    Bitcoin continues to look for a trend whereas September begins. What can we expect in the coming days?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2021 03:44 AM PDT

    September is starting, and the big question on everyone's mind is where the Bitcoin price is headed in the next few days.

    Will we see a breakout of the $50K mark and a quick climb to $60K in the next few days, or will we have a traditional September in the red?

    Historically, September is always a bloody month for Bitcoin. It has been four years in a row now that we have seen measured corrections, but corrections nonetheless in September.

    Currently, Bitcoin is in a price range where it is difficult to draw any conclusions. Speculation has returned since last Friday and Jerome Powell's speech in Jackson Hole. Powell's words were received rather favorably by the market.

    The real problem right now is that there is no more trading volume in the overall markets. It's waiting.

    Paradoxically, the stock market gives us the feeling that nothing seems to stop it. And it is precisely when these types of thoughts come to investors that it usually backfires.

    The best thing to do is probably to wait until we have more information.

    We can see that $47K is important. As long as this price is held, buyers remain favored. A test towards $50K-$51K is in sight, but the resistance $49.2K-$49.5K will have to be crossed which has not been the case for a good week.

    We should also remember the main supports:

    • The first at $44K-$44.5K.
    • The second one is more important at $40K-$41K.

    If the price of Bitcoin falls as low as this, it will be a huge buying opportunity, as I think we will see a very significant bullish rally in the last three months of the year, similar to what we saw last year.

    So stay tuned, and don't hesitate to take profits just in case.

    I still wonder how we really used to trust banks with our assets.

    Posted: 01 Sep 2021 09:41 PM PDT

    Banks were really out there taking full control over what was ours by law and yet we still trusted them? Even through all the scandals that surrounded them throughout the years.

    It's only after DeFi and decentralized platforms starting taking off that we realized how much power we are giving them. Why give banks custody and control over my assets when I can easily use platforms like Privatium and similar asset management platforms to do that MYSELF. On these platforms I have 100% control over my assets. That is something we never really had with banks

    Crypto 101: What's APY & APR ?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2021 09:14 PM PDT

    General Conclusion

    APR and APY are used in many yield farming programs in DeFi protocols. However, they are not the same thing! We, the participants in the market, are not only investing but actively receiving yields by farming and staking DeFi tokens. So these basic terms are not only important, but they are also information that helps you to invest more effectively.

    Both are related to returns. But how are they different? Why are they not interchangeable? We discuss that in today's newsletter.

    Definition

    APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. It is the actual annual rate of return, NOT taking into account the effect of compound interest.

    APY stands for Annual Percentage Yield. It is the actual annual rate of return, taking into account the effect of compound interest.

    Who uses what? APY is better to calculate your returns on investment while APR is more common in lending.

    Quick math: which do you think is higher? APY, the one that considers compounding.

    What Are They Different?

    APR

    For example, a yield farming program offers an APR
    of 100%/yr. You use $1000 to join this program. One year later you will receive $2,000, where $1000 is the initial capital and $1000 is APR
    .

    Once you see the APR, it is possible to immediately calculate how much profit will be earned at the end of the period. This profit comes from your staking or farming, so just join at the beginning to get the result for APR interest.

    Formular

    APR = r x N

    Where:

    r: The interest rate of the year;

    N: Interest period (N = 1, means 1 year).

    APY

    APY is another way of calculating the percentage of real profit you will receive.

    What will you get if you receive profit every day from staking and you will add that to your principle and earn interest on that every day?

    If you have an APR
    of 100%/yr with getting daily profit, you have to divide APR
    by 365 days to calculate the interest received daily (0.27%). Then reinvest this interest continuously every day. The amount you get is $2,714.57, where $1000 is the initial capital and $1714.57 is APY
    .

    Assuming you participate in farming pairs on Solana's Raydium application, I also combine Step Finance to know the APR
    and APY
    of these farming pairs. Typically, I am staking $RAY on Raydium (current project APR is 35.33%), with $1,000 you farm at the beginning of the year to the end of the year, the total income will be $1,423.51.

    Formular

    APY = (1+r)^n - 1

    In which:

    r: The interest rate of the period;

    n: Interest period (n=1 means 1 day).

    Awareness

    As such, today's projects often offer 2 ratios of APR and APY to show users what the rate of return is currently available. However, some projects that give daily, 7-day interest rings directly provide APY. This has two implications:

    • First, displaying APY
      will produce a larger percentage than APR
      , making brave people feel that they will receive more profit.
    • Secondly, the APY
      interest is only true if the user reinvests (restake, refarm) continuously in the allowed period (e.g. when receiving rewards, immediately stake).

    Today we see a lot of aggregator protocols already using this ability to increase profits, continuously reinvesting within the capacity of the original protocols. This is really good if the transaction costs are not significant. Hopefully, we can find those solutions in Layer 2.

    TLDR:

    Understanding the two terms of APR
    and APY
    becomes even more important in DeFi today, as nearly all protocols with yield farming fields display these numbers. Knowing them well is not only for understanding and executing different strategies and calculating real profits.

    Why "Centric" can become a key player in the crypto industry with it's unique dual token economics protocol.

    Posted: 01 Sep 2021 08:58 AM PDT

    Centric has innovative dual-token digital currency model. Centric Swap (CNS) and Centric Rise(CNR)

    Cryptocurrencies have struggled to achieve mass adoption because of price volatility. In turn, they carry more risk than an incentive, leading them to struggle with user adoption and retention. But Centric Rise is a deflationary cryptocurrency that rises in value every hour, providing a compelling incentive to investors and the stability necessary to drive utility and adoption.

    CNR is unique as it trades at a fixed price and yields hourly growth, whereas CNS is just like a regular cryptocurrency, and trades at the price set by the market. At any time Centric Rise can be redeemed in exchange for Centric Swap and vice-versa.

    Some unique features to the Centric Rise token are;

    • Burn – Critical to the deflationary economic model tokens are burned out of circulation reducing overall supply each hour.
    • Price Blocks – The Centric Foundation monitors network stability, growth, adoption and a number of other core metrics to set future price growth which is focused in the early stages of development on network adoption and incentive.
    • Convert – Allows uses to convert between Centric Rise & Centric Swap tokens.
    • Send & Receive – A stable form of payment to anyone in the world in seconds.
    • Limited Supply – Max supply 1,000,000,000 (1 Billion)

    CNS is deemed as 1$ of CNR in the protocol always and the protocol will enforce this value over time. That basically means CNS will become a synthetic stable coin teetering around 1$ constantly after network consensus, whereas the CNR will simply keep on rising on according to future hourly price blocks.

    When CNR is redeemed for CNS, it is held in quarantine as security on the Centric Rise smart contract (Hourly CNR burn also happens from here).

    Conversely, when CNS is redeemed for CNR, CNR is released from quarantine. (CNS is minted but no new CNR can be minted as it's only deflationary)

    After network consensus has been established and adoption/stability/utility phases are over. The final goal of Centric will be to compete with existing transactional currencies offering censorship resistance, price discovery, tiny fees, fast international transactions, plus the additional benefits of a public blockchain ledger.

    The extra utility that can be created because of the dual token and the hourly rise are also immense such as new loan mechanics or DeFi options. I suggest you all to do some research on this project as the economic principlies stated especially in the whitepaper is really intriguing. Another point that i liked was there being no lock-up period you can swap your CNS-CNR anytime you want unlike most other yields in the sector.
