Posted: 22 Jul 2021 04:56 AM PDT Just testing 2x A100 at work to make sure thermals are ok in our server room. Nothing is better than mining for stressing temperatures. 170MH per card on default settings ... with power draw circa 250W. What a beast ! [link] [comments]
Is it possible to run a 3060 with the 470.05 driver and 3070ti on same rig? Posted: 22 Jul 2021 08:14 AM PDT Won't the 3070ti require an updated driver to mine when the 3060 needs the old beta driver to achieve normal hash rate? Curious if it's possible to run two different drivers on the same rig. And yes I know the 3070ti is lhr :/ Thanks! [link] [comments]

What prevents multiple pool mining? Posted: 22 Jul 2021 06:34 AM PDT If you're mining ETHash for example, and you're submitting "guesses" (shares) to some pool, and it could be anything from NiceHash to Ethermine to ProHashing, what prevents you from having your GPU do the Proof of Work and just submitting the same answer to every pool? Each pool would just see it as you submitting shares like you always do, and getting paid out PPLNS even if your share isn't the actual solution to mine the block. How does one pool know that you're not submitting the same results to other pools? [link] [comments]

Need guidance on first mining setup Posted: 22 Jul 2021 05:30 AM PDT Never mined before, but a friend of mine called me Tuesday morning saying that Best buy had RTX cards in stock. I wanted a 3080 FE for gaming, but they only had a 3090 FE left when I got there. The adrenaline clouded my judgement and I pulled the trigger. I figured I would flip it for quick profit but I didn't do enough research and it seems like the prices are coming down close to MSRP now. Feels bad man to be a bag holder LOL. That's what greed gets me I guess. Now, I'm thinking I will start mining with the card seeing as the flip profit isn't so lucrative. I have a couple older PCs and I'm wondering if either of them will be sufficient to act as a mining rig to host this beast of a GPU. The first PC is a i5 3570k on a z77 mobo w/ 8GB DDR3. The second PC I have is a Pentium G3258 on an unknown mobo w/ 8GB DDR3. I know they're both ancient machines, but will they hold me back for mining? If so, are there any recommendations for minimum requirements for CPU/mobo/RAM so as not to constrain the MHs I can get out of the 3090? [link] [comments]

Can I use 2 different geforce gpus for mining? Posted: 22 Jul 2021 07:11 AM PDT I've got a 2080ti and a 1080ti. Wondering if I could use them in the same pc for mining? Also would I need an sli cable? Cheers :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Jul 2021 05:48 AM PDT Hey group, did some google searching and reddit searching and can't really find an answer. Running Phoenixminer with my 3080 and unsure what, if any, arguments I should include in the Bat file. I had the original arguments in there but have realised they are got 4GB cards so have taken them out. I am OC using afterburner so I don't need those either (side question: although I like the idea of not needing to change the profile before mining…can it be programmed to go back to a original settings when closed or paused?) Any suggestions on arguments or should I just completely go through the arguments noted in the Doc and add anything that applies? [link] [comments]
Help - RTX 3070 Laptop 22 MHs max :( Posted: 22 Jul 2021 05:44 AM PDT Hi guys, I recently received a gift the latest Razer Blade 14' with RTX 3070. I use a MacBook air for my daily laptop needs and I have a PC for my gaming which outperforms this laptop by far. So I thought I would put it to good use (I cant sell it as it would offend the person who gifted me with it), so I decided to mine. Does anyone here have anybody here able to help? Thanks in advance! Disaster recovery loan for farming due to loss in revenue Posted: 21 Jul 2021 10:50 PM PDT Would I qualify for federal loan/grants since due to extreme heat my yield (hashrate) fell, had shutdown farms(mines) , crop withered (thermal pads became oily), fire damage (gpu risers burnt out)?😇😎🤪 [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Jul 2021 05:30 PM PDT So I've checked out a few sites and the values given vary wildy pc part picker won't let me chose a different gpu so two 2080tis will yeild 702 Watts while another says 680 Watts, thing is I run my 2070super at max 110 Watts while mining. And plan to game on my 2080ti in the day and have them both mine at night. I'm using trex miner. Is this safe? If I load my psu too much when switching OC profiles what will happen if it gets over loaded? Will it ware out my pus by loading it with supposedly 700 Watts (should be less in application) if I don't have clearance in my case I guess I'll have to use a riser cable/stand. Any advice or clarity on this would greatly be appreciated, still very new to mining and what not, I'm just doing this cause its fun. And gonna get cold where I live. :D Temps low, hash high. ~ [link] [comments]
Looking for advice and tips for mining eth with a 3060 Posted: 21 Jul 2021 06:05 PM PDT I just recently got into mining after finally being able to buy a 3060. Currently, I'm using nicehash to mine bitcoin, but I'm more so interested in mining ETH until it switches over to pos. Just curious if this is an option? Also, from what I understand about nicehash, I'm not actually mining bitcoin, I'm selling my hash power so nicehash can mine eth? Am I understanding this correctly? [link] [comments]
Is any one adding more cards to their rig now? Posted: 22 Jul 2021 12:45 AM PDT Used 3070 are under 850 here and I can add up to 4 more cards with that add2psu thing but last month I loaded up on 3070s at 900, I would've came out ahead if I waited until now to buy the cards. I didn't mine $50 of profits yet and prices dropped by $50 or more since I got them. [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Jul 2021 11:43 PM PDT Anyone know if I can fit two gpus in this one it doesn't seem like enough space and the small pcie is under the card so I can plug in a riser , can I use the pciex16 to plug in a riser meant for the small pcie ? Or what are my options? I want to add another card [link] [comments]

Anybody mixing LHR and non-LHR on the same rig/mobo? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 08:50 PM PDT I have a couple cards laying around, 1 is LHR and the other isnt. Wondering what the most profitable solution is here as I'm assuming we can't run multiple different algorithms with cards that are on the same mobo? Thanks so much [link] [comments]
Does anyone have experience using 1 to 4 PCIe expansion cards on HiveOS? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 08:47 PM PDT I want to use this expansion card i bought on my BTC-37 miner, as i understand its a plug and play device if the necessary drivers are present but thats the part im scared about. The CPU on my board can manage 32 1x PCIe lanes, but does linux based HiveOS have the necessary drivers so i can use it? Worst case ill switch it over to windows and use minerstat. What’s the advantage of mobos with multiple pcie 16 slots? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 02:20 PM PDT As title says, what's the advantage of a mobo (like the btc-s37 for example) with 8 x pcie 16 slots, when all you need is 1 pcie 1.0 slot, risers, and a 4x splitter to run 4 cards on that single slot? You could theoretically run the same number of cards (8) with 2 x pcie 1.0 as you could on a btc-s37? Thanks! [link] [comments]
What parts should I watch for when people start dumping? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 09:46 AM PDT I wasn't around for the last crash, but I started mining with my personal hardware around January. I've really enjoyed the hobby so far, and I'd like to build an actual rig when everything dies down. With the current market, it's hard to tell what's a good deal and what isn't. I have to keep reminding myself that a year ago, a RTX xx60-level system was around $1000, not $1500 like it is now. What parts should I watch for on the second-hand market (Craigslist, FB, OfferUp, etc) and at what prices? [link] [comments]
