How would I borrow against my ETH for a home down payment? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 01:57 AM PDT Not sure what the best place to post this is but here goes: What's the best way to borrow stablecoin against my ETH? I want fiat for a down payment on a home but I don't want to sell my ETH: so my idea is to borrow stablecoin then exchange that for fiat. There are so many platforms out there and things to consider that it's making my head spin. What do you all with way more DeFI experience than me (I don't have much) recommend? Ideally I would also like to earn interest / yield on my ETH collateral so that I can cover any interest payments with that yield (and not just have my ETH collateral sitting there and earning me nothing aside from ETH's own price appreciation). Some potential solutions I've found are Liquity for 0% interest and a very generous min collateralization ratio and abracadabra for 0.5% interest on yvcrvSTETH, the token you get back from staking ETH at 4.9% on Lido and then LP on Curve and deposit on Yearn. What's the point of Ledger Nano S if the Ledger app just shows the wallet address? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 11:00 AM PDT Plugging the Ledger to the computer and entering your pin just shows the same wallet address anyways, so what's the point of having a Ledger when you can just write your address on a sheet of paper/a note in your computer? Fake Vitalik's instagram account with 340k followers Posted: 16 Oct 2021 04:57 PM PDT So few days back I saw a sponsored post on Instagram with username ' vitalikbuterin.ethereum'. I immediately understood someone's running a spam account or something so I followed it to check what they'll be posting, so for a couple of days they tried to post some technical stuff to make people believe he is the real V. Now they started a scam site 'eth20update. com' for a "GIVEAWAY OF 40K eth" and asked people to send eth to an address. Now I don't know if people are actually getting scammed at this or not. But 340k followers are a big deal tbh. I hope people are smart enough to judge what is fake or what is not Anyways please give a report to the account to stop such accounts from scamming. Posted: 16 Oct 2021 11:56 AM PDT Have some eth in metamask I'd like to put to work. Am pretty new to using eth as defi so I need some advice. Is there anywhere I can send it to swap it for staking tokens? Preferably cheap fees and dex. Thanks for any advice or information in advance! [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Oct 2021 09:40 AM PDT Hi guys, this is a question that for many of you will sound silly, but I'm a total noob in crypto. I understand that it's not a good strategy to keep crypto on the exchange, so I'm thinking to buy a ledger Nano X. The thing is that I'm buying ethereum with a dollar cost average strategy: I usually buy 20 / 30 euros of Eth every week or two. What I see is that gas fee are very high, so if I buy such small amounts of eth and then I want to transfer them outside the exchange in a wallet, a good portion of my investment is eroded by the gas cost. So, what do you suggest me to do in order to optimize the transfer cost? Should I conver my eth in a different crypto with low transfer costs and then convert them back on the ledger (assuming this is duable at a lower cost)? Thank you in advance for your advices [link] [comments]
Is it safe to show my ETH wallet address to someone? Posted: 15 Oct 2021 11:01 PM PDT Rookie here. Is it safe to show my ETH wallet address to someone. Can someone steal my cryptos if they know my address? [link] [comments]
Best way to recurring buy ETH and store them in my Ledger Posted: 16 Oct 2021 05:00 AM PDT As the title says, I want to recurring buy ETH and store them on my Ledger Nano S. Which is the best way to do so in order to minimize fees? At the moment I have a recurring buy set in binance but the fees for transfer this tiny amount every week is huge. Could I just use the recurring buy in binance and transfer when I reach a meaningful amount? I live in Italy [link] [comments]

Is there way to verify you own an NFT without actually knowing your token or whatever? Posted: 16 Oct 2021 11:40 AM PDT Sorry, I'm very new at this (never even bought a crypto) but I am curious about NFTs. Let's say I buy an NFT, is there a way for me to let someone verify that I own it. Basically I am thinking about creating app or platform where people can display their NFTs but there is no risk of hacking or them losing their NFTs. Just a way to prove they actually own it. In fact, once they can prove they own it, I'll just generate a copy of their art to display. Think of it like Instagram or whatever but the only pics you can display/upload are NFTs you own. Just trying to get an idea as to how difficult it is to create something like this that is secure. Would such an app ever need to know a person's private key? Or would the public key suffice? Thanks! Posted: 16 Oct 2021 11:18 AM PDT Hello all you ethereum enthusiasts, I too love eth but want to start staking on coinbase. I do not see an option to stake on my assets page, and I just put money in to do so and now I paid a decent fee instead of my regular exchange. Is it even possible for Ontarians to stake on coinbase or is it unavailable in my region. Because the support page says staking is available in Canada but it won't allow me to do so. Thanks for any clear answers you can give. [link] [comments]
A project that promises to create a viable economy for digital public goods Posted: 16 Oct 2021 10:54 AM PDT Building Web 4 is a relatively new project on Ethereum that wants to turn any digital content on the web into an asset whose value is based on its Credibility x Relative Importance. The idea is to create a viable economy for open-source projects, scientific research, journalism and so on. The project is still in it's early stages (in terms of coding) though they have a White Paper that clearly lays out the mechanisms, incentive structures, etc. You can check out their Discord here: Building Web 4 (they're looking for artists, creators and developers who can help build and popularize the project) [link] [comments]
