Is mining with gtx 560ti worth it?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2021 07:22 AM PDT

That is the only gpu I have and I wonder if it would be worth it to mine any crypto with it. Also have a i7 2600. Is that any good for cpu mining?

    Offering space for mining?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2021 07:15 AM PDT

    Hello all.

If one lives in an apt or a condo, are there services that offer space (electrical+eth hookup) for one to have their rigs/systems hosted somewhere (perhaps locally).

From the other perspective - if one has a house with empty space, they can host someone's rigs as well. Of course, the cost of electricity would be paid by the owner of the rig...

    Just looking for thoughts. Thanks.

Running good quality psu near 100%?

    Posted: 26 Sep 2021 05:41 AM PDT

I just bought a Corsair HX 1000 psu (plat rated), i am contemplating adding an additional gpu into my system which will increase wattage to 900+.

Is it a good idea to run my psu 95% 24/7 for a long period of time? Especially given that this is a high quality psu.

    Posted: 25 Sep 2021 08:57 PM PDT

Hey guys I have an rx 470 and an rx 480 each running below 100w. Do you guys think I can run them from 1 dual 8 pin pcie cable? because i only have a 500w bronze evga non modular psu laying around. Also 1 card is mining ethereum and the other one is mining ergo/raven.

    What to buy with $4,000?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2021 08:33 PM PDT

Hello, I have a mining rig with 2x 5700xt and 1x 6700xt. If I were to buy more GPUs to add to it with a $4000 budget what should I buy? Thanks.

Tried multiple risers, different pcie slots, different OS. No matter which OS I use this card causes issues. In Windows it will work but the OC resets and power limit disables after a while. Do I have a faulty card?

3080 ti aorus xtreme fan noise (middle one)

    Posted: 25 Sep 2021 12:14 PM PDT

So i repadded my aorus xtreme 3080 ti with new thermal pads. Strangely after reassembling one of my fans started rattling without no reason. I havent even touched anything related with the fans except unplugging the cables for them.

Does anybody have a clue what could have happened?

Maybe i pluged the cables back incorrectly since there were two to unplug on that side?

Searching for HP 7001044-Y000 1000W breakout board

    Posted: 25 Sep 2021 10:13 AM PDT

Does anyone know where I could buy breakout board for HP 7001044-Y000 Proliant 1000W power supply? I noticed that parallelminer sold those at one point but not anymore. I am just starting my mining operation and bought this PSU for it and I did not think finding breakout board for it would be this hard. All help appreciated.

Asrock H110 usb problem so no mouse or keyboard working - anyone experienced this?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2021 11:32 AM PDT

As the title suggests! Whilst the rig was mining away I carely lifted the board and mounted it on a wooden board. I'm almost certain that this has fried the USB ports somehow.

No mouse or keyboard working when plugged in. The mouse does show a light but no cursur.

I also tried a ps/2 mouse and keyboard and also a ps/2 to usb adapter and nothing.

Has anyone experienced this and found a fix or do I just scrap it?

How to know if it is safe to power risers with molex

    Posted: 25 Sep 2021 10:18 AM PDT

    MY PSU: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Power-Supply/GP-AP850GM#kf

An image of my actual setup: https://imgur.com/a/sHcC8oA

Well I did an extensive investigation and I did not found any information about how to be 100% safe powering risers through molex.

I know that the standard is 12v with 13amps pin that gives like 12*13 = 156w, what I read in some places that in fact it could drastically fall to 5amps because of the longitude of the cable. Like if it is at least half a meter (18 inch) this could happen. On that scenario I would have only 60w to use, that is not enoguh for the 75w that the riser could draw.

I want to power the risers with molex because if not I will have to keep using a dual PCIE cable, powering one slot of a 3080 and with the remaining head of the cable powering the riser. I prefer to have all in individual lines, but well. I did not choose the right psu, the one that I am using only come with 4 PCIE wires.

The problem with using the double PCIE is that the RTX 3080 draws at least 320w, one of the two slots draws 150w and the riser 75w. So knowing that safely I could rely in 240w of the PCIE, 150w + 75w = 225w (in a peak). The cable can take up to 240w so I "should " be fine.

    Well, ty for reading.
