BTC End of Day 2 - Here's the Chivo App Checklist

End of Day 2 - Here's the Chivo App Checklist

    Posted: 08 Sep 2021 10:06 PM PDT

Here's the Chivo checklist so far (until proven otherwise... please keep this in mind! Many of these problems may indeed be temporary launch bugs and patched):

    - Unable to send BTC/LN transactions under $5 USD. Effectively killing micro-transactions, and ensuring BTC/LN can not be used as currency.

    - Custodial.

    - A Security failure that includes access to the users microphone (the app has no features that would required a microphone that I could see), access to external drives, and a host of other invasive security flaw.

    - Owned by a private company, funded by tax dollars. Unclear if profits will return to the tax payers.

    - "No fee", but fees actually paid for by tax dollars.

    - Unbearably slow - actions on app take ~ 1 to infinite minutes.

    - Multiple errors and stoppages.

    - Unable to transfer initial $30 BTC out.

    - Unable to transfer additon BTC out if added, until a seemingly random number of Chivo to Chivo transactions have occurred.

    - Mandatory (by law) for all merchants to use - breaks the myth that people have a choice to use other apps here.

As you know, I'm currently in El Salvador to investigate what's going on. Someone was kind enough to provide me a donation that is allowing me the funds to stay another full week -- THANK YOU ANON.

Everything above (and much more) is documented.

I will be releasing another full 1hr+ long documentary on ~everything~ happening here.

Along with a few surprises, including an INTERVIEW with the Bitcoin Dissident that was arrest without a warrant after criticizing the Chivo app days before launch.

Side note: I've kinda gone viral in El Salvador. If you didn't see, I created an education video on how to get BTC OUT of Chivo into a noncustodial wallet.

Will continue to post updates here so long as they are wanted. Please let me know.

Free BCH API for developers via IPFS

    Posted: 08 Sep 2021 02:43 PM PDT

There are now four IPFS peers that serve free bch-api access to the BCH blockchain and SLP tokens, and a fifth peer is in the works:

You can all access it with psf-bch-wallet, which is a node.js JavaScript, open-source, MIT licensed command-line wallet:

Here is a video on how to install and use this command-line wallet:

You don't need to be a developer to use it. If you install node.js on your computer, you can install the wallet app and dip your toes into the waters of JavaScript and IPFS. If you are a developer, the wallet is super easy to hack on. Each command has easy-access, self-contained code.

The Permissionless Software Foundation is also developing a censorship-resistant pay-to-write database (P2WDB). If you like the video above, check these videos out:

If you issue the wallet-service command, this is what you should see:

At what point are we going to stop looking from the sidelines how the whole crypto space will implode?

I mean we are even too ignorant to withdraw our crypto.

They are literally printing fake money to sell crypto to people with real money, they are literally stealing fiat and use udst/btc as the vehicle.

Curious why El Salvador uses Chivo app for BTC and what it means for future adoption in other countries

    Posted: 08 Sep 2021 10:36 AM PDT

Are other BTC wallets like Muun allowed in El Salvador or do people have to use Chivo to use BTC? If only Chivo is allowed, is it a Lightning network? Can one Lightning network like Chivo communicate with another Lightning network like Muun? In other words, if I have BTC in Chivo or some other wallet, can I transfer that BTC to Muun with the same low fee and fast speed?

Outside of El Salvador, if I want to use my BTC to buy a hamburger at McDonalds, do I send my BTC to their Lightning network? What are fees like when sending BTC from a non-Lightning network to a Lightning network, and vice versa? For example, if I want to transfer my BTC from a Lightning network back to my non-Lightning wallet, what is the fee and transaction speed like?

If transactions can be made seamlessly from one Lightning network to another with low fee and fast speed, maybe BTC can work as a daily currency.
