This guy was somehow given magical powers: every time he tweets about a coin, it goes to the moon.
He uses it on nebulous coins with no proven teams nor product like Verge, Burst etc ...

His tweets and insights are no better than your typical reddit crypto bug ("hodl", "coins on sale", "I am not shilling, this will change the world" etc ...). He brings no insight, no perspective, he is just purely shilling BS, and it's working.

I think he understood the crypto game well and uses his name to the fullest.

Edit : it's even worse than I thought, just scroll throigh his latest tweets, you will find his "due diligence" on Electroneum. It's embarassing.
He also tweeted that he read all the whitepapers out there (please..)

Hodler here...Need some guidance on crypto day trading

    Posted: 23 Dec 2017 05:21 PM PST

Like the title says... I don't trade, just hold, but I wanna get a bit into trading using a very small part of my portfolio (1% or less)

I don't want to become a day trader or anything, but if I'm gonna do this little experiment, I wanna do it the right way. Can you guys recommend some solid guides on the fundamentals? Something to get me going in the right direction.

Also... are gains made from crypto to crypto trades taxable?

Thanks in advance for any input

Hit btc exit scam and possible person behind it

    Posted: 23 Dec 2017 03:31 PM PST

According to Bloomberg, Hitbtc is owned by Hit techs Ltd. In London.

According to their company house record, they dissolved in May 2017.

Issues for withdrawal started shortly after this. They have been operating illegally if this is the case as they are legally required to notify customers and cease trading immediately.

You can view the official record of this below :

    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09414265

This is the man who was in charge https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09414265/officers

I can't be sure, but this man** also lives in London, involved in crypto and is around the same age. Can't anyone message him in LinkedIn???

    https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgebasiladze

    https://www.facebook.com/george.basiladze

    instagram.com/rasta_selecta/

    twitter.com/rasta_selecta

His Twitter says "founder of cryptopay and good guy". I've tried adding him on Facebook but I've been blocked.

I also find it funny that this man's new venture "cryptopay" has chosen hitbtc as the exchange to list their new ICO on.

After the holidays it is my intention to contact companies house and report their ongoing illegal activity.

Hitbtc.com has stolen my money along with many others.

If hitbtc were actually active. This post would have been deleted from their official subredit for naming someone and making the claims I've made.

Hitbtc has taken our funds and ran

** this man has been named here based on my suspicion. I am not accusing I am simply asking whether or not he is involved. A response from this individual would be welcomed. But my social media attempts have been blocked.

    NXT a good opportunity

What is your technique for quickly identifying shitcoins from alt coins that are possibly credible? How Can I tell if BigBoobCoin is legit?!?!

    Posted: 23 Dec 2017 04:51 AM PST

Personally I just look at their website first. If that is ghetto or uses jargon like "ecofriendly" without any credible explanation of how it will achieve that then I label it a shitcoin. If the website looks okay then I look for the team members behind it. If that is not disclosed I drop its score down a notch.

    So my process is basically:

    1. Website sniff test (is it up and running with a sensical mission statement?)
    2. Who is the team (are they capable?)
    3. Glance at the white paper

Is there a faster way to eliminate shitcoins? Does the Market cap tell me anything? What about the crypto groups that are focusing on some other goal like storing medical records--how will their coins perform?

I also understand that I could also just invest in shitcoins, the price action on some of these losers has been 10x-50x before crashing down...but there is just much higher risk with that type of play even though it worked for a some people. I believe speed of screening is something worth thinking about to narrow down your basket of cryptos

Is it strictly McAfee hype or am I missing something? There's no noteworthy team to speak of, they've underdelivered on their timelines, no working product, seems to be just BTC over TOR? What am I missing here?

Let's compile some tips on becoming smarter investors.

    Posted: 23 Dec 2017 01:02 PM PST

Like many of you, I dabbled in crypto a long time ago. Back when bitcoin was $72 dollars, I didn't think much of it. It all either got lost, reformatted, hacked off of exchanges, etc. My passion was reignited in the last few months and I got back into it.

I think there's a dark truth about the recent crypto craze: We have no freakin' clue what we're doing. And because so many people are making money in this bullish market, perhaps we all forget that "pulling a random coin out of your ass and accidentally making money" is does not make us Jordan Belfort.

I want to start actually learning more about reading and analyzing charts. I want to do more than read shitcoin shilling on reddit and /biz/.

Particular topics that I think would benefit us all:
-Your coin news sources - when something 'big' happens, where do you read about it first?
-Information about trend analysis. "dead cat bounce", "snakes", "S patterns", etc.

I don't want to suggest this thread and not contribute anything to it, so here are some basic commandments that I have gathered and seen demonstrated:

    1. Don't sell at a loss. Don't panic sell. If the market is having a meltdown like on 12/22/17, just turn off your computer and go do something else. The more you stare at your dwindling portfolio, the more likely you are to bail. And in the example of 12/22/17's meltdown, the market has made a near-full recovery in only 24 hours. Not panic-selling is directly tied to

    2. Don't invest money you can't afford to throw away. When you remortgage your house and invest in crypto, you're going to be really tempted to panic sell to minimize losses. You haven't lost anything until you sell. By not investing money you cannot afford to lose, you will be less likely to make those passion-fueled mistakes. There are new investors out there who bought BTC at 19,000 and panic sold at 11,000. Only to see today that BTC is flirting with $16k again. In fact, to even put numbers in this post dates it, because readers in the future will look back and laugh, saying "remember when btc was only $16,000".

    3. Everyone shills their own bags. Anyone with real information, will likely keep it to themselves. Some people share good tips, but its awash in a sea of... well, pure bullshit. Everyone is an expert in a bull market.

    $35 in transaction fees?

    Posted: 23 Dec 2017 08:41 PM PST

Hey guys, I had bought $230 of BTC on Coinbase and moved it to GDAX. At purchase I was whisked off $7 as processing fees which I was a little pissed about but it was okay. Then I moved the funds from GDAX to Binance and the final amount I received was $195; $27 in deduction from the transfer from GDAX to Binance and $35 in total from purchase to Final Point. Is this even normal? I feel cheated. Also does anyone else have a good substitute to Coinbase. I am not looking for places where they set the minimum threshold to withdraw itself too high because I can't afford to pump in that kind of money just to move around my assets. I've heard Gemini is good but also many skeptical things about it as well.
