3060 LHR: How many variations? Posted: 02 Sep 2021 06:54 AM PDT I have several cards of two types of 3060s. Some TUFs, and some EVGA KRs. The TUFs get full hash on ETH with the beta drivers, and require either a monitor or a dongle to be plugged in. The EVGAs are getting half with the drivers. I have heard anecdotes that the V2 LHR doesn't even get recognized by the drivers. As well, I have also heard that Ergo hashrates are also affected by the LHR. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Are there more than two versions of LHR out in the world? Or are we talking 2 specifically for the 3060 cards? [link] [comments]

What is going on with the Cryptonightgpu algorithms? Posted: 02 Sep 2021 07:32 AM PDT Checking daily in whattomine.com I saw that the main cryptonightgpu algos like Conceal Equilibria Ryu and Firo (other algo) are at the top of the revenue charts. However they also have a high variance Does anyone has experience mining them? A drawback would be the high power consumption [link] [comments]

Running Rig directly from 12V battery without PSU Posted: 02 Sep 2021 02:37 AM PDT Hi, I have a quick question. Is it feasible to run a mining rig directly from a 12v battery setup that should range from 10-14.5v depending on state of charge or is the voltage fluctuation too high for the motherboard, GPU... to handle? It would greatly reduce costs, as PSUs arent very efficient and having to convert 12v from the batteries to 120/240v to feed the PSUs is also really ineficcient. [link] [comments]

Know the Risks (UK). Proof (& what you can do about it) Posted: 01 Sep 2021 11:58 AM PDT This isn't going to buy me any friends but I think it is important that people know or go on to research these risks and see I am just a messenger. From what I have seen on here it is clear some of the risks are not known to some people or ignored. As a long time miner (since 2010) in a commercial space; an engineering contractor; a business owner; a landlord; a tenant for contracting work; and a self assessed tax payer. I have experience in these areas. For those in doubt of what I am about to put forward in discussion, a call to your insurer or landlord/their insurer will confirm what information I am putting forwards. This is for UK only however speaking to American friends this will likely apply in the USA also. Please American friends step in to confirm. The reason I am posting this is because of the following risks: 1. It could involve one or more parties being made bankrupt. 2. It could lead to your imprisonment. 3. It could lead to a death. For mining there is a fire risk no matter how small. As miners we take this risk but you need to know it doesn't stop there. Residential insurance will not cover a fire from mining for profit, unless you lie, more on that later. WHY Insurance will classify this as commercial use which is not covered by your or your landlords residential policy unless previously sought. In the UK either earning as a Ltd or just by doing self assement tax return (makes you a sole trader) including by mining. This is commercial usage in the eyes of an insurer and invalidates fire coverage on residential insurance. They won't care what your view of it is. WHAT THIS MEANS If you cause a fire by mining in your own home or in a rental property. There is a high probability the insurance will not pay out. HOMEOWNER If it's your home you stand to lose the house, you may face bankruptcy. RENTER/TENANT If you are a tenant with a no business use clause in your agreement you will be liable for any and all damages due to fire as not only does mining breach this contract but it also invalidates the landlords insurance, due to the business (commercial) use. One of the reasons agreements have this clause is because of this reason, insurance doesn't cover commercial use in residential typically. Likely you won't be able to pay which would make you bankrupt and maybe your landlord too. The issue here isn't energy costs. LANDLORDS See above. HOUSEMATES If you have housemates, you are increasing their risk. If there is a fire someone could die. You might not go to prison for this but it would be on you. WHAT IF I LIE If you have a fire and lie about the cause, if the fire is big enough to cause £££,£££ damage, your insurance will have done sufficient investigation to know that you didn't declare commercial use of residential property due to mining. This is called insurance fraud, and they do prosecute it. You will go to prison for this offence if you go down this route. Don't do it! Still if you don't lie they won't payout due to it not being covered. PROOF Please don't take my word for it and hate me as much as you want. Just please call your residential insurer or your landlord/their insurer. Ask that you would like to mine cyrptocurrency for profit and would like coverage against house fires, does my policy cover this? They will confirm you are not covered, they may refuse to cover that, or offer a much much much higher premium. OKAY MR DOOM & GLOOM WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT (FROM BEST TO WORST) Recommended: 1. If you are serious about mining get a commercial space and insure it correctly, run as a Ltd and protect yourself from financial loss. 2. Don't cheap out on power supplies, risers, power cables or second hand equipment. It really isn't worth the risk reward. 3. If you can't get commercial space. Find an insurer that will cover this in residential space no matter how expensive. If you do this then fair enough it's not your landlords business if they are reasonable. If you have housemates it is the ethical thing to have their okay on the risk. Not Recommended: 1. If your own home just taking the risk (do nothing different). You stand to lose everything. Unless you do your research and install commercial protections in your home there is always a heightened risk. This may stop or reduce a fire but you may still not be covered should it fail. 2. Not (at very minimum) checking your coverage (insurance). 3. Not getting coverage (if not covered). 4. Lying. 5. Insurance fraud. [link] [comments]
Need Help - System slows down once I start mining with second gpu Posted: 01 Sep 2021 10:18 PM PDT So this is my gaming rig setup: Asrock B550 Steel Legend 5900x 32GB Ram 750w PSU 250GB SSD for OS 3TB HDD for games Palit 3080 Ti Gamerock OC So previous I would mine on my 3080 Ti (display connected to it) using t-rex and my system would still be super snappy no issues at all I added a Palit 3060 Ti Dual OC to my system via a riser I changed my page file size to 52GB on my HDD (my 32GB Ram + 8GB 3060 Ti + 12GB 3080 Ti) I start mining in t-rex and then whoop my system gets slow af The hashrate is fine tho So I tried running t-rex in separate instances for each GPU If I'm mining the 3080 Ti on its own - no issue system still snappy If I mine the 3060 Ti and 3080 Ti at the same time - system becomes super slow If I mine the 3060 Ti on its own - system is still super slow So basically only when I mine with the 3060 Ti my system becomes very slow (opening folders, accessing start menu takes long, etc) I've used DDU in safe mode and installed the latest nvidia driver, still no luck Any ideas why my system is going super slow when I'm just mining with the 3060 Ti? Anything I can do to fix this? Thanks! [link] [comments]

HiveOS Dashboard USD Estimates Posted: 01 Sep 2021 07:28 PM PDT Does anyone else have issues with the accuracy of the USD estimator inside the HiveOS dashboard? For example, right now it's telling me .0952 ETH is roughly $300 USD, but that much ETH is currently over $350 by market price. The ETH I'm receiving appears correct, it's just the USD estimates that are not. Not a major issue, but I'm curious if the problem is local or if others are experiencing it as well.
