    Which one is your favorite?

GPU Server case, anyone try the 6/8 GPU case from Elecbee? I like the idea of server cases, and was wondering if anyone has had any experience/luck with this specific model? Shipped and all it is ~$160.

3070Ti tricked in to mining Ethereum better?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2021 11:40 AM PDT

So I got a new 3070Ti Today and sure enough it was LHR not like i did not expect it. So was messing around with it and tried this. First I set up a Firo miner with Trex and started it mining Firo alone. It was getting 3.7MH/s no big deal that was not the goal I had in mind.

So then I started the Ethereum Miner to mine both with the 3080 and the 3070Ti cards. And it started at 150MH/s (combined) and then crept down to 133MH/s but once I click out of that pc (using remote pc) and let it run alone then check on it after a few minutes it was back up to 148MH/s (combined). So its not perfect but with it mining Firo at the same time I can live with that kind of hashing for it being nerfed.

Can anyone confirm this works for them?

    ************************************** UPDATED ***********************************

I tried this same trick using RVN except it did not work at all in my opinion. I started it mining RVN on the 3070Ti card and it was doing 23MH/s on it. Then when I started the ETH mining again using both cards I was only able to get 123MH/s. I tried it several times and it would not work.

So I also tried this using BTCZ and this was a total disaster as I could not get it to even mine BTCZ at all I have to have something messed up with the settings. Will try this one again later.

So far this is all I have tried. So I went back and tried again with FIRO again it worked just like before 2-3MH/s and ETH 150MH/s

is there a definitive guide for OpenCL/hybrid AMD?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2021 07:19 PM PDT

Hi all, I've spent about 2 months trying to get this hybrid amd to work with opencl.

I can't seem to find a proper How-TO, with other amd gpu's. I have a 4G R5 M335, and if I try any of the drivers above vega 10, they don't work. I HAVE tried an amd-pro driver for vega 10, that kind of worked, but none of the miners could see the gpu, and when I pointed the processing to the AMD (DRI_PRIME=1), like a video, it would show up all corrupted. I confirmed with clinfo that I do have the right opencl driver pointing to the amd, and I do see access to the card via radian top. I've even worked with the grub.boot variables with mixed results. any help would be appreciated.

I want to start mining RVN and XMR in linux.

3060 and 3080 on same system

    Posted: 23 Jul 2021 06:16 PM PDT

How can I use the 470 driver on the 3060 while still making sure my 3080 drivers are up to date? I worry that if I let geforce experience download the drivers it will overwrite the 470 drivers.

Started with a 3090 to test out the water. Now at 325MH/s. Anyone else mining with a Titan X Pascal?

Started with a 3090 to test out the water. Now at 325MH/s. Anyone else mining with a Titan X Pascal?

Over the months I have acquired more cards onto my rig and here is the current result, with XMR also being mined with my 3900x. The Titan X card is way too hot but I haven't found a solution yet other than selling it off and get something else.

The rig is very janky as I didnt intend to mine originally. Then I switched from ITX to ATX, then a full backplate waterblock for the 3090, then and then and then and finally the results you see in the vid below. Any advice/recommendation or comment is very much appreciated!

I'm using gminer and xmrig together on Windows. Is there a better Linus based OS for these 2 coins?

turn down your volume or mute the video. the actual noise is not that bad irl, or im accustomed to it already lol

Nvidia's LHR and future mining...could they add other mining?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2021 11:25 AM PDT

Imagine you buy any new LHR card because you don't care about ETH mining since it will be going away shortly anyways....is it possible for Nvidia to somehow activate the lower hash rate at a future date for other mining?

I don't know if I'm making much sense...not quite sure how to explain it.

Whats everyones $/hash limit right now. Considering 15cad/hash as good? or should we start dipping deeper?

    Mounting MOBO to DIY Rack.

    Posted: 23 Jul 2021 12:55 PM PDT

This one goes out to the boys making mogul moves with their wooden mining racks. I just built my own wooden rack and the only thing I'm struggling with is how to mount the motherboard to the wooden frame. My standoffs are so short I can't screw them into the wood. How do you guys handle your motherboard placement on u conventional racks?

    PSU supplied 8pin PCIE to 2x 8pin + a splitter = Safe?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2021 08:25 AM PDT

Is it safe to use the 8pin splitter cable that came with my PSU, with an additional splitter, to power both the 3070 + 6pin riser? So I'd have 2x 8pin + 1x 6 pin from a single 8pin PSU output

Red Panda Mining does it here - https://youtu.be/zzS5iYlWm4k?t=3170

I would be using this 2 times, on the supplied EVGa cables, 1300w P+, running 3070's with a current draw less than 120w on hiveos
