We've added an addendum to Rule 2 concerning low-effort posts. Posted: 23 Dec 2017 05:46 PM PST Hey /r/CryptoCurrency, The moderation team has been working on filtering out the high volumes of low-quality posts that don't promote healthy discussion. These are posts such as:
Let's be real, these posts are a dime a dozen and they don't do anything except promote wild speculation and shilling whatever coin that commenters are holding. One of my initiatives is to empower cryptocurrency newcomers into doing their own research, making their own decisions, and discovering the technology behind coins -- not just seeing them as a get-rich-quick scheme. So from here on out, we're going to be removing posts from the queue that are similar to the examples I provided. The official addendum to the rule is as follows:
Posters will be encouraged to post these questions in the daily discussion thread if they really feel that such a discussion is necessary. We're committed to creating a healthy environment where all cryptocurrency can be discussed in a civilized manner. If you have any suggestions or questions about improving /r/CryptoCurrency then feel free to comment here or message the mod team. P.S. Congrats on 300k subscribers! [link] [comments]

Verge is teaching us all something... Posted: 23 Dec 2017 10:01 PM PST That this unregulated market can be completely manipulated all the way to the top...and that perhaps market cap is a very poor measure to compare coins because of this. Verge completely fails at what it is supposed to be, a privacy coin. Yet it is sitting on the cusp of becoming a top 10 currency based on market cap. But here's the thing. No one...and I mean no one that actually cares about privacy would use this coin. So what is happening? I think that we have coordinated collusion amongst a few big players trading this worthless coin back and forth driving the price up. And when it is time for them to sell, they will make some money...but nowhere near what the market cap stands at now. Because the truth is no one actually wants this coin for any kind of long term prospects because it is fundamentally a complete failure. I'm not sure what the solution to any of this is, but it seems like the more of this kind of stuff happens, the more coins Macafee pumps, the more people collude...the faster we will become a regulated market...and at this point I would almost welcome regulations. RaiExchange launching on January 1st! Posted: 23 Dec 2017 04:21 PM PST More exciting news coming for XRB. This is being targeted towards the current PITA which is, buying RaiBlocks. Really stoked for the progress that we're seeing towards community/developer movement on this project! [link] [comments]

I am waiting for the day cryptocurrencies disengage from Bitcoin and it's ups and downs Posted: 24 Dec 2017 02:05 AM PST Really there is no reason for it. There is first mover advantage but at some point tech 2.0 or tech 3.0 will take over. Bitcoin maximalists don't think this way but really there is no clear explanation for the whole market following inferior tech always. At some point people will realize that there are many "stocks" or "startups" or call them whatever you want projects out there. [link] [comments]

Thoughts on ICX or ICON? Been hearing a lot of buzz about it being Korea’s Ethereum Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:35 PM PST Seeing it come up a lot on twitter, and it has done pretty well even when btc has been correcting. Can anyone knowledgeable about this coin, tell me your thoughts on why it's a good investment? Shillers are welcome, I found WTC when everyone said it was just a PnD. And look where it is now :) Just have good factual points to why it has a good future. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments]

Why ICON will be a top5 coin in terms of adoption within a year Posted: 23 Dec 2017 01:00 PM PST If you haven't already heard, Koreans are in on the game. Dubbed "Korean Ethereum", ICON is coming to change the game. So why do I think ICON will be in top5 within a year? Simple.
2-Korea is perfect place for crypto to grow out of
3-ICON's blockchain solution is already enterprise tested
4-ICON scales
5-Partnerships they already secured are impressive
