Posted: 19 Jul 2021 05:16 AM PDT I was wondering if anyone ever had this kind of problem. I've been mining with a 3060ti since feb/mar and the card always did a good job. My settings (afterburner) were: Now when I try to mine (t-rex) with above settings, core clock stays on 200Mhz~350Mhz top. If I push the memories down to +0, the core clock goes up a bit. Looks like some self imposed power limitation. Now I have to use other settings to achieve 57MH/s@140w (power limit 71%). Looks good on gaming, even so the performance seens a tiny bit bellow some 3060ti (superposition 1080p extreme ~6700 points). Now, I was looking for it's power consumption and the card is chugging a lot moar power in idle, without anything connected, just sitting in idle (screenshot attached). Of course I made a lot of testing before posting: TL;DR: [link] [comments]

3080 Still Throttling After Installing New Pads Posted: 18 Jul 2021 10:44 PM PDT Hey everyone, before I posted this I tried looking for answers, but couldn't find anything. Basically the EVGA 3080 I had was throttling before I even changed the pads. Temp was running 108-110. I was getting a hash of 45-50 mh/s. So I figured, I changed the pads. I ordered the 1.5mm pads. Although it definitely is cooler, it doesn't help that the memory junction temperature still is hitting 108-110. And it's still the same hash. I also have another 3080 on the same rig that's pushing 96 mh/s. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
ASUS PRIME B460-PLUS - 4G Encoding? Posted: 19 Jul 2021 07:13 AM PDT Recently purchased this board and setting it up for a 6 GPU mining rig - I can't seem to find the setting for 4G Encoding... Am I blind or is this not a board that supports despite the numerous PCIe slots? Any help would be appreciated! [link] [comments]

Afterburner going back to stock after 30-60 minutes Posted: 18 Jul 2021 09:01 PM PDT I'm mining on a 3090, getting about 125Mh. It's mining with 90% tdp, +1370 mem and -50 core, but after a while it seems that Afterburner going back to stock settings even if the settings look the same, but mining drops to 107Mh. If i adjust anything, like -51 on core it starts mining at 125Mh again for a while. Any idea what it might be? [link] [comments]
Can 7 GPUs work with B450 Tomahawk max somehow? Posted: 18 Jul 2021 11:44 PM PDT Got 7 3060ti GPUs. Looking to setup mining system on my 3900x system. But motherboard has 5 pcie slots. Is it possible to connect 7 GPUs to this system somehow? Thanks in advanced. [link] [comments]

Gigabyte RTX 3080ti Eagle Thermal Pad Replacement Posted: 18 Jul 2021 03:26 PM PDT In case anyone is wondering pad sizes and how much temp difference it makes swapping thermal pads on their Gigabyte 3080ti eagle these were my results. Used Gelid Solutions Ultimate Thermal Pads: Back Plate is 3mm pads Front side around GPU chip is 2mm Rest of pads 1mm Used Kryonaut Thermal Grizzly Paste Tested on KAWPOW before replacement VRAM Temps - 110 degress Celsius getting 51 M/hs after pad replacement VRAM Temps - 84 degress Celsius getting 58 M/hs [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Jul 2021 09:42 PM PDT besides the known numbers, is there a way to see live how much power is drawn from each input? (how much W the card is currently using and from where is he taking it?) [link] [comments]
Why is the Gigabyte eagle AIB so cheap? Posted: 18 Jul 2021 07:18 PM PDT I ask because I have grown used to AIBs costing at least a few hundred dollars more than the FE card. am I overlooking something stupid? link to RTX 3070 FE on Best Buy at $500 USD: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-8gb-gddr6-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card-dark-platinum-and-black/6429442.p?skuId=6429442 link to Gigabyte RTX 3070 Eagle at Best Buy for $500 USD as well: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gigabyte-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-eagle-8gb-gddr6-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card/6437912.p?skuId=6437912 Is the Gigabyte just drastically lower quality silicon? How does this work? [link] [comments]
Getting extremely low hashrates (3mh/s) on a 980ti while im supposed to get around 22 mh/s Posted: 18 Jul 2021 06:46 PM PDT Hey , im a small miner just trynna mine with a 4 year old paper weight and im trynna mine some eth but for some reason , every other algo other than ethash gets normal hashrates but for ethash , i barely get 3 mh/s . Tried everything from trying more than 10 drivers from different times. Turned on "optimize for compute mode" but that doesnt seem to do anything . And i had a feeling that its an issue with windows not turning the option on , so i tried to mine linux but then i have no idea on how to turn on the optimize for compute performance in linux since they do not have nvidia control panel. Pretty much in short tried everything that came to my mind , Please do share any answers. (and yes before yall try to bully me for having a 980ti , ik its old but its supposed to get around 20mh/s and also it does have 6gb vram) [link] [comments]
Your aglorithm of choice & pool Posted: 18 Jul 2021 02:11 PM PDT I started w nicehash then went to phoenix with ethermine for eth for 3 months but now ive been using trex for roughly 3 weeks because of the CLI and better performance. For rvn I use phoenix but pool of 2miners because I havent transferred over to trex yet nor tested it because of time restraints. What are your go to algorithm(s)? [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Jul 2021 02:29 PM PDT I know that there are several Tutorials online, but sometimes a read contradictory things and before I burn my house down I what to make sure. So here a few questions. As far as I have understood it, one has to connect riser and Gpu always with the same Psu and not riser with one and gpu with a different. Right now I connected my Maninboard, fans, 5 gpus, and 5 risers with one Gpu. The other PSU powers the other 5 riser and gpus. Is it ok to just short the 2 connectors from the 24 pin on one Psu wich is Not connected to the Mainboard or do I need to bridge the second Psu to the first one? Sometimes I have read that there has to be a resistor between those two pins. Or maybe short them on both psus so they both are always on? Is it OK to connect for ex. a 3080 wich needs two 8 pin with one 8 pin through using a Y splitter and connecting the riser then to a different 8 pin? And in addition I am looking for a new OS what is your excperiance? Most importantly for me is of course performance. Do they all perform the same? Right now I am using t-Rex on windows. I know, that there are a lot of pretty looking OS wich are specialized for mining and have a good GUI (like Rave OS, Huve OS,…), but the are cost monthly. The only free one are Linux (I guess Ubuntu is the best) and Windows. But they are Limited to 12 gpus. Is it possible to still somehow use 13 ? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
anyway to make a 6 gpu board mining rig into 8? Posted: 18 Jul 2021 11:49 AM PDT my board is h81 pro btc r2.0 (6 gpu slots) anyone successfully in adding 2 more gpus by splitting pci and power? I always thought 1 power cable per gpu, but I also seen people with 3 gpus 1 power cable? lol [link] [comments]
Mining motherboard recommendations for gaming/decent resale? Posted: 18 Jul 2021 08:12 AM PDT Hey everyone. Just curious if you all have any suggestions for a decent mining mobo that could be used in a regular pc build for gaming/productivity or resale once POS happens. Would only need it to take 4 cards, 6 at most. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
