Crypto vs. Stocks - The Key Differences to Consider for a Beginner Investor

    Posted: 15 Jan 2022 04:43 AM PST

The following guide explores the difference between cryptocurrency and stocks to determine their fundamental differences and understand why investors might choose one over the other: What Is The Difference Between Crypto And Stocks?

Looking at their most rudimentary differences, stocks represent an ownership interest in a business while cryptocurrencies' values are generally determined by supply and demand. The guide above also explores several other factors that differentiate cryptocurrencies and stocks apart from each other:

    • Ownership
    • Governance
    • Volatility
    • Performance
    • Trading Hours
    • Use Case

Before you decide to invest or diversify your crypto portfolio, here are a few things to consider: risk, time and management - as well as how to allocate your portfolio and who will manage it.

A mechanism for authorizing apps to spend BCH automatically on your behalf?

    Posted: 15 Jan 2022 08:09 AM PST

I'm thinking about how I would architect an app - ANY app - that I wanted to use to pay BCH out to people automatically. I see two issues with having to make that app it's own specific wallet:

    1. As a user, I would have to fund it separately from my regular hot wallet
    2. As a developer, I would be responsible for developing/maintaining wallet software

I know there are probably libraries to do this for me, but is there no interface wherein I can access (e.g.) the Bitcoin.com wallet, and tell it to pay to X address the amount of Y satoshis?

This would almost be like a one-time validation: "Do you want to allow MYAPP to spend BCH out of your wallet for you?" and then as a user I don't have to think about more than simply my hot wallet. As a developer, I don't have to worry about keeping up to date with wallet best practices, or implementing sufficient whatever myself.

It's almost like this would be OAuth for spending crypto. Is there any type of standard out there that allows me to do this?
