Dual Coin LHR Unlock: 35% ETH + 65% ERG stable Posted: 17 Oct 2021 01:21 AM PDT I know most of us wish it was 70% ETH and 30% altcoin, but I've noticed that the dual coin LHR unlock default values of 30% ETH + 70% altcoin are actually quite conservative, and you can push ETH quite a bit higher. Using --lhr-tune 35 in T-Rex I'm able mine 35% ETH + 65% ERG with my 3080 Ti rock stable, and only bumping into the lock around 37.5%. Haven't tested as much with RVN and CFX but assume similar if not greater results; wouldn't be surprised of 40% ETH + 60% RVN/CFX is possible, especially on linux. Currently getting around 43MH/s ETH + 171MH/s ERG @ 1980mhz, 962mV, 11400mhz memory (+1120), and 90% PL (310W). [link] [comments]

What Eth Mining Pools Do You Use And Why? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 06:53 PM PDT Like the title says what pools do you guys use? I'm curious becuase I want to maximize my profits to the best of my ability. I'm currently using F2Pool, I like the pool its great, but everywhere I read the pool fees tend to be on the high side of other pools. i was thinking of switching to Ethermine. I do however like the ability to withdrawal once a month whenever I want from F2Pool. [link] [comments]
Running very hot after reapplying thermal paste (cross post) Posted: 17 Oct 2021 04:46 AM PDT Hi there. Two days ago I opened up my Lenovo Legion 5 and reapplied thermal paste (corsair) and since then my tempature have gone from mid 60s playing games and mining to upper 80s. I dont understand what has caused this and I have tried unscrewing and reapplying the heat sink and it hasn't helped. Any ideas on what has caused this? [link] [comments]

Comparing 5 RTX 3080s LHR from 4 brands Posted: 16 Oct 2021 08:46 PM PDT I'm working on a new rig, and thought I'd share some early results. Gigabyte, MSI, Asus, and EVGA x2. Gigabyte: mclock 1200MHz, cclock -300MHz, pl 70%, core clock locked 1580MHz Asus: mclock 1200MHz, cclock -300MHz, pl 60%, core clock locked 1580MHz (Set to 60% PL because of temps) EVGA: mclock 1200MHz, cclock -300MHz, pl 70%, core clock locked 1580MHz MSI: mclock 1200MHz, cclock -300MHz, pl 80%, core clock locked 1580MHz The Asus and MSI both suffer from terrible temperature issues. I re-padded the MSI because it was the worst, and now it's almost on par with the GB. The MSI power is at 80%, because they code their power a bit differently than other brands (100% is 320w and is always the max, can't OC PL if you wanted to), so the scale is different. I have 4 more Gelid pads on the way, but they'll take a while to get here (They're 1/10th the price on Amazon @ $20 compared to newegg @$200 in Canada btw). The GB has been the best of the bunch, which considering what I've read from others suggests to me that I won the silicon lottery. The two EVGAs run almost identically, +/- < 1%. I have a 13gpu asrock MB, but I'm waiting for the CPU and memory to ship from China, so I'm using my faithful Z270 pro. I will say that it's buggy af when going above 4 video cards, even with BIOS settings tweaked. I'm unable to pass any audio except through ASIO drivers or bluetooth headset, and even then it's glitchy :-/ I also have 4 other cards I'll be adding once the asrock is ready to go, 3 3060s and a 1070. In theory the Z270 can take 8 cards, but I have 2 M.2 cards and a PCIe wifi. I'm also planning on going up to a total of 13 cards, and I know that in Windows you need to split brands above 8. If anyone can share some side by side comparisons of people running HiveOS and Windows, as in same rig but the differing hashrates from the two OSs, I'd appreciate it. I'd rather not buy AMD if I can avoid it. I'm hoping that after re-padding the other 4 cards I can split between RVN and ETH, since in the long run I'd like to hold both. For the time being, the temps are too high so I'm sticking with ETH. I have tried tweaking the OC, but better performance is counteracted by LHR. Batch:"C:\t-rex\t-rex.exe" -a ethash -o stratum+tcp://us2.ethermine.org:4444 -u **** -p x -w rig0 --log-path "C:\t-rex\logs\trex-eth.log" --pl 70,60,70,80,70 --fan 100,100,100,100,100 --cclock -300,-300,-300,-300,-300 --mclock 1200,1200,1200,1200,1200 --lock-cclock 1580 --no-new-block-info --autoupdate [link] [comments]

How wrong am I for going all in on 6600XT's? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 04:09 PM PDT Given that it is now "roughly" confirmed that we have 8 months'ish left to mine ETH I am tempted to sell my camera gear as I don't really have time for that hobby anymore. I am currently residing in South Korea where my options look like this for team red cards.
Considering that I pay ~$0.23 per KWH the 6600 seems like a no brainer as it is half the Mh/s & Wattage of a 6800 XT for 1/3 of the price. And while the added noise and points of failure are a potential concern, I am just wondering if there is anything major that I am missing. So far I am quite happy with the one 6600 XT that I added to my micro mining operation and I am eager to pull the trigger on 4-5 more of them but I figured I'll ask around first. Semi-advanced Calculator: Taxes, Fees, Increasing Electricity, Roi and more. Posted: 16 Oct 2021 05:10 PM PDT I made an excel calculator to make things easier. This is designed to be used in conjunction with something like whattomine, getting your revenue (set electricity cost to zero) from your site of choice amd inputting into the sheet along with things like electricity bills and taxes. This is made for the UK so I dont know if the tax part will be correct for other countries. It is fully unlocked and semi-well labelled so you can alter things to make then work for you if need be. If you have any feedback lmk. [link] [comments]

Profit calculators that consider LHR workarounds? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 10:41 AM PDT Hey guys, I just set up my first starter rig with a 3060Ti + 3070Ti (both LHR). As they are LHR I decided to begin mining RVN, but am now starting to consider whether there may be a more profitable setup/coin choice with these cards. My understanding is that Kapow is much harder on the GPUs and I've found that I have to run the 3070 fans quite high at 90% to get 40MH and temp ~70 deg. I'd also like these cards to last a couple years and not run them into the ground too soon. TRex and Nbminer have LHR workarounds for ETH, but I can't find any profit calculators that can take those into account. I assume at a 30/70 split, the heat and power draw wouldn't be any significantly different (whether RVN or ERG), and my additional profits from ETH would be miniscule. Whatever coins I mine, I plan to hold for a very long time. I am not seeking to flip for immediate profits. If you were in my position, what would you mine with this setup? [link] [comments] |
