Which Motherboard should I go for IF I want to add atleast 6 GPUS ? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 02:15 AM PDT Guys which MOBO should I go for if want to add as many as atleast 6 GPUS down the road And yah I only use AMD processors coz they are way efficient and cheaper than Intel ones for me [link] [comments]
My rig just got stuck, but after rebooting it works good once again. Is this an issue? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 04:51 AM PDT Hello, yesterday I finally set up my rig once again after it got burned during a thunderstorm. It stayed online for about 20 hours, but then I checked its state via HiveOS web gui and realised that only one of the GPUs was mining. It seemed weird, because the OS detected the remaining cards, so I decided to reboot it. After reboot, the rig is back online with all of the GPUs mining. Should I worry about these kind of crashes? So I didn’t know this and figured I’d share … Posted: 22 Jul 2021 04:12 PM PDT So I figured I'd share this since I see so many people talk about voiding their warranty's by opening up a gpu … apparently the manufacturer cannot void the the warranty like this. It's against federal law. Edit; Specifically in the USA sorry didn't add this in ^ https://www.vice.com/amp/en/article/gv5ddm/warranty-void-if-removed-stickers-are-illegal [link] [comments]
3070ti GPU Memory Junction Temps Posted: 22 Jul 2021 07:20 PM PDT So I got a 3070Ti that I added to my mining rig, why? Because it was 800 bucks and I don't care about ROI. I'm literally doing this because its a fun hobby for me, so don't bore me with the "omg you'll never hit ROI" or "you missed the boat, goodluck selling it for 100 bucks" So anyways, I fired up my 3070ti on bone stock settings with T-rex mining Ravencoin. Now with my exp I have noticed my 3060ti on Eth gets 64 M/h and on Ravencoin it gets 32 M/h so I'm already expecting half of a theoretical 80 M/h of what would be a normal non crappy LHR rating for Eth. To my surprise my 3070ti is blistering past 42 M/h on Raven with stock settings. So I open MSI afterburner and toss +200 core, +800 mem and my GPU temp chills at 55c with the auto fan maxed at 100%. I watch the M/h sky rocket to 51M/h . . . like omfg. Then it hits me, what are my junction temps? OMFG 118c! (per HWiNFO) I hit reset on the settings, send the fans to manual 100%, but this doesn't change the temps at all, I check and this bad boy is running at 310 watts!!! WTF! I drop the power to 200w and the junction temps drop to 90c . . . only frikken 90c??? So next part, I went to tomshardware.com and a couple other sites (particularly gamer sites) and saw a lot of complaints about the junction temps on these 3070ti commonly hitting 100-110c when overclocked in gaming scenarios and it seems like most cant seem to settle on if temps over 100c is ok on these cards So what is the general consensus on the memory junction temps on these 3070tis and what tips and tricks are people doing to get these temps down? If you made it this far, thanks for hanging around, I have spent most of today on Afterburner playing with different settings, just wanted to share my craziness. Thank You Final settings for Zotac 3070ti 80% power, +200 core, +800 Mem, fan 90%. Getting 39-40 M/h Ravencoin [link] [comments]
i can never get more than 1 gpu connected Posted: 23 Jul 2021 03:24 AM PDT I've gotten an entirely new motherboard and riser and I'm still seeing an exclamation mark in device manager whenever I add another card. I've tested the cards all individually and they work. they are all Geforce. it doesn't matter which card I put in the main slot. I have no idea what to do and it's driving me mad. any ideas? is there se bios setting that may need changing? I tried on my old one changing to 1 2 and 3 pcie speed or whatever it is and none worked. not sure what else I can try at this point. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jul 2021 03:05 AM PDT Hello, I'm a phd student in AI and I do need gpus to train my models. I want to buy a gpu with a nice trade-off between hashrate and cuda capabilities (unlucky, AMD has no AI integration) I was wondering if the 3070/ti or 3060/ti are good bets. If I'm not wrong my local store has no-lhr models. What do you guys think? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jul 2021 06:36 AM PDT I am on ethermine east and I was getting 40% incorrect shares. So I switched to ethermine west and now I'm getting 14% incorrect shares. 3 questions. 1: Is that why my reported hash rate is at 61.9, and my average is down to 53.5? 2. Does that effect my profit? 3. Is there a way to lower the number of incorrect shares? Thanks [link] [comments]

