3080 version with good vram temps? Posted: 14 Oct 2021 04:35 AM PDT Is there a guide on which 3080 has good vram temps? I have these following 3070 ti : MSI VENTUS OC X3, Colorful Ultra White, Zotac Trinity and Gamerock Palit. From those bunch, the Colorful performs the best (70-85C) and Zotac performs the worst (95-100C). Given that the 3080 and 3070ti both have GDDR6X with similar capacity, and they use the exact same cooler for 3080. Do you think this is reliable way to judge vram cooling performance in their 3080 versions? Changing Thermal Pads on Zotac 3080 and 3070ti Posted: 13 Oct 2021 09:15 PM PDT Changed thermal pads on both my 3080 and 3070ti. Though they were not thermal throttling as per hwINFO, 104C on memtemps on both seem to be too high for my liking ​ ​ Zotac Trinity LHR ​ Pretty straight forward. Cleaned the old thermal paste and repasted with Thermal Griz. Used GELID 2.0 mm for all thermal pads ​ https://preview.redd.it/nxafcwc4bct71.jpg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=961e098abf5b826cc2f6ecbff1eacd9ab28bc71a ​ Side panel TG off, temps dropped from 61C on core to 49C, Memteps: 104 to 64.2C ​ With Side Panel (NZXT H510 elite) ​ Usually getting 69-70 mh/s, not bad for an LHR card ​ Next Up is 3070ti AMP Holo ​ ​ 3070Ti AMP HOLO Repasted with: Thermal Grizz Thermal Pads: GELID 2.0 and 2.5mm For the MEM modules I used2.0 mm pads(as seen on the labels on the picture) while for the VRM I stacked 2.0 and 0.5 since I had no 2.5 mm pads available and it worked fine ​ From 58C down to 54C. 104C to 86C ​ Usually get around 52-54 mh/s with this card. Turned down the fan to 70% from 80% to reduce noise. Case is a little bit restricted as it is a miTX case (NR200P). It starts with 31 MHs and after a few monutes it starts falling in hashrate down to 25.4 or something. I replaced the card and other cards don't show that problem. It seems that my ISP is blocking Ethermine servers and others. Posted: 14 Oct 2021 07:21 AM PDT Hey guys! It seems that my ISP (VIVO - Brazil) is blocking Ethermine's servers. I can't connect to their pool when I try to mine on my gaming PC or connect to their website, though for some reason my rigs are connecting just fine (they're running MMPOS). Same happens when I try to access them through the phone on their mobile network, but when I use my secondary network (TIM - Brazil) I can connect to their website just fine. That started happening about a week ago, when I couldn't connect to SupportXMR. Is there any way to circumvent this besides a VPN? Do VPNs add too much delay? These seem like a good idea vs. buying a frame for just two devices: GPU Stand for Crypto Mining and Test Bench | Etsy My computer cannot sit on my desk. It must sit underneath it. I can't sit the cards on top of the case or move them any closer. They need to sit up on my desk. In order to make the distance I would need at least a 36" length of USB and PCI-E cable. I just want to remove the backplate and add thermal pads on the back of the card. But not sure if it is worth it. I've seen mixed results from google search.
