How do I see what's in a smart contract?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 08:40 AM PST

So I'm learning solidity and stopped for a bit to ponder. If I wanted to see the smart contract for a balance pool on etherscan, is there a way to do it? How would I deploy a coin that would essentially be a balance pool of two token pairs? Would it be a legitimate coin based off of that? Maybe it can run strategic buying and staking modes to increase its value? To make it self sustaining? And eventually reach DAO status by buying up enough Ethereum for a node? Then make a front end for some special reason?

    3080ti LHR.

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 07:54 AM PST

I have been mining with a RTX 3080ti for a little bit and messing with settings to increase hashrate a bit. I'm using hiveos and wondering what may be resetting my uptime. When I was using the top cardinality, I was hashing 82-85mh/s, and stayed up for a few days. Changed setttings and get 85-87mh/s but it resets miner every day in half. It moves up and down from 280w-my PL of 300w. What can be resetting my uptime? Is it normal to have it fluctuate consistently? Does it matter if it resets every couple of days?I have 1660ti that don't move at all. New to mining thank you.

Can I claim ENS for multiple unused names on my wallet?

Can I claim ENS for multiple unused names on my wallet?

I've registered for 3 names years ago, but only used one. That one has registrant and controller set to my wallet address, with the resolver 0x4976fb03C32e5B8cfe2b6cCB31c09Ba78EBaBa41.

However, I've got two more names on the same address, yet without registrant and controller set. I don't remember what I did as it was years ago, but I can see those addresses with my working address in My Account on ENS Domains website when I have my wallet connected. However if I click them it looks like this:

    https://preview.redd.it/7v8os03bcd281.jpg?width=2974&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59041ab7d3af4fd0384efcc7743fc273d3635c04

What exactly is going on? I have the addresses listed, though I can't set anything, and can't update to the new resolver either. (everything grayed out) If I've just bought the addresses but haven't set the registrant, why does it also say "no address found" for controller too? If that's because that I'm using old resolver, why is migrate/set buttons grayed out?

I've received some ENS on my address, but I was just wondering is there anything I could do with these addresses that I've registered almost 4 years ago to get some ENS?

    Selfdestructed contracts

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 10:26 AM PST

I've read that when a contract selfdestructs, it wont have code, so you can't interact with it.

How does it work? Why we can't update contract code because the blockchain is inmutabe but we can remove its code?

    PEOPLE's Wild Ride

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 09:58 AM PST

Something is brewing in the depths of Crypto Twitter and Discord folks. In case you don't know the very short and bizarre story behind $PEOPLE, it's a fun one.

-ConstitutionDAO forms within two weeks, to buy a private copy of the US constitution from Sotheby's. -Contributors deposit ETH @ 1:1,000,000 for PEOPLE governance token.
    -Raises <$48,000,000.
-Fails to win for silly reasons, chaos ensues (delicious).
-Everyone is offered their money back minus gas fees.
-Those that keep token are treated to a cool 30x on investment (down now).
-Turns out Chinese influencers form PeopleDOA with the idea of fostering international freedom in line with cypher punk movement. Will use GitCoin and ENS as examples.
-Team is interested in "one person, one vote", ENS integration, lowering language barriers, spawning specific purpose "miniDAOs".

Not really suggesting purchase as I was an original contributooooooor. Great for challenging your patience though!

It's unique stories like this that makes ETH so compelling!

Buying crypto with a UK bank account while in the US

    Posted: 27 Nov 2021 06:56 PM PST

Background: My wife and I lived and worked in the London for a couple of years and still have some wages left in a bank account.

I want to be able to use some/all of that money to buy ETH/BTC. Does anyone here have any experiences with this sort of transfer?

If so, what platform did you use? (I tried Binance using a VPN but had identity confirmation issues.

Is there any tax issues I would need to be aware of if I were able to pull this off?

Does anyone know of a project doing something related to scientific papers / viewership / publishing on Ethereum (or elsewhere, for that matter)?
