Are my memory temperatures normal for my EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra? Posted: 26 Jun 2021 10:35 AM PDT I've been reading a lot of posts and I'm seeing a lot of variation among 3080 ftw3 owners regarding memory temps. Some are reporting temps in the mid-80s, some are in the mid-100s. Are my temps to be expected with this card, or should I look into replacing/upgrading the thermal pads/paste? Specs:
I noticed some discrepancy with the fan %s between PrecisionX1 and GPU-Z. It appears GPU-Z reports the fan speed more accurately, with PresisionX1 under-reporting the percentage. Would 93.2c on the memory temp as reported by GPU-Z be expected for this hardware and settings, or should I look into replacing the thermal pads and repasting the GPU? 5th card not being detected on windows Posted: 26 Jun 2021 10:19 AM PDT Hey guys, I've been trying to get my 5th gpu to get recognized in windows 10 and for some reason it doesn't want to show up. The 5th/6th pcie slot doesn't seem to want to Recognize any cards. It's not the card because I would plug it into the other 4 pcie slots and it'll work. I'm using pcie risers and a double psu. I have a z390-PLUS gaming mother's that has 6 pcie slots. All the card put out video output but whenever I plug it to the 5th pcie it doesn't want to get recognized. Thanks in advance. New to linux, trouble getting overclocks to apply in ubuntu Posted: 26 Jun 2021 09:51 AM PDT Using nanominer to run two GTX 1660 Super's off of a 3900x, nanominer as it's what I'm most familiar with and I am still basically all thumbs with linux. Everything is installed, I got it running with power limits successfully applied via config. However when I apply an overclock in the config, it tells me overclock failed. I'm only telling it to apply +500 to memory, and I know both of these cards happily accept +1000. Also, I'm having to reboot between every test. It successfully creates the DAG file the first time I run it, but any subsequent runs tell me I have insufficient VRAM. Reinstalled drivers, running the proprietary 465 drivers now. When I try to apply an overclock I get this text, so I ran the indicated commands, changed the coolbits option to 31, rebooted and now it isn't telling me that I don't have permission, but it is telling me that overclocks just failed. Can anyone help? I'm really close to having this whole machine set up how I need it, but that +1000 to memory is a 17% hashrate increase, gonna want that. :p [link] [comments]
Do you need to pay taxes on crypto-mining profits at the end of the year ? Posted: 25 Jun 2021 03:34 PM PDT I really wasn't thinking about that at first but this has be haunting me lately. [link] [comments]
Bought a 3060ti LHR by accident -- Anyway to bypass this? Posted: 26 Jun 2021 04:55 AM PDT I can return it (despite saying warranty void if mining LOL) but I'd rather keep it and bypass the fucker. Only mining bitcoin on NiceHash atm. it's a 3060ti iCHILL one btw. thnx all [link] [comments]
Do the new LHR graphics cards affect all mining algorithms or just ethash? Posted: 25 Jun 2021 09:41 PM PDT I have a chance to get my hands on some 3060s and 3070s at MSRP but they are all LHR or rev 2 as they say it. I know that they are nerfed for mining, but I have seen articles that they only affect ethash and not other algorithms. Is that correct? I want to make a purchase and want to make a decision fast. Help me guys, thanks! [link] [comments]
I'm doing a survey on crypto miners, hope you can help! Posted: 26 Jun 2021 07:33 AM PDT Hey everyone! I'm a student from the Philippines doing a survey for crypto miners on the topic: "Creating Criteria for the Viability of Cryptocurrency Mining as a Passive Source of Income for Filipino High School Students". It'll only take 5 minutes, and no personal info is required. I just want to gather your experiences and advice as miners. It would mean a lot if you could participate and share with others. Thanks! Edit: a valid email is required, no other personal info is necessary, my bad. Thanks to u/emanresuymsseug for pointing it out! [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:16 PM PDT Nicehash / NBminer This was a used card that I bought last week and I only got to set it up yesterday. Is this card defective? OC setting is -502 core, +1000 mem, 70% power, 60% fans, only getting 60 MH/s on that and 10% invalid shares. Stock settings mines at 51 MH/s with 3% invalid shares. It is using the latest Nvidia drivers. [link] [comments]
