LHR Barrier 70% broken with lolMiner 1.33

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 01:55 PM PDT

It has been released the first autotune for rigs, with lolMiner 1.33. It really have lot of nice improvements that we should read carefully:

It has been broken the 70% barrier, we are talking around 73% in 3060, 3060TI and 3070. In the case of the GDDR6X memories is the first to be more than 70%, between 70%-71%.

It has add the option of Full Automatic LHR Detection, so you will not need any Extra Parameters for configuration. That will help miner to just do "click & mine".

You can use same Flightsheet for NO LHR Rigs and LHR Rigs.

The developer has said to use the driver Nvidia 470.74 for max perfomance, or will be problems. For HiveOS it is really easy to install it:

    nvidia-driver-update 470.74

    Auto LHR lolMiner 70%+ (73%) https://medium.com/@jgonzi/auto-lhr-lolminer-70-7f0030fce48d

The Windows version is also working with last Nvidia 472

3060 TI LHR dropping hashrate in NBminer

    Posted: 02 Oct 2021 08:18 AM PDT

I been in crypto for a few years now, but not into mining and the only mining I have done was in NiceHash for when my PC was not being used, now me and a friend are slowly building a 3060lhr machine and the thing I want to ask about is...my MSI 3060 TI after I put the -lhr 68-69-70 in NBminer gives me around 32MH without me overclocking it, if I start overclocking it and remove the LHR it gives me around 31 MH, but when I both overclock it and put the -lhr command instead of getting around 40MH as it should it goes down slowly to like 14MH, any ideas? This is my exact model https://www.msi.com/Graphics-Card/GeForce-RTX-3060-Ti-GAMING-X-8G-LHR

    System:

    Windows 10, Intel i5 3rd gen, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 650W PSU gold

    The overclocks I have done are in Afterburner - PL 75, CC - 420, MC + 1190

How could I add more gpus to my power supply. It has 4 pci-e cable but my 2 gpu currently take them. I’m looking to add a other gpu. Any adapters I could use?

Here I am with my newly started 2 RX580s and around 62MHs just to make a start and seeing you crazy people talk about GHs and THs. New goal, reach GHs first.

It's ugly af but it's mine and works.

Got my first 3070 - very solid miner

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 09:18 PM PDT

I have 3090s and 3080s and dealing with the memory temps has been a pain. Slapped a new 3070 in there, excellent hash at 62, 44 temp and fans barely running all while using extremely low power with efficiency in the 480's. Wish my rig was 20 of these entirely to mitigate heat.

    Rig randomly shutting down

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 10:41 PM PDT

    Hi all.

I have recently added 2 new GPU to an existing rig. Details below.

With the two new GPU's (GPU 3 and 4) running, the rig just shuts down after about an hour. The first 850W PSU that has the Mobo connected switches off. The second PSU remains on. It powers on via a ATX Y-cable so I would have expected it to switch off too if it got the command from the MOBO.

I have tried 2 different 850 PSU's, both do the same thing.

Tried both Windows 7 and 10 both do the same.

Edit: Does the same on T-rex ver 21 and the latest 23.2.

    Setup as below.

    • Mobo - Gigabyte Aorus A520 Elite
    • CPU AMD 1600
    • 16GB Memory
    • 500GB SSD
    • Windows 10 Pro and previously Windows 7
    • GPU 1 - Gigabyte RTX3060Ti Eagle - On M.2 port. PL to 75% - connected to PSU 1
    • GPU 2 - Gigabyte RTX3060Ti Eagle - first PCIe16x slot. PL to 75% - connected to PSU 1
    • GPU 3 - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GAMING OC PRO 3.0 LHR Graphic Card - PCIe x 1 slot - connected to PSU 1
    • GPU 4 - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GAMING OC 2.0 LHR Graphics Card - Via a 4 to 1 card in second PCIe x 16 slot - connected to PSU 1
    • GPU 5 - Gigabyte 1550Ti - Via a 4 to 1 card in second PCIe x 16 slot - connected to PSU 2
    • GPU6 = EVGA 1550Ti - Via a 4 to 1 card in second PCIe x 16 slot - connected to PSU 2

My thoughts were originally PSU, but power draw is about 600/650W from the PSU and 2 new PSU's do the same.

