It turns out that "anyone-can-spend" Segwit transactions are real after all

On anyone-can-spend Pay-to-Taproot outputs before activation

    https://b10c.me/blog/007-spending-p2tr-pre-activation/

It's unknown who created the fifth P2TR output with a value of 100.000 sat.

We demonstrate the spending of P2TR outputs before the taproot softfork activates by constructing a non-standard transaction that is consensus valid. The mining pool f2pool.com helps by including the non-standard transaction in a block.

The first output donates the full input amount of 159.087 sat (about 50 USD at the time of writing) to brink.dev to support open-source Bitcoin development. The transaction purposefully doesn't pay a miner fee to maximize the donation amount. The second output is an OP_RETURN output with a link to this blog post. This makes it possible for someone finding the anyone-can-spend transaction to learn more about why the P2TR outputs were spendable before Taproot activation.

Could Bitcoin Cash be destined to fail no matter what?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2021 04:42 AM PST

When the rich leave your town what settles down is poverty, the rich can afford the BTC fees, so could it be that if your coin is only dealing with poor people your coin is doomed to fail. And could be that the poor will have to find a way to participate on the rich people's coin otherwise get left behind, it almost sounds like the poor gotta follow the rich wherever they go. And in our current system at least in the US that is what actually happens.

Prediction: SmartBCH TVL will overtake Lightning Network TVL by June 2022

    Posted: 25 Dec 2021 06:40 PM PST

While BCH remains undervalued, I have been watching the phenomenal growth of SmartBCH. Then I saw this thread on r/ethfinance :

    https://np.reddit.com/r/ethfinance/comments/rm5uot/lightning_network_tvl_not_even_in_top_100/

After years of hype and development, Lightning network has a TVL of $169 million, while after only a few months, SmartBCH has nearly $39 million! It has tripled in the last two months! I know they're really apples and oranges, but if you want to compare "innovation" of BTC and BCH, I think it's a fair comparison.

If nothing else, I think they're fun numbers to track :)

Bitcoin Cash Care Bears are Here for Christmas Cheer..!

    Posted: 25 Dec 2021 12:45 PM PST

[showerthought] If BTC supporters really outnumbered BCH supporters 100:1 like the manipulated price ratio would have you believe, then this sub would be almost exclusively BTC content and BCH posts would be almost impossible to find here and trolls would have nothing to complain about

    Posted: 25 Dec 2021 04:15 PM PST

It's almost as if BTC supporters really don't outnumber BCH supporters after all and the price ratio is entirely fictional.

[showerthought] seems like Christmas would be a great time for the LN proponents to be tipping people in this sub like crazy to convince them LN is great

    Posted: 25 Dec 2021 12:03 PM PST

Don't complain about the lack of quality BTC / LN content in this sub if you refuse to create any yourself.

How do I remove BTC from Electron Cash?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2021 09:20 PM PST

So I am fairly new to BTC and I guess I had sent my BTC from a Electrum Wallet into a Electron Cash wallet, I can see my BTC on Electrum but it is watch only and my Electron Cash shows nothing. If I am understanding things correctly, my BTC is in Electron Cash but I can't see it because Electron Cash is BCC? Anyone able to help?
