    Power Supply fan going hyper

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 07:25 AM PDT

I have an HP 80+ Platinum server power supply that I got from parallelminer.com. It's powering two 3080s. I'm having system instability problems (7 GPU rig) and one of the things that happens is sometimes the PC will lock up/freeze and I'll need to hard reset it. Once in a while when this happens, and after the two GPUs spool down, the server PSU will go totally berserk. The PSU fan will ramp up RPM every three seconds or so in steps, eventually reaching full on jet engine levels. It will not stop itself and the only way to stop it is to unplug it. I have a second PSU same make and model, that does no such thing. Anyone have any experience with this?

Does anybody know if Ethereum Classic will be going to PoS when ETH 2.0 releases?

Voltage isn't locked to Afterburner curve

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 06:33 AM PDT

I've noticed that when mining with T-Rex, Excavator, GMiner, NSFMiner (just a few I've tried), that the custom mining profile I have doesn't stay voltage locked. On my gaming profile, it never exceeds 0.9v which is what I have my voltage curve at.

However, on my mining profile core voltage never sits still but continuously creeps up a little.

This is my current curve, set to lock at 718mV at 1140MHz. This has been proven to be working well with Excavator and T-Rex, since both come with their own overclocking methods. NSFMiner however does not have such a feature so Afterburner profile it is.

After a bit, monitoring temps and power draw the voltage seems to creep up slowly. From 718mV to 725mV then to 73xmV and my power draw starts climbing too. From a steady 221w to over 230w with a little increase in temps as well. Hovering over the core clock curve indicator on the main MSI Afterburner app, it says that if you press L when you have a node selected it will lock it to that voltage and disable dynamic clocks and voltage (which is indicated by the white line in the screenshot), but it doesn't seem to work either.

TLDR : Gaming profile voltage lock works, but mining profile core voltage slowly creeps up from the maximum set in the curve, increasing power draw and heat, and lowering efficiency. Help?

Thank you for turning off your miners.

    Thank you.

To all of those leaving after PoS.

To all those jumping ship pre-1559, you all are the real MVP. I can't thank everyone enough for their contribution with keeping difficulty manageable.

    hiveos - missing gpu

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 09:20 AM PDT

hi currently I have 4 gpus (2x1660ti, super and 1070) on Hiveos - ethash, trexminer, Hiveon

When I add a 5th gpu (1060 6gb) one of my 1660 ti's disappear. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Is it because I need to pay for the 5th gpu? I have tried this by adding a different card (1070) and same thing happens meaning one of the existing gpu's disappear...i have 1 atx 500 powering the mobo and a psu 1200 (only doing 900w). switched around risers in diff slots...still same issue..any advice would be appreciated. thanks

    hashrate decreases if i overclock

I have a msi Ventus rtx 2060 super and I'm mining on ethermine with t rex miner

If I run the card on default clocks I get round 36 MH/s And I increase my memory clocks from anywhere between 100 to 900mhz it drops to 32-33 MH/s I have also tried reducing the core clock but it has the same result with increased power consumption
