    Excel spreadsheet compairing Nvidia cards and ROI calculations (Ravencoin, will add other algos soon)

    Posted: 16 Aug 2021 11:37 PM PDT

    Postet this on the Ravencoin sub but i think it also fits in this sub.

    Hi I created this spreadsheet for a good overview of almost all Nvidia Grapiccards above 4Gb VRAM.

    You will get all informations about hashrates, Powerdraw, Ravencoins per day and how long it would take for hitting ROI. Just change two values like descript in the spreadsheet (current RVN value, and current reward for one Mh/s you get from minerstat calculator or whattomine.com) and the spreadsheet will do all the math for you.

    I spend days of research to get the right values for each card and spent more days for creating this spreadsheet which will do all the calculations by itself you just need to insert the the price (from ebay, amazon or the max price you are willing to pay) and it shows you how long you would take for hitting ROI. Also a own calculator for your total GPU's you bought and another seperate calculator for electricity price, powerdraw in kW/h and how much profit you will get including your electicity cost.

    I hope you like it. It was a big help to find the best and the most efficient GPU's for my Rig. Easy choice for "should i buy it or not".

    Link to Google docs download it and open it with Excel or Calc then you can change the values.

    Spent another day just to make it easy to understand and some cosmetic stuff so i can post it and share it with you. If you like it please support me with some Ravencoins. my adress: RAUjwhPbz6jaFDeJtJM9smLBA8YfR4S3FU

    For now its Euro only but maybe i will create a extra spreadsheet for USD when i get some time. If you have any wish or Idea for a Excel spreadsheet let me know maybe i could help you. I love to doing stuff with Excel.

    Ps.: spreadsheet for ETH is in the making, will post soon.

    What do you use to keep track of mining income, costs and ROI?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2021 03:55 AM PDT

    I've been mining ETH, CFX and RVN for a couple of months and I'm searching for a good / easy way to keep track of income across all wallets for accounting purposes. I'm mining as a business so I need to keep track of income and expenses.

    What I'm looking for is an monthly overview of all mining income + increase / decrease in value of my crypto portfolio. That needs to be entered in my accounting software.

    Currently I'm using Exodus and that does give me a single source for all wallet addresses of the different coins I'm mining. It's still a manual process to add it all up that I'd like to automate.

    Nvidia 471.68 Driver Hack for Full Hashrate on 3060

    Posted: 17 Aug 2021 06:58 AM PDT

    So I been thinking, because some of us are wanting to use the new 3070 TI and 3080 TI GPU's for mining using the newly updated Nbminer 39 that allows you to get 70% of hash of those cards, but might also want to use the 3060 XC because it can mine at full hash rate using the 470.05 drivers, would it be possible to take the drivers from the 470.05 dev install and place them into the Nvidia 471.68 install pack ?

    I looked into it and this is what would need to be replaced. It is more complicated than just taking say 6 files from the 470.05 dev install folder and putting them into the 471.68 installs and just clicking on the setup, and having it work. Maybe someone here might be able to build off this.

    3090FE VRAM cooling without mod

    Posted: 17 Aug 2021 07:07 AM PDT

    Afternoon all.

    So after much deliberation, I've decided not to re-pad my 2 x 3090FE's or 3080FE. I'm from the UK and it isn't clear if the warranty would be voided. However, my 3090s are thermally throttling so I need to do something. I have an old heatsink and if I hold it against where the VRAM is, you can see the temp go down in HWinfo quite quickly, by 6-8°. However, I'm a vertical hanger and need a way to secure the heatsinks to the cards. Any ideas?

    RTX 3060 Ti with Hynix memory - Garbage or salvageable?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2021 07:27 AM PDT

    Hey lads!

    Just received another batch of 3060 Tis and this time all besides one card had Hynix memory. The cards are all LHR, but that shouldn't affect RVN hashrates as my LHR Samsung cards do ~30.2mhs. Now with these shitty Hynix cards I'm stuck between 23-28mhs. Pic with settings.

    Seems like Hynix memory does a better job than LHR itself.

    Starter rig?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2021 07:14 AM PDT

    I'm looking to start crypto mining, and I heard GPU is a little safer, cheaper and more versatile than ASIC for starters. I have money to spend, but not a ton to lose, and if I invest the few thousand I have, I hope to get some returns.

    So, I am looking to make a proof of concept model with hopefully a cheap and low profit rig, where I can expand as I see success and let it ride into the next piece. Is there anywhere good to start, like a guide, or specific GPUs and motherboards to look at to get started? Any help pointing me in the right direction would make me very grateful. Thank you.

    3070 and 3070ti are not good price to performance ratio right. I see people suggesting only 3060ti and 3080. Consider I can only get LHRs.

    Posted: 17 Aug 2021 06:18 AM PDT

    So I took apart my Radeon 5700XT to investigate thermal issues and it seems some of that pink stuff(I don't know what it is) which rests on those "R15" Blocks have eroded. Can someone tell me what it is, and if I can replace it?

    Updated Mining Calc from Wooly (LHR and 6600 Included)

    First post is here.

    WoolyPooly Mining Calculator

    Thx to all your comments and ideas, we:

    • combined Nvidia and AMD GPUs together;
    • sorted GPUs by series and models;
    • fixed hashrates on some GPUs;
    • added all LHR GPU hashrates (including last nbminer update);
    • added new RX6600 GPU.

    This is not the end, still a lot of things to do but now it looks really better.

    Pls enjoy our mining calc https://woolypooly.com/en/calc/what-to-mine-gpu v. 2.0 :)
