Any thoughts when GPU prices will fall?

    Posted: 18 Aug 2021 04:26 AM PDT

There was some talk about GPU prices falling after the last ETH update. However, it appears prices have risen slightly. Do we think GPU prices will drop after Decembers upgrade? Or, are they become scarce to the point of holding more value? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Almost had a heart attack, but then realized it was a bug :(

Which of these 6-card rig layouts do you think provides the best balance of performance and cost? GPUs will probably be efficient types like the 1660S or 6600XT

Losing my mind because my second GPU is still not detected

    Posted: 18 Aug 2021 12:00 AM PDT

    Hey,

I don't know what els I could do.

I have a EVGA 3090 Hybrid and a Gigabyte 1660 Super on a MSI Z390 A Pro Mobo with an i5 9400F running on Windows 10 and NiceHash. G4 enabled, audio disabled, latest drivers. Physical ram is at 16GB, virtual at 55GB. 750 W PSU.

The 3090 runs fine. But the 1660S is not detected. It shows up in the device manager with an Code 43 error.

The 1660S is working in other computers.

I would be very thankful if anybody had a similar problem and a solution for that.

AMD RX 6600 XT Mining Hashrate Performance - PowerColor Hellhound

AMD RX 6600 XT Mining Hashrate Performance - PowerColor Hellhound

AMD Ryzen 5900x, Asrock X570 Taichi Razer, Crucial Ballistix Max 4400Mhz, PowerColor Hellhound RX 6600 XT, Corsair H150i Pro AIO, Seasonic Prime 1200 Watt, in Corsair Obsidian 500 D case.

    Hey All,

I did my usual live stream on 8/16/2021 on my channel, SerpentX Special Forces. I continued testing off the camera but here is what I got so far, however, please feel free to share your data or findings below with the community. Please take time to watch videos and see the notes below.

    Thanks

    - Vega

    Summary Video - https://youtu.be/KFkAuB67xho

    Live Stream Link: https://youtu.be/HsGkT479bqs

**Note: with this newer generation of AMD GPU's there are "Memory Timings - Default" and "Memory Timings - Fast". Not all Algos will see a performance boost with Fast timings, but I added it to the data. Drivers are still not as great, crashes will happen and you will have to re-apply your clocks, and power draw readings in HWinfo, AMD Radeon software, and the Mining programs all reported something different, so the Power draw below was taken from a Kilowatt meter.

Additionally, when the driver crashes happened I either had to reboot the system twice or install the drivers fresh. This also happened during my live stream, however, this will probably be fixed in upcoming AMD driver updates or patches.

\*When setting Core clocks, Mem, or voltage it will always run lower than what is set.***

Ethminer vs T-rex for 3080 cards and lowest fees and best performance?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2021 01:44 PM PDT

I've been running pretty successfully using t-rex and the ethermine pool. Trex has the 1% dev fee.

I believe ethminer is at 0%. I havent tried this software and dont see a ton of info.

Is it better to run ethminer and have 0% or do you lose performance and it outweighs things?

Also.. side question, i saw awesomeminer i think for windows, which looks like it has a nice gui, not sure if thats worth checking into or not (IE: looking for a way to self contain the mining so if there is a crash the whole pc doesnt crash, perhaps that or Containers or Vmware VMs?)

EDIT: i think from the few bits of info i can find, trex is more stable, so i'm probably better off anyway.

    Thanks in advance