Has anyone tried TeslaWatt hosting service? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 04:13 AM PDT Hi, I have two Antminer S19 and I'm planning to send them to TeslaWatt for hosting. Has anyone tried them? Are they legit? What was your experience? [link] [comments]
Rtx2060 Ravencoin remote desktop hashrate discrepancy Posted: 22 Jul 2021 07:43 PM PDT I am fairly new to gpu mining. I had a bunch of gpus underutilized so I decided to find a new hobby in crypto mining. I have a standalone system (for Chia farming) and have gpu mining Raven with T-Rex 0.21.4. System does NOT have a monitor attached. I remote desktop in to Windows 10 pro for maintenance or manual intervention if I need to. I check my pools websites a few times a day. And sometimes I notice the gpu in the chia system(a Palit rtx2060 6gb)has low hashrate. About 2.5+MH/s lower than it should be. If I then remote desktop into the system, the hashrate jumps up 2.5MH+ and stays there until(I think) I fully disconnect my remote desktop session. Not sure the exact trigger of the low hash, but it seems remote in and minimize the remote desktop window seems to fix it. It has latest Nvidia drivers, latest Windows 10 updates. I have one other 1070ti rig (my chia plotter) doing same mining/pool for Raven, same T-Rex miner, also no monitor attached, no issues I have another system with AMD Vega 56, teamredminer, no monitor no issues either. Is there something specific to rtx2060 that need a video output (physical hdmi/display port or virtual remote desktop) to not be "gimped". Any reg fixes/tweaks for this. I haven't been able to get google to help.. Just find 3060 dongle stuff for LHR bypassing. I haven't tried connecting a monitor physically to it either. Any knowledgeable people seen this and/or might have better fix than always remote desktop in? Cheers [link] [comments]

Win10 graphics power preference not showing both discrete GPUs, duplicate entries in list Posted: 22 Jul 2021 09:57 PM PDT I have a computer that I use personally for gaming and for mining. I want to be able to select which GPU runs which game, and W10 offers this feature, but it's not working correctly for me. My main GPU that typically is mining 24/7, a 3090, is in the main GPU slot, and there's a 2070 in the second slot that I also have mining but I want to be able to use it to game when I'm at home. If I plug monitors into only the 3090, or one monitor into both gpus, windows graphics performance preference settings only shows the 3090, twice in the list, and games render on the 3090, killing my hashrate. If I plug monitors into only the 2070, it shows only the 2070 in the list twice, and games run on the 2070, preserving my hashrate on the 3090, but preventing the option of rendering anything on the 3090 when the need arises. Sometimes, I want to use the 3090 instead of the 2070, like for VR games. Unfortunately, If I want to switch which GPU is rendering games, I have to physically plug the monitors into different GPU display ports and restart the PC. It's very inconvenient. If I'm right about how it's supposed to work, I think this setting is normally for people who have integrated graphics, to select between dedicated gpu and integrated. But shouldn't this same setting also apply to separate dedicated GPUs? How can I make both of them show up so I can chose what GPU I want to run each app? Here's an image of what my Graphics power preference menu looks like, with duplicate entries for the same GPU: [link] [comments]

Question about one PSU powering 2 Rigs Posted: 22 Jul 2021 06:10 PM PDT So i have a beefy 2000w PSU powering 8 cards on a BTC-37 board. This board doesnt have a 24-pin, instead drawing from a 6-pin PCIe connector to power RAM and CPU. I have shorted pin 4&5 to make it work anyway, which works fine. Now i was wondering if i could attach a regular ATX board to this unused 24-pin and power some more cards in that with the PCIe cables i have left over, or would that be unsafe? The PSU could in theory with the available connectors be powering the additonal system, but i dont know if thats a good idea. What do you guys think? [link] [comments]
Fans and cooling for GPU and CPU for mining etherium Posted: 22 Jul 2021 05:03 PM PDT What kind of cooling should I use for 6 Rx 580s and a ryzen 5 3600x. Any budget recommendations? Thanks!! [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Jul 2021 03:50 PM PDT When mining with my RX 580 8gb, I decided to turn on compute mode. My temps when usually mining went from 50 - 55 C to 60 - 70 C, and after about an hour, my AMD software said there was a bug in the GPU and crashed (The mining software). Should I still use Compute mode to mine? It has greatly increased my hashrate, but I do not want the card to overheat and crash multiple times. [link] [comments] |
