- Good deal? Or rip off? RX5700XT, and this hefty gaming PC with liquid cooling for $1,000.... good buy?
- This PCIE Riser exploded. Literally. I turned on the PC I finished so it could mine passively. 5 seconds it exploded. The Capacitor shot off the riser like a fucking bullet. Loud too. Scared the living shit out of me. It dented my GPU Heatsink Fins and chipped some of the metal off on the plate.

$95 RX 580 too good to be true? Posted: 05 Aug 2021 08:22 AM PDT This website showed up when I searched for an RX 580 8gb gpu listed for $95. It seems way too low to be real, is it a scam? [link] [comments]

Adding an Additional 3080 Question Posted: 05 Aug 2021 05:53 AM PDT I am currently mining with a Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce RTX 3090 Aorus Master with a EVGA - GQ Series 850W ATX12V/ EPS12V 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply. I recently had the opportunity to purchase an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA and was curious to know if I can use my current power supply to power both the 3080 and 3090 with the same power supply. I may need to purchase a riser as the 3080 most likely will not fit in my case with the 3090. [link] [comments]
Seeking some advice about an enclosed setup (first timer here) Posted: 05 Aug 2021 12:03 AM PDT Hello, I'm looking to convert my daily work pc into a miner hybrid. I'd like to have the pc mining 24/7, including the time I'm using it for work. I've built a few pc in the past, but that's about as much experience I have. My needs for work aren't very demanding. Currently using a i5 6500k and a gtx 960 2GB and that's enough for my work needs. I'm looking at getting a second hand motherboard like the GA-z270 (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z270-Gaming-3-rev-10#kf) with 3~4 PCI x16 slots. My current one only has 1 slot. I have no idea if this is how things work, but my idea is to use my current gtx 960 for my normal pc needs, and to get an RTX 2080ti (up to 2) that will mine 24/7. Is this logic correct, or am I totally wrong on how things work? Thank you. [link] [comments]

Ok Zotac 3070ti over heating update! Posted: 04 Aug 2021 05:22 PM PDT Ok so after the fiasco from 2 weeks ago, I bought a whole assortment of Gelid Solutions thermal pads .5mm to 3mm. I installed the 2mm pads per my measuring (there was one pad that looked 2.25mm but it was squished wayyyyy down so figured 2mm was ok). I fired up the zotac to see what difference was made. I started at 75% power, +100 core, +800 mem fan at 75%, ran cool at 82c at the mem junction for the next 30 min at 35Mh raven coin. BUT lets go higher Threw the power to 85% with +300 core, +1000 mem, fan at 75% whoa dang move that fan to 100%. There we sat at 90c at the mem junction and 42Mh for the next 30 min. Wayyyy better than before. Now im running 77% power limited, +200 core, +1000 core, 75% fan, and 86c at the mem junction and im sitting at a respectable 38.3 Mh raven coin In closing, those rubber like thermal pads on the Zotacs gotta go. I can actually run this gpu and have a conversation with people and not worry about it spontaneously combusting. [link] [comments]

Additional GPU troubleshooting Posted: 04 Aug 2021 03:34 PM PDT I've been running 3x 4gb Rx580s for a couple of months and decided to expand with a couple more cards and and an extra PSU. The first card an Rx 570 arrived and I tested the card to see if it was all good but it doesn't seem to even make it to bios (unless the boot is just missing this) then just sits on a black screen with a dash in the corner. The keyboard doesn't even power on. Without this card the old set up still works. Did I just buy a did GPU or is there anything specific I'd need to do when adding an additional different GPU? Cheers [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Aug 2021 11:23 AM PDT I am working on a small project, and I need historic data for related to mining rewards. What I would like to do is to know what was the expected output in ETH (or some other coin) on a particular date for a given hash rate. I don't mind working with raw data, as long as I can reach the final numbers with some degree of accuracy. Any ideas where to get the relevant historic data? [link] [comments] |
