I made a Website to quickly check if a Coin is Mineable and on what Algo

    Hi,

recently started a Website where you can easily check if a Coin is mineable and on what Algorithm it is possible to mine.

Now working on showing the best mining pools for this coin!

Feedback is welcome. Currently added the First 100 150Coins by Market Cap and will add more!

How much resale value will non-LHR cards hold after ETH 2.0?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 07:05 AM PDT

    Preface:

In my local market place, non-LHR cards are getting scooped up very quickly (and at a premium) while less and less new listings being made. At the same time, LHR cards are sitting for days, not much above the MSRP. GPU supply from the retailer side is also slowly improving.

Because GPU manufacturers have now switched to making LHR only cards (outside of some FE cards + 3090s) and the latest crypto bull run, non-LHR cards have become more desirable. However, this demand may be short-lived as Eth 2.0 will likely take place Q1 of 2022.

    Questions for the community:

    1. How do you think Eth 2.0 will affect the resale value of non-LHR cards?
    2. Are you still actively looking for LHR cards at MSRP from retailers to mine other coins?

Edit- see my personal answer to these questions in the comments

    What is happening with ETH?!

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 02:44 PM PDT

As of checking whattomine, ETH profitability is pretty high right now, especially considering EIP-1559.

Can anyone explain this to me? I'm confused as to what is happening to make this go on.

Serious Question - Is GPU Shortage Bad or Good?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 08:39 AM PDT

This is a serious question and I'm not sure it's as obvious as you might think.

Is the GPU Shortage GOOD or BAD for Miners?

Don't get me wrong? I just started in the midst of this and it's definitely not been fun buying used cards, paying 2X+ MSRP, getting scammed, etc. --BUT-- is it really a bad thing?

I'm new, so you guys would know far more from experience, but lets just say that supply right now went back to near-infinite levels. Awesome! Buy (5) Founders Edition 3060 Ti's at $400 each! Who could beat that? We are going to have it paid off in no time...

Yeah, BUT... If you or I can buy it from BestBuy at MSRP or cheaper, then what about the SERIOUS miners? I'm talking about the guys across the globe that have dedicated contacts at NVIDIA and other vendors and can start having 5,000+ units shipped WEEKLY with a single email. What will difficulty be like a month from now if that were to happen?

I never considered mining till now, because I've always believed that there is so much money out there looking for a place for easy-returns that profitability will naturally go down to zero for anyone that doesn't have an "advantage" (in this case being, super-cheap power). The reason I got in finally, is that being in China went from a huge advantage to a disadvantage and the combination of taking that computing power offline + GPU shortage + Crypto surge has led to a TEMPORARY profitable time and I intend to ride it until I literally turn off my miners (hopefully not forever) because I'm losing money.

I think a lot of people haven't really looked at a profitability over time chart and think that $0.12 per MH is normal or even low. Keep in mind that it was $0.05 at the beginning of this year and hovered between $0.01 and $0.03 for years. In November of last year it was $0.025 even during the shortage. Power costs remain the same, so it can quickly go from highly profitable to unprofitable pretty quickly.

What do you guys think? Is the shortage good or bad for us?

Why my fan speed never exceeds 34%?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 07:26 AM PDT

I mine with gtx 1050, not the best card to mine with but it's the only one and I leave it mining when I'm not sitting at the computer (just so I can earn enough so I can buy a game here and there). Computer has no fans other than gpu cooler and cpu cooler and when mining gpu temps are at high 70s (Celsius) and I'm pretty sure my card does not have vram temp measurement so the vram temps are probably even higher. And the card is selfreporting fan speed 33%-34% and not higher than that. Why they don't ramp up?? The same thing is happening while gaming, in some games gpu shows the temps up to 85°C and no higher than 34% fan speed. It has a single fan and power through pcie, never draws higher than 75W. How can I fix that?

All Vega card for somereason does not play well with other cards? anyone having this issue?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 07:04 AM PDT

Vega card play well on its own or there are multiple vega Cards.

as soon as I mix them with other models like 5700xt, 580, etc.. Vega some reason crashes and reboots.

as soon as I unplug the card, then my rig works better.

anyone else seeing this is an issue? is there even fix?

I have the Asus Vega 56 with 3 fans.

    unMineable 3060 Ti LHR NBMiner

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 06:40 AM PDT

So as per title. I recently got a 3060 Ti LHR and have been mining ERG for last couple days. I thought I'd compare using Nbminer and ERG with "mining" ADA using nbminer with unMineable settings.

I am currently using my same over clock settings in afterburner as I did with ergo mining and currently getting hashrate of 25-27.

Is anyone able to share there settings with me as I know I should be expecting around 40 with nbminer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

8 Full PCI E Motherboards with built in CPU?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 08:41 PM PDT

What is the consensus on those 8 full PCI-E motherboards from china ... the ones on ebay/amazon with DDR3 ram and a built-in CPU? I don't want to mess with motherboard bios, riser, extra wiring, etc. I figure it should be fine with SMOS.

Curious to hear if others have experience with these boards.

How often do 3080/3090’s require pad replacement when mining 24/7?

    Posted: 29 Aug 2021 08:28 PM PDT

What to set virtual memory at? I have issues with my rig (windows 10) restarting due to CUDA out of memory error on nicehash. What do you guys set your virtual memory at based on cards. Thanks
