6600XT 31.6MH/s @ 18 watts, MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY- Glitch of the day

I present the current efficiency king 6600 xt. Woke up to this and it took me a solid 30 seconds to register.

Definitely a glitch. Gminer reporting the last hash or something?

Ill be checking my post box for lambo daily, thanks guys.

Both GPU stopping hashes at random intervals in different times in HiveOS

    As title says, I have a 3060ti and a rx470 4gb.
these seem to stop for 5 to 25 minutes and starts again.

3060ti, no hashes for 10 minutes intervals.

Rx470 4gb. running for almost 2 days and had almost 25 minutes without hashes yesterday

Should I be worried about this? if you sum these up I lose almost 40 minutes per day of hashing per GPU, which is not a lot but is less profit.

As these are completely random, I can't see when they stop hashing and HiveOS doesn't report any issues that makes them restart or something (Temps are great and never had this issue since last update on HiveOS a week ago). I'm at a loss here.

    Questions of a Noob

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 07:02 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

    I have two Rig's going 1st Rig 7-3070 (2-1k-PSU) 2nd 6-1660S 2-1060[6gb) (2-874-PSU)

I'm running the two on HiveOS

I just got my hands on a Gigabyte RX 6800 OC 16gb at Retail price from a Newegg Shuffle (at today's retail price)

Don't know what Rig to throw it on or should I run it on my gaming computer and more my 1070 to one of the Rigs. The only problem is I still game 🤣 so I would lose hash rate when I do.

    Suggestions 🤷🏽‍♂️

    LOLMiner v1.33 Windows 10 Test

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 04:25 AM PDT

I tested LOLMiner 1.33 on the following in Windows 10:

    RTX 3060 V2

    34.4 MH/s at 102 watts

    RTX 3070 LHR

    43.7 MH/s at 106 watts

    RTX 3080 TI

    81.5 MH/s at 260 watts

The new Lolminer v1.33 requires Nvidia Driver 472.12 on Windows. Unfortunately it is not very stable for me, but many have reported it to work perfectly for them.

If you have tried it, please post what you got and if it is stable for you. If you have had stability problems and fixed them, please post how. I tried using 3rd party app to remove and clean PC from drivers and then reinstall them. Didn't fix it.

Why GPU prices are not dropping with ETH POS coming?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 05:09 PM PDT

In nicehash calculator I see that second best thing after eth, nets roughly half of what you earn mining eth.

I assume this means we all will lose half of our income once eth POS hits?

They say it will be within month, why does this info not affect prices?

For example rx580 stays strong at 400eur/usd price still.

Or people magically think that they will somehow earn the same amount even after eth pos?

I can get this at a low price so I am thinking about changing my old rigs for this one. Does anyone have any experience with this model and what hashrate can I expect? GPU

    Mining BTC on gtx 750

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 06:42 AM PDT

Yo so I'm gonna buy a gtx 750 for gaming and usually when I'm on school I've no issue runningy pc whole day till I'm back, so to an approximation how much worth of BTC i can earn a month let's assume if i run it 10hrs a day for a month.

Estimating mining profitability once ETH goes POS.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 10:41 AM PDT

Can we use this method to estimate how much mining profits will be once eth goes POS assuming crypto prices stay the way they are?

    1. Set a baseline GPU, lets use a non-LHR 3070 which mines ETH at 63MH/s, ERGO at 175MH/s, RVN at 30MH/s, ETC at 63MH/s and Conflux at 50MH/s
    2. Getting our info from miningpoolstats.stream, we can see that the current network hashrate for ETH,ERG,RVN,ETC and CFX are at 697.25TH/s, 26.21TH/s, 7.24TH/s, 24.71TH/s, and 2.42TH/s respectively.
    3. From here, we can calculate the amount of 3070's equivalent GPU's mining on those chains (by dividing current network hashrate with the 3070 baseline hashrate for its respective algorithm) which comes out to around 11 million 3070's equivalent GPU's mining ETH, 149k mining ERG, 241k mining RVN, 392k mining ETC, and 44k mining CFX.
    4. Assuming that 70% of the entire ETH network is being run on ASICS (yes I intentionally chose a high percentage), that leaves us around 3.3 million (from the 11million) 3070 GPU equivalent mining ETH.
    5. Assuming another million units of 3070 GPU's equivalent mining other algorithms not included (aion/beam/flux/etc...), this brings us to a total of around 5.14 million 3070's equivalent mining globally (by adding up total no of gpus from mining eth, erg, rvn, etc, cfx, other algos)
    6. Now once POW ends, 3.3 million 3070 GPU equivalents will stop mining ETH and move on to other algos.
    7. The combined total hashpower equivalent of all the other algorithms will be only 1.83 million 3070 GPU equivalents, and with an influx of 3.3 million 3070 GPU equivalents joining the network from ETH, difficulty will spike by at least 2.5x if hashrate is spread evenly across the entire POW coins.
    8. This means revenue will be down by 60%, if you are making 4USD a day and paying 0.4USD for electric, once ETH goes POS, you'll be realistically making 1.6USD a day and still paying 0.4 USD for electric.
    9. Obviously this will not be/barely profitable for most older generation cards anymore like the rx470/gtx1060.

So is this method applicable to estimate how much profitability/revenue will be affected once eth goes POS? Is my math hopelessly off? (might very well be the case, my math is terrible) Is my methodology flawed? (i'm smooth brained, sorry). Are my assumptions rubbish? Appreciate your insights.

Yes i'm aware that some people might stop mining completely due to it not being profitable which will definitely reduce the difficulty, but i also don't think that 70% of the ETH network is being dominated by ASICS, i probably GUESS the number to be around 50%. If the percentage of ASICS on the ETH network is even lower than 70%, that just means that the number of 3070 equivalent GPU's which will be flooding other algorithms will be higher which will cause the profitability rate to drop even further.

What are your temps mining with an RTX 3070?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 02:24 PM PDT

Hey guys so I'm a bit new to the whole cryptocurrency mining, I don't have mining rigs by any means, I'm just a guy looking to mine on my primary computer while I'm not using it.

So the current settings that I've got dialed in for my ASUS Dual RTX 3070 are the following:

    • Power Limit: 58%
    • Core Clock: -502 MHz
    • Memory Clock: +1300 MHz
    • Fan Speed: 63%

My hash rate with these settings is about 62MH/s with 127W and the GPU temp is ~58C.

Are there any improvements I can make, is fan speed too high? Keep in mind, I'm running this on my primary pc so I don't have an open case. I'd appreciate the feedback folks.

EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra Hot Spot Temp too high after thermal pad replacement

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 01:04 PM PDT

I re-padded my FTW3 3080 because the memory temperatures were higher than I'd like. I did so using 2mm Gelid Ultimate thermal pads on the VRAM, but found that the temperatures were even higher. After researching sizes some more, I switched to 3mm thermal pads. The VRAM temps were ok, but now the GPU temp and the hot spot temp were too high (I used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for the GPU). I figured the added thickness was preventing a proper heatsink connection to the GPU. I ordered some 2.5mm pads and put those on, and while the VRAM and GPU temps seem fine, the hot spot temp is very much not ok, instantly going to over 100 C while the GPU temp is still at 60.

Why are my hot spot temps so out of control? Is there something that I'm missing?
