Two weeks into @nayibbukele's crackpot #Bitcoin experiment, NOTHING has improved. Hackers plague the system, BTC is down 16% from Sept 6th, and some gov't offices aren't accepting BTC as payment. The "coolest dictator" is a catastrophic failure.

I feel like all platforms upgraded their technology, but Bitcoin’s tech is still ancient in crypto perspective.

I'm a huge Bitcoin fan and investor don't get me wrong. I really believe in the coin which is exactly why I get frustrated when I see other alt coins upgrading their tech to much better and more efficient ones and we're still stuck with the same tech we've had years ago.

Ethereum will soon be introducing ETH 2.0 and we're still using up so much power for mining and it's probably gonna stay that way for a while. Honestly idk what we would do without forks like Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Latinum… We really need to start laying out plans for future upgrades!

How to use crypto to transfer funds internationally?

    Posted: 25 Sep 2021 10:21 AM PDT

Background: I'll try to make a long story short; my wife and I owned an apartment overseas in a country she is still a citizen of; we sold the apartment in 2017. We reported and paid US capital gains taxes on the sale on our 2017 IRS 1040.

As a result of this sale, however, the proceeds went into her foreign bank account.

She started making online transfers from her foreign account to our bank account here in the US; her bank's instructions stipulated no more than $10,000 (US value) per transaction and no more than $50,000 per year.

We transferred funds in 2018 and 2019; her bank then became suspicious of these transactions and blocked her from transferring any more funds about two years ago.

Hence, the balance sits in her foreign bank account.

Is there a way to use crypto to transfer the balance; or at least get some of it out?

Any thoughts or suggestions, i.e. a "best practices" way to do it? Please explain as if you were a Ph.D speaking to a high schooler. Thanks.

Without Tether, and no real utility for Bitcoin, I would make an estimated guess of No. I think Bitcoin will be replaced from #1 by alts likely in 2022-2023
