I chose Litecoin for my first crypto investment and hate that people tell me I made a stupid decision.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 08:26 PM PDT

    Hey everyone!

After a lot of thought and studying a bunch of tips and analytics on cryptocurrency, I finally made my first crypto investment. A week ago, I bought my first Litecoins, and I won't trade it in the foreseeable future, considering it a long-term investment.

To be honest, my decision was primarily based on the reputation of Litecoin, its affordable price, and the fact that there hasn't been a single hack since its inception. In the future, I plan to extend my portfolio with other altcoins with a strong reputation, but for now, I'm comfortable with the LTC.

I only regret that I told a few of my friends about my choice. They believe it would be wiser to invest in the original and not in the copy or choose a more hype coin. My best friend told me that it wouldn't help me earn money. In response to my argument about stable growth and safety, I only hear that LTC has no perspective, and I'm too careful. When I reminded him that he lost almost 5K last year on crypto, he only said that this is normal on the crypto market, which helped him improve his strategy.

I don't understand why people are so impatient to lose their hard-earned money by investing in unverified coins. I'm personally scared to risk my savings, knowing how hard I worked for it. Losing everything in a week, it's my worst nightmare, even if it's only about a couple of thousand.

Even my decision to invest in crypto was reconsidered several times, I was thinking about other options like stocks or bank deposits. I subscribed to different communities that provide advice and crypto analytics and telegram channels. It took me more than three months to study the crypto market and come to a conclusion. And I'm pissed that people make fun of me for being reasonable.

I'd like to know how you handle this kind of situation because everything that comes to my mind is to stop interacting with those who criticize my choice.

How to transfer Litecoin from an old Lite coin wallet to Ledger Litecoin account?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2021 10:58 AM PDT

As the title says, I'm struggling to transfer a single Litecoin out of an old Litecoin wallet (Litecoin v0.8.6.1-beta)

I would like to try and send it to my Ledger Litecoin account but each transaction seems to fail or rather, the transaction doesn't even seem to make it to the network.

The transaction id's of the three transactions I have tried have been:

    1. a4f4f7424d55141148236096b19f2dcd6a6c108ec47d684a4f39023a3cd8d332
    2. cc7cd56d2f2f1e730d8a534d6b6471c82c5e2d062c436575bf6c2a93723f77b4
    3. 37b84f86827402bc3d9588615eed065eb825fef6c83dd0bae17891b652b95aa0

All sent to the same address with different transaction fees: LKGpCraVJFk8tK12ywsju8byPN5bTuPPhH

What's interesting, is that in the old wallet it shows my balance as being 1 minus the sum of each of the transactions, as expected if the transaction was successful. However, when I check the value of the old wallet (address the above transactions were made from) it still shows as 1, and the transactions Id's above cant be found.

In a final attempt, I tried backing up my wallet and opening up the wallet.dat file in a newer Litecoin wallet on a different PC. In the new wallet, I can see each of the three outgoing transactions, with status unconfirmed, however, my available balance is 0. My guess is I can't transfer a Litecoin by simply transferring the wallet.dat file.

    So I have 3 questions:

    1. Can I somehow transfer the Litecoin to a newer wallet on the same or transfer via USB to a different pc that can send to segwit or native segwit addresses?
    2. Do I still actually have access to the Litecoin?
    3. Will the three transactions eventually get voided, and even my old wallet will show as having the full Litecoin available? Important to note I abandoned the most recent transaction in the new wallet (wasn't an option in the old one) to see what happened.

Any help is much appreciated :D

'Litecoin A Decade of Resilience' - by AI

    A must read from AI..

Since the beginning of this year alone, the Litecoin network has already processed over 100 billion dollars worth of transactions, with recent daily amounts ranging between 150 million to over 1 billion dollars per day. Officially turning a decade old today, Litecoin has entrenched itself as a heavyweight in the world of cryptocurrency transactions, a feat that was accomplished by a combination of unique factors and notably, a multi-year process of building trust.

In the world of cryptocurrency, one in which only a handful of coins have persisted while most have failed, Litecoin's success over the years can be described as an interesting case that's worthy of being studied.

    Sending from Coinspot to ledger

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 11:52 PM PDT

    Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster in this sub. Quick question for any Australians or Kiwis in the sub (or anyone that uses Coinspot really). Has anyone had any issues with sending LTC to their Ledger Nano X? I keep getting an invalid address error, but can't work out why. Any thoughts?

Cheers all. Keep up the good work

    Create a LTC vanity address

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 01:50 PM PDT

Is the vanity tab on the liteaddress.org the way you create a address with some characters you want or is it referring to something else?

I want to make a public address that has "beer" in it for example.

I can't figure out how to do it if that's what the tab is for.
