    Serious question… can you mine with dial up Internet?

    My dad lives way way way out in rural Michigan and needs to use dialup internet. There is no cellular signal. He is interested in Starlink but it's not available. He is completely off the grid and I'd like to move my farm there (nearly 1GH). I would have free power for the entire rig. Only problem would be dialup. Thoughts?

    Edit: in case you're curious about the power situation, he has a solar array paired with batteries and a generator. My rig is decently efficient and uses just under 3000W with cooling, and he says supplying it 24/7 should be no problem. He lives on a river and we have considered a hobbyist project to build a small footprint hydro solution as well, just for fun.

    yet another burnt spiltter cable. only a 69W load!!

    this rig has been running fine for 6 months. 12 polaris cards on 2x1000 EVGA 6 rails each. miner restarted on its own, i happened to be sitting right beside it when it rebooted. it was currently running 6 days straight without a restart on hive os. watchdog detected gpu 1 dead. rebooted with 11 gpus. i took a quick look, and the fans were not spinning. riser was fine, and 2 led's lit up. RGB on the card was lit up. just no fans and not detected at all. I pulled the card, put it in windows test bench, worked fine. put it back in the rig and no go. no fans spinning and 11gpus. checked cables and discovered spiltter had burned. card was only using 69W!! riser powered by 6pin. both spilt off a single line off the EVGA. replaced the spiltter and its up and running again, riser is fine, psu is fine, gpu is fine. just goes to show. these cheapassed spiltters can go anytime even with no load on em. please check your rigs frequently. As a habit about once a week i will touch the connections for any heat. these are always cool to the touch. just decided to go today for whatever reason. luckily i was nearby and no fires. altho rig restarted fine with 11 and this card just wasnt powered anymore.

    Can I have both an AMD and Intel GPU on my PC?

    My step dad works at a school and they happened to have some PCs they were going to throw away. My step dad, Jesse gave me the old 5-6 PCs they have there so I could mine crypto with it. It's an Intel HD Graphics 3000 on all of them. I was wondering if I could have my AMD Radeon RX 580 along with those. Is that possible?

    GTX 1070 hashrate drops to ~5MH/s unless I'm watching videos, then it mines at full capacity, what the hell.

    Power limit 70%

    Core +200

    Memory +200

    Doing the same thing witch stock settings too. Mining for quite a while, this started happening few days ago. Ran some benchmarks, everything is fine, no crashing, artifacts etc., no idea what's happening, like it needs some little trigger to start mining normally.. I can leave playing one video on the loop in the background all the time, but it's just so weird.

    Is there a way to bypass the LHR on the 3070ti?

    I currently have a 3060ti and wanted to buy a 3070ti, but saw that a 3070ti nets me less money than the 3060ti(my 3060ti mines at 60mh). So I was wondering if there was some way where I could bypass the LHR?

    Help me set up my Rig. Hive OS 2 3070 and 5700xt

    Ok so I have two 3070 and 1 5700xt. I have two motherboard options of a H110M gaming with an i5 7500 or a Gigabyte B550, with a cpu still to buy. I have a Ubit 6 Pack Latest PCI-E GPU Riser Express on order. A 1000w psu as well. I'm trying to use hive OS for this and and older GPU for my main rig since I don't game very much. Whats my best options thus far? Use the i5 7500 and the H100m or use the B550 and buy a cheap Ryzen to run it? Looking to mine eth and convert to BTC if possible to avoid gas fees. I'm very new to the hive OS system so idk how it all works. Been normally mining with 2miners with the 5700xt and one 3070. Thank you in advance for all the help

    Should I use overclocked Radeon VII's?

    I'm getting ready to build my first mining rig, and I saw that overclocking the Radeons gives a hashrate very close to the 3090's. Because it'll be overclocked, will that make it burn up eventually? Would I be better off getting a GPU that isn't overclocked? I would love to avoid paying 1400 for a GPU when Radeons are half that price currently.

    Help me! Having a issue. With 2 gpu ‘s my rig is mining. Once I add another one it goes offine and says gpu driver error, no temps on Hive os. On my mining Monitor it says message issuing pre-check & smu may not be in the right state. Any help or tips??

    Hi guys, I'm on 400mh now, hiveos mining to nicehash on assorted 1xxx series on a msi c236a workstation motherboard using 3pcs of 1 to 4 pcie extender, for total of 12 gpu. And another 2 on a second rig, and a 3060 running nicehash quickminer on my personal computer.

    I been doing this for only 2 months.

    Should i continue building up my rig? Eth 2.0 is in june 2022 right. Or should i just put money to crypto hodl or...?

    Can I plug a surge protector into an extension cord

    I need to use an outlet from the other side of the room and was wondering if I can plug a surge protector into an extension cord or do I need to plug it directly into the wall. It's a beefy surge protector rated for I believe over 2000 joules. Also the extension cord is 12 guage 15 foot.

    I'm running about 1200 watts through it.

    My other option would be to plug the surge protector into the wall and then use 2 extension cords from surge protector to both of my PSUs.

    Anyone selling any of there used gpu’s

    I'm going to be 100% honest here. I wanted to get a good priced pc but the gpu market is sky high. And I took an interest in gpus leading up to me being here and everyone had every gpu basically available. Does anyone have any gpu of there's that they would be ok selling for a bit on the low end to me? (I'm sorry to basically beg like this yet I can't find a way to get an affordable gpu)
