation here, some things that you cant know if you don't live here, also if anyone wants to know more i can answer any question that you have. If there is any misspelled i'll try to fix them later. [link] [comments]
