How do I prevent burning my mothers house down? Posted: 27 Sep 2021 04:00 AM PDT So this week I'm setting up my first rig (x5 1070 ti's) but due so space restraints in my flat (apartment for those over the water) it will be housed remotely from my mother's house. I've seen a lot of horror stories and gpu's burning up and I'm wondering what precautions I can take to ensure this doesn't happen whilst I'm 25 miles away. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Sep 2021 12:55 PM PDT It's 5am here and I can't sleep due to sciatica nerve pain. Also need to be up in 6 hours for a physio appointment. Just heard a big pop from the living area and can now smell burning from my rig. Turned it off, I'll deal with it later... Oh god I hope my gpus are ok :( [link] [comments]

Cannot Bios Mod Rx5700XT Asus Rog Strix Posted: 27 Sep 2021 02:52 AM PDT I have successfully bios modded other cards. However, I am stuck on this one. I have downloaded the vbios, edited the timings etc and then when uploading to HiveOS flashing the vbios always fails. I have also downloaded older versions of the vbios and tried editing those. However I have had no success with this either! Has anyone managed to mod these cards and how? [link] [comments]

GTX 1660 Ti Overclock Settings Posted: 26 Sep 2021 07:54 PM PDT Hi all, I overclocked my EVGA GTX 1660 Ti SC Ultra (Micron 6GB) to:
I am trying to push my memclock higher but it crashes even at +935 Mhz. I see most people can push it to +1000-1200 Mhz with no problem. Is there any way to fix this or did I just get a card on the lower end of the standard? Running Ethash on GMiner + AwesomeMiner if that matters. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Sep 2021 11:23 AM PDT Recently came across this post https://miningchamber.com/gpu-mining/guides/top-5-psus-for-gpu-mining/ In method 2, they indicated that you can do this for any GPU other than 3090. I got a bunch of 3070ti and the only way to fit all the PCIE cable into my 2 750W psu is to use 1 slot for each card. Question is will this be fine? I plan to just run ergo at 150W per card. Updating drivers for just one GPU on rig Posted: 26 Sep 2021 08:57 AM PDT I have an LHR 3060 and installed the 470.05 drivers to take advantage of the 45Mh/s speeds some have been getting. However, with this driver version my 3080ti is not recognized. Installing the latest drivers fixes this issue but reduces the hashrate on the 3060. When I try to update the 3060's drivers in Device Manager to the older driver version, I get a "the best drivers for your device are already installed" error. How do I keep the current latest drivers for my other 4 GPUs on this rig (3080, 3080ti, 2080ti, 3070) but just downgrade the 3060's? Win10 [link] [comments]
Hard drive access light flashing then crashing, mining ETH on TRex Posted: 26 Sep 2021 08:32 AM PDT Hey y'all, I've done extensive googling on this subject and I can't find much since it's specific to mining. Hoping you can help. When I first start up my rig and run the miner (specs below), only the case power light is on. Over time, though, the hard drive access light starts flashing constantly and then usually a day or so later, the system crashes. Using latest TRex miner to mine ETH through Ethermine, should it even need to access my hard drive at all? Specs: [link] [comments] |
