Posted: 19 Jun 2021 09:19 PM PDT Hopefully I don't get downvoted because I'm actually curious. If I'm withdrawing as soon as I'm able to on NiceHash (.0005 btc) and putting it on an actual wallet, is there much of an advantage to an OS like hiveos? Just asking because I ordered my first gpu for a dedicated mining rig and am curious. Thanks in advanced :) [link] [comments]
China's BTC Crackdown and its effect on smaller miners Posted: 19 Jun 2021 06:16 PM PDT Wouldn't the drastic reduction in hash output due to the relocation/decommission of large scale mining operations in China mean that the demand will go up for smaller scale hash production (us) and therefore mean an increase in compensation rates? Provided the information of the Chinese legislation is true of course. [link] [comments]
Countries with Stock Availability? Posted: 20 Jun 2021 05:16 AM PDT I am considering taking a short vacation and the thought of going to a country with GPU availability has crossed my mind. I wanted to ask if there are any countries right now where you can walk into an electronics store and purchase a new GPU due to large availability unlike the shortages in the US and European countries [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Jun 2021 04:27 AM PDT Seeing the bear market for Eth set in, I'm wondering if anyone knows of anyone tracking the price of GPU cards. I bought some 3090s right at the tippy top of the recent Eth price. I'm preparing myself for a 'told-you-so' when I see the GPU prices have fallen too. [link] [comments]

Windows Based Software for Memory Junction Temp Reporting Posted: 19 Jun 2021 06:40 PM PDT I'm looking to monitor my rigs remotely. I use Windows-based systems for mining. I recently acquired some new cards and I'm looking to be able to remotely check in on the memory junctions temps on the new RTX 3080s. So far I have tried Aida64, not really that good. HWInfo is difficult to view multiple GPUs, and GPU-Z makes it difficult (and laggy) to view multiple GPUs. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Jun 2021 10:18 PM PDT Currently have a XFX RX 570 4gb with Micron memory on it. I cannot find any mining bioses for it, nor can I modify the current bios because the memory shows up as unknown in PolarisBiosEditor. Any guidance/explanation is appreciated. TiA. [link] [comments]
Would you buy a 3080ti at MSRP to mine? Posted: 19 Jun 2021 09:59 PM PDT True they're not going to mine ETH well, but when ETH goes 2.0, everyone is going to move on to mining something else anyway. Maybe ERGO? Would you buy a hash limited gpu for msrp, and mine an alternative coin with it, even though it won't be as profitable as ETH, (at least for the time being)? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Jun 2021 05:05 PM PDT hey i have question hope some one can help, i just got my PCI-E Riser Card M.2 Port to PCIE Expansion Card from Amazon and it has 4 pins to sata power, i did read on the internet i dont need to power that M.2 Pcie the motherbored will do the job is that right ? keep in mind i have 6 GPUs runing on motherbored and i plan to install 2x M.2 Pci-e [link] [comments]
What will happen if the GPUs pull too much power from the PCI-E cable? Posted: 19 Jun 2021 04:18 PM PDT Does the PC shut down, could it start a fire? Does the GPU throttle itself? I'm trying to power 1x 3080 and 1x 3060 Ti with a 850 watts PSU, the 2 GPUs combined requires 3 PCI-E cables. I only have 2 PCI-E cables so I'm using a splitter on one of them. I am not able to get a 3rd PCI-E cable, it's an OEM PSU and they don't sell cables individually. It will be 1st PCI-E cable to the 3080. 2nd PCI-E cable split into the 3080 and 3060 Ti. Tips for knowing when thermal pads need changed? Posted: 19 Jun 2021 06:51 PM PDT I can't find much consistent info about how often it's recommended to change thermal pads on a card. I've got a 3060 Ti FE I've been mining mostly 24/7 since around February 15, temps on average about 46C I'd estimate. (First few months were cold so open window helped). It's summer now and temps are about 50C average. Saw someone post their 3080 amp holo replacement pics and I'm wondering if that's partially accelerated by GDDR6X temps or if I'm about due for thermal replacement. I'd rather not open my card until I need to, so hesitant to just visually look. And I assume once I open it, I sorta need to repaste at minimum. Any tips? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Jun 2021 04:47 PM PDT Is it safe if my gpu reaches 47 degrees Celsius at 75 % fans long term? There's currently heat waves and I'm worried about my single GPU. I have no way of cooling the room. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Mining with One Desktop 3080 GPU and a Laptop Posted: 19 Jun 2021 03:01 PM PDT I'm getting an EVGA 3080 GPU and want to mine with it. My main goal is to build a mining rig with another 5 GPUs in the near future when GPU prices go down (hopefully). However, short term I want to mine with one (1) GPU and spend the least amount of money to do so (keeping in mind that I want to expand to 6 GPUs). My options are:
Option 1 - One GPU and Laptop
Option 2
Option 3
Which one is the cheapest/smartest option? Does it make sense to buy parts for a 6 GPU rig and only use one (1) GPU in it? Is that even advisable? Any other suggestions? Thanks [link] [comments] |
