Google "Dash Merchant Venezuela" to get more background coverage. These people are currently collecting funds from the Dash treasury while also promoting Lightning Network for the dictator in El Salvador. They graduated from petty fraud to helping an authoritarian regime onboard its population to a fake bitcoin IOU system. [link] [comments]

Why does the LN Network in El Salvador appears like smoke and mirrors? Posted: 11 Sep 2021 08:33 PM PDT Tweets going around about guy paying for starbucks using LN and paying zero fees. What's not shown in the tweets:
Having learned about LN Channels and how its NOT like a plumbing network NOR is it like TCP/IP routing (though BTC noobs keep repeating that it is) I can't help but think that this is all smoke and mirrors. [link] [comments]

SmartBCH Staking vs CEFI Custody Posted: 11 Sep 2021 02:30 PM PDT I just started using SmartBCH by bridging a small amount of BCH using CoinFlex, swapping BCH for EBEN then staking EBEN on BenSwap. I have always been aware that the theoretical returns in DEFI are much higher than what CEFI companies offer, but I have been turned off from experimenting with ETH due to high gas fees & the fact that I need to purchase a different coin (ETH). Now that I can do all of this on BCH, I can use smartBCH for staking instead of CEFI accounts. DEFI has always been something I have steered away from. Now that I can explore DEFI using my favorite crypto, I am eager to try but I am fearful of the risk compared to CEFI. Is SmartBCH considered stable? Is CoinFlex trustworthy or should I wait for the decentralized bridging to be completed? [link] [comments]

ATMs in El Salvador support Bitcoin Cash too Posted: 11 Sep 2021 04:14 AM PDT I have a friend who is from El Salvador and his relatives are still living there. I asked him about this new bitcoin adoption and he told the ATMs support Bitcoin, but also Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin. He usually sends some money to his family every month, and he used bitcoin cash because it's faster and cheaper. Then his relatives can convert it and withdraw it to usd when they need to buy some groceries. I just don't understand why no media is saying that. [link] [comments]
Identifying the "change" outputs in a btc transaction Posted: 11 Sep 2021 05:28 PM PDT Is there a way to systematically know which output(s) in a btc transaction is/are sending change back to the person that initiated the transaction? Context: I'm using python to analyze block data and would like to be able to define the numerical "net value" of each transaction (i.e. the amount received by target addresses minus the change that was sent back to the initiator). As far as i can tell, block explorers essentially report the "gross value" of each transaction, which is the total of all input values minus the tx fee, which gives you the same value as the total of all outputs. What i'd like to be able to do is subtract the "change" outputs from that total and arrive at the "net value" transferred. Edit: spelling [link] [comments]
