    And let me tell you something, I believe that cryptocurrency and DeFi have the potential to do that. I mean if we didn't believe in what these spaces are capable of doing, we wouldn't be here right now. Personally, I gave up on banks. I can't see myself investing or saving my money in a bank account anymore.

    First of all, I think that we all know that the cybersecurity of the banks can't match what DeFi platforms can offer right? So this leads us to the fact that DeFi has the potential to take over from this point of you. And based on what blockchain technology can give us, DeFi platforms can succeed in developing high security platforms with ease.

    Also, I think that the yielding of DeFi can't be matched by any of the centralized finance institutions. So when it comes to profitability, I don't think we need to worry about that, especially that we have some new promising projects that are working on developing a bigger vision of DeFi 2.0, like New Order DAO, which is coming this Thursday on MISO. This project is set to operate as a launchpad for numerous DeFI projects in the next 2 years.

    So finally. I believe we shouldn't underestimate what DeFi and crypto can do. Once people get used to these platforms, I think that they'll be changing how the financial world will look like. I'm not saying that banks to disappear, but they'll be facing a huge threat in the form of a revolution on centralization and its institutions.

    Cryptocurrency investors are hoping for a Santa Claus rally, which typically refers to stock market prices increasing during the holiday season into the new year.

    Background: Most cryptos reached all-time highs last month, but the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has seemed to push back against many cryptos. A Santa Claus rally is now in doubt.

    Bitcoin in Focus: Last year, Bitcoin experienced a Santa Claus rally with the price soaring during the holidays and into 2021.

    Half Glass Empty: But that good sentiment is not for every coin. Last year, XRP did not experience a Santa Claus rally.

    Final Thoughts: Unlike the stock market, the crypto world doesn't have decades of data to properly measure a Santa Claus rally. However, some investors are still hopeful that one will come in 2021.

    Terra Overtakes Dogecoin's Market Cap And Becomes A Top 10 Crypto After Hitting All-Time High

    Terra (CRYPTO: LUNA) — a blockchain with smart contract support and its own decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem — overtook Dogecoin's (CRYPTO: DOGE) market cap and became the tenth-largest cryptocurrency project.

    What Happened: Terra's current market cap is about $26.8 billion while Dogecoin's is $24.7 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data. This means that Terra pushed Dogecoin off of the cryptocurrency Olympus and became the tenth-largest cryptocurrency in the world.

    Terra is a Cosmos (CRYPTO: ATOM)-based blockchain taking on Ethereum(CRYPTO: ETH). It hit an all-time high of over $70 on Friday but was at $68.71 Friday afternoon at publication, up 7.30% in the past 24 hours.

    The network is primarily used to create algorithmic stablecoins pegged to various fiat currencies and its native LUNA coin is used to mint those tokens as well as to pay for transaction fees and participate in the network's governance.

    Terra is currently the fifth-largest smart contract-enabled blockchain with Ethereum leading the way, followed by Solana (CRYPTO: SOL), Cardano (CRYPTO: ADA) and Polkadot (CRYPTO: DOT).

    Terra's price started rising after the protocol's Columbus-5 upgrade on Nov. 30, which activated a burn mechanism that removes LUNA from circulation.

    The pool of coins used to mint the protocol's UST stablecoin was burned and all the LUNA spent for minting more of it will be burned in the future. This resulted in a new deflationary pressure on the coin that spurred significant investor interest, not unlike the effect that EIP-1559 had on Ethereum investors.

    I think that the performance a project is related perfectly correlated to the connection between it and its investors.

    Let's take a moment and think about it. I mean if there's a strong connection between a project and its surroundings, things will eventually go smoother. Especially if these investors are having a say in the way the project's going to perform.

    This is why we are witnessing a rise in the projects that adapt governance tokens. In fact, investors are becoming fans of this kind of investments. This is where they get the chance to participate in the designing the strategies and the outcome of their investment.

    This kind of projects is mostly taking place in the DeFi sector. Which means that investors will be deciding directly how they want the project to act upon the next event or so.     This title sums up all the posts I've been seeing that past couple days (and in previous dips).

    9 times out of 10 the person posting these posts is a teen/young adult that's panicking.

    ​

    This happens all the time in crypto. Don't panic and use this as an opportunity to learn and understand how to protect yourself for the next time.

    ​

    I learned this a while ago and saw that DeFi can help out a lot in dip. This is why I invested so much into things like ALGO and I keep some funds on the side for new projects with back up like a New Order since they'll launch on Thursday on SushiSwap's Miso.

    Disregard all panic posts and don't follow the FUD. Just DeFi, HODL and DCA and you"ll be just fine.

    How do I buy altcoins without Eth??

    So my question is how the hell do I buy altcoins if for example I have $50, right? And to buy them first I need Eth and when i want to transfer/convert from Eth to chosen altcoin gas fee is fucking more than the amount of eth i have... is there alternate way to buy the fucking altcoins without eth?
