$MYST become first project to launch on IQ Protocol + Announce more Exit Nodes than TOR Posted: 14 Jan 2022 08:33 AM PST Hey all, I'd like to share 2 pieces of news from Privacy Protocol Mysterium ($MYST) released this month. 48 hours ago, the project announced on Twitter that they have reached an exciting technical milestone by achieving more Exit Nodes than TOR! With over 11325 providers running Mysterium nodes. Larger node distribution means fewer attack vectors and the ability for us regular joes and business customers to use residential I.P's from almost any location on the planet. Within the last day, $MYST has also integrated with new Defi Framework IQ Protocol as part of their tokenomics 2.0 rework. IQ Protocol is built by the original PARSIQ team and allows anyone to earn passive income from renting digital assets for the project use-cases (for MYST this would be node staking / and Privacy Network access) Essentially this partnership offers non-inflationary staking as users simply profit from the token/NFT's original use case as opposed to generating tokens in an unsustainable manner/ or as "loss leaders" to get users onto centralized platforms. Overall I think this is an exciting step forward in creating a positive long-term ecosystem for DeFi and Privacy crypto. There are 30+ projects currently waiting to be launched on IQ Protocol at the time of writing. [link] [comments]

I just dumped all my meme coins and bought ethereum! Did I do the right thing? Posted: 14 Jan 2022 09:59 AM PST I've only ever really owned meme coins. But based on research, most people say that's a bad move. So I decided to get rid of them all and go with ethereum. And this is a long term move. Am I doing things correctly (don't roast me, educate me). Thank you! [link] [comments]

Exploring the Ecosystem 1: High-level L2 Overview Posted: 14 Jan 2022 05:40 AM PST Hello /r/Ethereum, This is going to be the first in hopefully a long line of informational posts about the Ethereum ecosystem. I'm not planning much rhyme or reason to what I cover, but with each post I hope to give a general introduction to the topic at hand and provide a springboard from which a reader can begin additional research. I want to be relatively unbiased in my research and I'll strive for correctness, but if you see something glaringly wrong please call it out so I can correct the record. The overall goal is not to do an exhaustive "deep dive" into a specific topic but rather to provide an introductory overview so that the reader is equipped to do additional research if they choose. So let's get into the first topic: High-level L2 Ecosystem Overview You've probably heard about "L2" by now; it's Ethereum's solution to the blockchain trilemma. Rather than try to do everything on mainnet, new cryptography concepts have enabled the off-loading of transaction execution to secondary networks called rollups. These secondary networks will be able to "inherit" the security of Ethereum mainnet while bundling thousands of transactions together for drastic fee savings. For more on the details and theory behind rollups, check out Polynya's blog: https://polynya.medium.com/ But enough about theory- what rollups exist today? What differentiates them? What risks are there? First, some useful resources: https://l2fees.info/ - A simple overview of what some common actions cost on several rollups compared to Ethereum mainnet https://l2beat.com/ - An incredibly useful site aggregating all sorts of up-to-date information about layer-2s https://defillama.com/chains – Statistics aggregator for DeFi. Great for comparing TVL between chains and rollups. ethl2s.com - Quick reference for all sorts of L2 information including fiat onramps, bridges, wallets, and apps. Now, the major players in the rollup space:
Hopefully I've given each major rollup a fair summary. I highly recommend reading the information on l2beat.com to understand where each rollup stands in terms of adoption and security. If you'd like to try one out, evaluate your own security needs relative to the value of your investment, and proceed accordingly. If you find an ecosystem you enjoy, pay close attention to it! New things are happening nearly every day in this space and staying abreast of all the updates is like drinking from a firehose. If you have questions, comments, or concerns please leave a comment and I'll be happy to expand on what I've written. [link] [comments]

Coinbase gave me the greenlight to stake, debating if I should Posted: 14 Jan 2022 09:06 AM PST I own just a little over one whole Ether coin. Perhaps not much compared to many but I'm mulling over if I should stake some or all of it. Naturally my main concern is having to lock it in until 2.0 drops. But the potential gain is very attractive. My intention with Ether is purely using it as a hedge and so I lean towards longterm hold with it. Interested to hear thoughts. Should I lock it in for growth or better off with the amount I have leaving it free and observing the price flux throughout the coming year? Cheers & thank you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jan 2022 05:06 AM PST Looking to invest in some layer 2's to take advantage of the lull in time until eth sharding happens. I like polygon , what are y'all's opinions on some quality high potential layer 2's? [link] [comments]

Alternative Vitalik poll for the Ethereum community Posted: 14 Jan 2022 09:58 AM PST Poll for Ethereum community. You wake up in 2035, and 80% of all transactions + savings in the world are in one currency that is not ETH. Which would you prefer it to be? [link] [comments]
quick question about 51% attack Posted: 14 Jan 2022 09:54 AM PST so let's suppose that I do a 51% attack , I send 1 eth to binance, convert it into monero and send it back to me, then I transmit my version of the chain and everything goes as planned. can't binance get that 1 eth back? (since it has the signed transaction where I send 1 eth to binance, it just has to retransmit it ) [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Jan 2022 09:02 AM PST Ok dont make fun of me, i only look because its funny. But it seems like the conversations for yahoo finance have been removed for all crypto. Anyone have any idea why? Googling this is hell because either i suck at it or i just suck at it. Thanks for any info! [link] [comments]
