Posted: 16 Oct 2021 07:56 AM PDT Hey, relatively new miner here, I've got two rigs at the moment, one with 3 gpus and the other with 4. My 4 gpu rig is now using all the pcie and molex cables I've got in order to power the cards and risers. However, only ~400w of power is being used out of the 850w psu, and I'd like to expand if I can. I just don't know how to do it safely, like should I get pcie power splitters, should I use another power supply in tandem, or should I just build a new rig? [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 Oct 2021 07:37 AM PDT Hello everyone! I am new (born again) to the Crypto Mining scene. I did it a little bit back in 2013 for bitcoin, but havent touched it until yesterday. I am using an RTX 3060 - Asus ROG Strix OC 12GB model, and was wondering what the degradation is on the memory, GPU, etc with casual mining here and the for a couple of hours a day when I'm away from my desk. I have gone the route through MSI Afterburner of lowering the Power Limit to 75% and it runs at around 56C, I dont think it tops more than 59, 60C. I touched the back plate and its warm, but not hot to the touch. Would light gaming and the occasional couple of hours of mining degrade the cards performance? Thanks for info ahead of time and glad to be joining the community! [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Oct 2021 07:24 AM PDT Hello guys! I'm trying to mine with an rx580xt and is not mining. I can see the gpu on bios. Nvidia 1060 3gb ETC? Do they always run hot? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 05:35 AM PDT Hi I currently have a EVGA GTX 1060 3GB mining on hiveos flux 18.2 sol f75 c100 mem 800 pl 80 . This card has always run hot even after some new paste ,runs average about 72. Is this common? Any way I tried to go back to mining etc 10/1000/70w with phoenix miner v5.3b. But I keep getting a memory error . Can some one suggest a better miner and version ? did the dag file change on etc? This worked fine a month ago. [link] [comments]
Can I use a GTX 1080, a GTX 1070, and a GTX 1060 all / some of them in the same pc for added power? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 05:32 AM PDT This is a technical question. Can I use two or all of those is the same pc for mining? If yes, how would I go about doing it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Oct 2021 05:09 AM PDT Hi, Ive been using gMiner happily for many months. I have gMiner set fans to 90 when its running. When I exit (close the miner.exe command window) the fans rest to Auto (or lest they slow right down and get quieter again). Now, i have been looking at T-Rex because of the rest Api. Its all working fine, but when close the t-rex.exe command window the fans stay at their increased speed setting. is it possible to have t-rex reset the fans like gminer does on exit? .. or any workaround to achieve the same? Thanks (win 10, i9, 3x 1080ti, 1200w) [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 Oct 2021 02:59 AM PDT Hello miners. Lhr unlocking features of miners (I'm using nbminer at the moment) offer higher ethereum hashrates but they are so unstable on power draw. One second they pull 130w and right after they start pulling 190w etc. I watch the memory temp on my 3070 TI cards and they are going wild. One moment it's 73c and the next it's 82 so constantly going up and down around 10c. I also have a 3070 non lhr and the difference on max and min power draw is like 3-5w which is nothing. no temperature change at all like 0.5c between max and min. I know that constant temperature on a gpu is good for longer lifespan since there is no constant thermal expansion and contraction on components. And since the lhr unlock is so unstable, could this hurt the gpu memory badly ? Can an expert on this topic enlighten us ? Thank you all. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Oct 2021 08:27 PM PDT Anybody have any risers they've used with this board? Currently using 5/8 slots but cards are too thick to add 3 more. Any experience with a 4 way PCIE splitter on this board too? [link] [comments]

RTX 3080 LHR showing up as GA102 Posted: 15 Oct 2021 10:14 PM PDT I have a small rig that is having issues with one of the GPUs showing up as GA 102 in HiveOS. HiveOS is on the newest update and Nvidia drivers are updated. There are two FHR RTX 3080s on the rig that runs fine when the LHR card is not connected. I've tried replacing the riser and the same issue occurs. The card in question is the MSI Gaming Z Trio RTX 3080 LHR GA102-202-KD-A1 I'm looking to setting up the rig to dual mine on T Rex miner using the New Auto LHR detection for ETH and Ergo. However, this issue with GA102 is very persistent and has stopped my abiltiy to mine the card. I've heard some of the Gaming X cards need a bios flash to mine properly. Does this apply to the Gaming Z Trio? Is a Bios Flash needed? If so what bios do I use with the Gaming Z Trio LHR 3080? How do I get this thing to start mining properly? [link] [comments] |
