    Current mining profits is insane!

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 06:35 AM PDT

With current BTC prices everyone should mine when their GPU is idle, honestly!

Seriously I don't understand why more gamers don't mine Cryptocurrencies, with tools such as NiceHash Quickmine that are supposed to be very safe, and have built in temperature controls to avoid excesssive wear and tear, who wouldn't want to make 30$ a week?! (2070S)

I'm sad to be so late to the party, honestly I should have been mining for a long time haha.

I'm curious, how do you guys handle your mining rewards? Converting to fiat because BTC is at an all time high? Or keeping it in BTC for potential higher values in the future? Or a mix of both haha?

    Only getting 30 mhs on a 3090!

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 07:17 AM PDT

I picked up and open box gigabyte vision 3090 from microcenter at a decent price. There it in my mining rig and it's only mining at 30 mhs. It's through a riser and have updated drivers.

Am I missing something simple or is this guy a dud?

Every time NBMiner has an update...

Every time NBMiner has an update...

....it doesn't work on my cards. At times my hashrate is even half of what it was before !

It seems only version 39.2 does it for me, with my RTX 3060 12GB (LHR) and RTX 3060 Ti (non-LHR) I get around 95-96 MH. With versions 39.6 and 39.7 I get peaks to 97 and even once 99 MH ! ... but then the hashrate only keeps dropping, even to 12 MH for the RTX 3060...

And yet, I read so many good things about the newer version on Reddit. I must be the only one with a card where these version don't work...

Yes, I played around with the options, like "lhr": "75,100" and such (I use HiveOS), but unfortunately it's not helping.

Anyone else experiencing these issues ? And came up with a solution ? ...

    For anyone who's interested:

Question regarding the 8-months left for mining

Hi, coming from this post https://www.reddit.com/r/gpumining/comments/q8vkai/looks_like_we_get_8_monthes_left_of_eth/ read weeks ago, it's stated that by February they'll start implementing the merging code that'll be finished 4 months later (June).

Someone might be tempted to argue "they've been saying that for years" but let's just picture it's true. My question is: isn't it supposed that even after merging to 2.0, it's gonna be some sort of hybrid where both miners and stakers cohabit for months to come? or do I miss something?

My FUD here's because I'm planning on buying more gpu's but they probably won't hit ROI by June, needing a couple more months. Any enlighten greatly appreciated.

Attached some pictures of my rig if you so feel like dropping any input about it too. TY.

    Please explain these TXN Fees?

I just received a payout from HiveOS but the amount that went into my Kraken wallet is less than my payout. I thought HiveOS covers the TXN fee or am I missing something?

It looks like 2 TXNs, Hive to Wallet ... Wallet to Exchange and the 2nd txn has a cost associated with it.

Best strategy for mining while on vacation?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2021 12:14 PM PDT

What kind of mining setup is ideal to leave unattended for 2 weeks+? I am currently running win10 and nbminer. Nbminer is good at recovering from GPU failures and restarting mining, but Windows is sometimes fickle. I've had a few instances of Windows crashing and having to hold down the power button to shut down and then reboot. I cannot connect with TeamViewer when this happens.

    Is the solution HiveOS?

    I'm apparently getting 35mh/s at only 100w with my LHR 3060's - is this normal? 350k eff/watt

    Posted: 03 Nov 2021 11:36 AM PDT

I was experimenting with OC settings with my LHR 3060's (5 of them), and was steadily reducing the PL until I saw a reduction in hashrate. I managed to get it down to 60%, pulling just over 100w each. They are all between 35 and 35.5mh/s and have been stable for a week now. Temps are about 52-55 degrees with 70% fan in an open rig.

    -200 core, +1100 mem, 60%PL, 70% fans

I know these cards are capable of 35mhs, but at 125-130w. Anybody else getting these results with only 100w?
