Bitcoin Gold website again distributing malware

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 05:36 PM PST

Anyone else feel bad seeing Bitcoin soar despite that the network became pretty much useless and unreliable?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 10:30 PM PST

It also opened my mind a little bit.

It never was about p2p money fundamentals or changing the world for the better, this whole economy is fueled 100% by speculation, nothing more.

I made majority of my wealth on this mania, so I shouldn't complain, but it still makes me very sad, thinking that the true potential of this system is being ignored and it's being degraded to a lame lottery.

/r/bitcoin getting spammed by bots right now, they are commenting non-sense, apparently a bug on their code?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 09:59 PM PST

    Check this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7fkqqg/im_in_tokyo_right_now_so_i_celebrated_9000_the/

Usernames are very similar, comments are speaking non sense!

Where are these bots from? What are they trying to do?

Edit: Just noticed they are repeating top comments from other posts.

Anyone impressed at how strong BCH is right now?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 10:28 PM PST

A month ago if BTC CORE hit $9000 ethereum and BCH would have took a dive. Not the case now though.

My husband and I decided to Evangelize bitcoin cash to our grub hub customers!

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 11:17 PM PST

After seeing all the great posts on r/btc, My husband and I decided to create some flyers of our own to give to our DoorDash customers. We were amazed by the positive response we had by the community. Nearly every one of them seemed genuinely interested in learning what Bitcoin cash was all about. We will continue to evangelize our community until everyone in town knows about the power of this technology! Below I have attached some of our deliveries that stuck out to us, as well as an image file of our flyer so that others may print copies if they so choose.

Spun up a new Electron Cash BCH server on tor onion

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 03:52 PM PST

Announcing a full node running with a new Electron Cash BCH server on tor onion.

I originally got into bitcoin six years ago as a coder. Started very enthusiastic but then left bitcoin development two years ago (with much less enthusiasm).

But now, thanks to Bitcoin Cash, it feels like the good old days again. So I'm back here and ready+eager to help grow the infrastructure which makes bitcoin more useful for the community. For BTC, I've used Electrum for years, an excellent SPV wallet, and am now using Electron Cash for BCH. But there are still too few servers for Electron Cash and even fewer which give user-privacy high priority.

My first contribution is cashskns6ycfx762.onion, which is a privacy-focused Electron server for the Bitcoin Cash mainnet. It runs the latest Bitcoin ABC 0.16.1 daemon and the ElectrumX 1.2 server configured for BCH.

This server operates as a hidden service instance, exclusively over Tor, and obviously does not log. Feel free to use it to get an extra layer of privacy for your Electron Cash wallet client. Unlike regular full nodes it is not able to link IPs to transactions or addresses. Just point Electron to cashskns6ycfx762.onion port 50001 or read more on the service's homepage, http://cashskns6ycfx762.onion/

Other features: Consistent uptime (link to uptime monitor from homepage) / multiple backups / ample bandwidth.

Hope that this is useful to someone!

    r/worldnews Tipping Thread

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 06:35 PM PST

I've created this thread as a friendly way to teach the newcomers over at r/worldnews why Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin. Let's put the tippr bot to work and give these folks some coins to play with!

    For the newcomers

The computer code that runs the Bitcoin network has been taken over by some greedy banker types. A group of rebel coders have re-launched the original version of the Bitcoin computer code and upgraded it so more people can use it. We call that thing Bitcoin Cash and since it's existence, it's value has exploded! This is because the Bitcoin network is so slow it's practically unusable and people are getting tired of greedy coders holding their money hostage. For more information about Bitcoin Cash, subscribe to r/btc ! Unlike r/bitcoin which bans users for talking freely about problems with Bitcoin, we want to hear your voice! Join us!

    Get some coins!

Now, reply in this thread and I'll use the Bitcoin Cash tipping bot to send you some Bitcoin Cash to play with. I'll do this until I run out of money!

EDIT 1: Just introduce yourself and I'll make it rain! Other BCH-ers, feel free to join! EDIT 2: I'm going to bed but say hi anyway and I might send you some coins in the morning!

You would think that with Bitcoin Core at an ATH, there would not little need for core trolling /r/btc, but they have every right to feel threatened--Bitcoin Cash is eating core's merchant lunch on its way to becoming the first global currency.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 10:20 PM PST

It appears many are confused by the difference between price and value. Bitcoin Core's price is at an all-time-high for example, but its value tanked with the loss of its merchants. Bitcoin Cash's price may be low but it's value is growing rapidly inline with merchant adoption. The Bitcoin Cash combination of 0-conf instant transactions, low fees and a vibrant community that doesn't require censorship and deceit to function, is very compelling. And as price will eventually follow value, Bitcoin Cash can look forward to becoming the dominant global medium of exchange--one merchant at a time.

This week I gave a presentation to ~45 computer scientists about blockchain technology.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 03:14 PM PST

    Pictures

These were mostly software engineers with a few database admins, SQAs, and at least one domain architect sprinkled in. The talk was really well received and I was even invited to give the presentation again at the local .NET Developers group.

Just doing my part to keep the revolution moving forward!

I thought you guys might be interested since I gave you a shout-out on the getting-started slide. :)

The moneywagon project now refers to BTC as "Bitcoin Legacy"

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 09:49 AM PST

Someone is desperately trying to push Bitcoin Cash down. Thousands of BCH bought. Great work community!

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 04:57 PM PST

There are two types of crypto daytraders. Those that have already experienced what it's like to get goxed and those that have not. The second group always grows at a higher rate.

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 05:31 PM PST

Why are prices of the main cryptos all rising? Is it only because people believe so much that the price will increase, cause that's the definition of a price bubble. Or is it because cryptos are filling a demand beyond that?

Please ask yourself that question and go read the stories of people that lost a lot during the goxing. I believe in crypto as much as you who are reading this but this does not mean we should let go of rational thinking or stop being a bit cynical when it's the right time to be cynical. There are lots of people out there trying to warn the community and the average gamer wanna-be daytrader. You are all being take advantage of and when the Second Gox happens you will feel horrible. There will always be a Second Gox (and then a thirth) and the faster the prices increase faster the faster it will be here. Goxing is a part of crypto and it will be part of crypto for a long time to come. Accept that and if you think you will outsmart the market you might be right, but not all of you will outsmart the market. And realize that regulated stock markets and forex are already places full of shadiness because making money with money does not contribute anything to society. Now think about all the semi and unregulated crypto exchanges and the fact that when you story crypto in your head even the goverment can't take it from you, unlike anything we ever had before.

No seriously, be careful and don't let your own greed fool you in to stop thinking rationally. We are still years and years away from mass adoption and by far the entire crypto system is primarily being used not just as a safe container of value but as a safe container of value that is rapidly becoming worth more and more. And then the gox comes and the market crashes 80% and you loose funds and you are done with crypto and then 5 years later the price hits 20 000 USD and you still feel like an idiot. Don't be so gullible, even if crypto currency is the real thing (which it is!), not everything build around it is.

Superbowl Commercial for Bitcoin Cash $5M

    Posted: 25 Nov 2017 10:27 AM PST

It cost about $5M for a 30 second Superbowl commercial. When you talk about exposure and awareness I don't think you can get any better. Any thoughts on everyone trying to raise that and someone with some great video editing skills putting together a video?! It sounds like a lot but putting Bitcoin Cash in the face of that many people would yield huge benefits for adoption? I'm willing to put in $1K for sure. BCH is bigger than just profits, it's changing the way we do everything.
