Visa’s Universal payments channel could be huge for Ethereum Posted: 05 Oct 2021 02:21 PM PDT Why? Well, because Visa is the eleventh biggest corporation in the world by market cap, and its likely use of Ethereum as its base layer serves as a very significant endorsement. Thoughts? I finally have 1 ETH and I'm looking for the best way to stake it. Posted: 04 Oct 2021 10:05 PM PDT I've held it ETH for so long, and I finally decided to stake it. So far, I've avoided staking because of what I've heard about fees eating up such a large portion of it. I planned to wait until my wallet or other staking or lending options become more widely available. Is there anything worth staking or maybe even lending your ETH into? I might stake some and then lend on some others as well. Is there anything about which you should be concerned? Kind of skeptical at the moment especially with the ETH that I have. Can you guys help me decide? [link] [comments]

Why is Arbitrum getting faster adoption than Optimism? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 07:20 PM PDT I've noticed that Arbitrum L2 is on fire 🔥 compared to where Optimism was at same time after launch. Why is Arbitrum adopted more? Just curious. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Oct 2021 06:00 PM PDT I read some articles about comparison between these two optimistic rollups. The main difference is that Optimism uses fraud-proof by executing every tx to ethereum, while Arbitrum uses multiple rounds of fraud-proofs by seeking to find disagreement in tx history. (Tbh I still don't get it) But it said that Optimism has higher fees since it has to generate state roots on the chain for every transaction executed. If that's so, why does currently Arbitrum has ~4x higher fee than Optimism? [link] [comments]

Does anybody have any Rinkeby? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 02:12 PM PDT I am starting to loose my mind here. I have been on 10 different faucets and cannot get anything. I have used my own twitter my friends twitter. It always says funding confirmed and then I get nothing. You can check my account on etherscan all I ever got was 0.01 from one faucet and it has a 24 hour rate limit. Its nowhere near enough to test anything. If anybody has some Rinkeby please help me out. 0xc0a39FF09617552a4151E1418325A79402fE01fB [link] [comments]
The inherent challenges posed for institutions to enter into the DeFi space Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:16 AM PDT Institutions are rapidly wooing the DeFi space and looking to make their mark within the space; that brings increase prospects of careers in DeFi. Even a 1% allocation of their allocation towards crypto could increase its marketcap by $1 Trillion. PWC reports that 74% of hedge fund managers are looking at crypto as an investment opportunity, and hedge funds are expected to hold 7% of their assets in cryptocurrency in the next five years. Around one-fifth of hedge funds are already doing so. However, what are the inherent challenges and difficulties for them to do so? This article nicely outlines this: https://medium.com/onomy-protocol/what-is-institutional-defi-overview-potential-challenges-and-solutions-70c10fc681f6 [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Oct 2021 07:59 AM PDT Note: This is related to ETH, but involves Polygon, as well. Yesterday, I used USDT to make an online purchase. I've done it plenty of times with ETH, as I mine via Ethermine and use the funds for gaming microtransactions. This weekend, I took payout into Matic and converted to USDT. I accidently left Metamask on Matic mainnet instead of Ethereum. I didn't think much about it - just copy/pasted the recipient's address and transaction amount. They responded: The transaction was sent not as a USDT cryptocurrency on the Ethereum blockchain but as a USDT on the Polygon Chain. Unfortunately, this means that we do not have access to these coins, and they are irrevocably lost. It was only $50, but it's still enough to want back, if poossible. But I just set up my Poly wallet and the leftover Poly USDT is easily visible in my Trust wallet. I believe they should be able to access the coins and at least return them, since I thought the networks were compatible? I've learned that I need to triple check the network before making transactions - it's not easy, even for someone who has been exposed to crypto for a few years now. [link] [comments]
What do you guys think about the Token economy book by Shermin Voshmgir? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 01:10 PM PDT Hi, Has anyone read that book before and what do you think of it? Please can somebody answer some (nobody) ENS questions? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 09:19 AM PDT 1) do you have to pay gas fees when buying a ENS domain that is already registered, e.g. on Opensea 2) do you have to pay gas fees to renew the domain for a year 3) I understand that you can import an ENS address to a wallet like Trustwallet. Is Trustwallet then showing you what eth is inside that ENS address. How do you send/receive to your ENS address if you don't use a dapp like trust wallet? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Oct 2021 04:41 PM PDT I used to send money to binance from coinbase. With the erc20 update. Do I need to do anything special? Its the same eth address I am sending to. I font think there is a setting for erc20 option [link] [comments] |