Then I thought one of the cards could be faulty so I fired the rig up using one at ta time with the original set up. Both ran over a day withot shutting down.

Then I thought windows 7 was possibly the problem so I did a clean install of windows 10. Same problem.

When windows restars it does not say Windows was not shut down correctly, which is funny because if it was going through a normal shutdown, then both PSU's would have shut down.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

    Open to suggestions.

GPU on riser won’t function properly

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 09:52 PM PDT

Ok, I posted a few days ago cause I was having trouble mining on 2 GPUs. I've narrowed down the issue to the fact that my system seems quite unstable with a GPU on the riser. Details: MSI MAG B460m Bazooka motherboard, 4G/crypto enabled in bios. Has 1 16x PCIe, and 2 1x PCIe slots. 2 cards: 3070 XC3 LHR and ASUS TUF 1660 super. Both mine fine on motherboard slot with nothing on the riser. When one is on the riser, it sometimes identifies in HiveOS as TU116 or GA104 (LHR) and HiveOS can't control fan speed, oc settings, and it won't mine. In windows it sometimes works for a few hours but eventually crashes. I previously had a 3060 Ti and the same 1660 mining no issue 24/7 in windows or hive. I'm using ver008s risers with PCIe cables powering the everything. I actually have two risers and tried both PCIe x1 slots with both of them, and swapped which card was on the riser, same thing always happens. I suspect either motherboard isn't liking it, or the risers aren't operating correctly, but again I had it stable for months. I tried a fresh install of HiveOS and it didn't help. Seems like in googling this, it's a fairly common issue but with no real solution. Help?

    DIY "Clean room"

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 10:43 AM PDT

I'm in the process of simultaneously building and rebuilding my first rig and would like to fully (95%) enclose it with a positive pressure clean flow of air. I've seen people use grow tents for something similar, but they are expensive and i'm unsure of the airflow those fans produce.

Are there any recommended fans/filters/design? Currently I'm planning to get two box fans for intakes with a slot to place a furnace filter in front of each, but again I don't have a good base point for airflow needed or possible dead zones in certain designs.

Rig doesn't want to boot with multiple GPUs anymore.. Help appreciated

    Posted: 01 Oct 2021 02:14 PM PDT

Sorry for what is probably a very beginner question but i can't figure this out after a few hours now...I came home from getting a 3080ti and when i hooked everything up to my two power supplies and hit power on i get the following issues....

    Symptoms:

    • Rig boots fine with one GPU
    • mobo throws a QLED for bios -or- a QLED for Video (CPU doesn't support integrated graphics)
    • Video QLED occurs when two cards (that worked before) are plugged in together)
    • BIOS LED is when i try to use a different power supply on a card and/or riser than i am with the mobo

    Setup:

    • ROG B450-F II Mobo / Ryzen 5 something CPU / Parallel miner 1200W (currently 900) PSU
    • 3x 6700 xt
    • 1x 6600 xt
    • 1x 3080 ti
    • Enabled 4G Decoding, link speed changed to Gen 2 & PCIE set to 4x.

All Attempts below are with the Parrallel PSu powering the Mobo, risers & Cards....

    • Attempt 1- (first) 6700 & riser - WORKS
    • Attempt 2- two 6700s plugged in - VGA QLED + white blinking lines on screen
    • Attempt 3- (second) 6700 & riser (slot 2)- WORKS
    • Attempt 4- (second) 6700 & riser (slot 4)- WORKS
    • Attempt 5- - VGA QLED and No white lines
    • Attempt 6- (repeat of attempt 3) (second) 6700 & riser (slot 2)- WORKS but after booting i had no video until i unplugged the hdmi and then plugged it back in to the GPU....
    • Attempt 7- Both 6700s in the PCIE 1_1 & 1_2 -BOOT QLED
    • Attempt 8- Reset CMOS -> Both 6700s in the PCIE 1_1 & 1_2 -BOOT QLED again
    • Attempt 9- single 6700 in the 1_1 - Booted fine and typing this now... send help
    • Attempt 10- Updated BIOS link speed to Gen 2 & PCIE set to 4x. - Rig booted with BOTH 6700s!.. then when i tried to boot with a 3rd card it gave a BOOT QLED. I reverted back to 2 cards and was given the BOOT QLED again... Is this possibly a finicky board?
