    ASUS TUF 1660S Different Hashrates

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 01:53 AM PDT

    Hey Guys,

I got two cards running and getting difference hashrates, details below. I refuse to believe its because one of them is the overclock version. Is there something else going on? Any idea?

    ASUS TUF GTX1660S-6G - 27 Mh/s

    ASUS TUF GTX1660S-O6G - 31 Mh/s

Both are currently running -502 Core and -502 Memory, 60% Power.

    Thanks!

Edit* Solution for future reference. Even though the cards are so similar, they must run different memory....

(I actually don't know which is which, just been playing with settings. Just try both):

    1. 31 Mh/s, ~59°C, 30% fan (auto) -502 Core and -502 Memory, 60% Power = 80watts
    2. 31 Mh/s, ~59°C, 30% fan (auto) -200 Core and +1000 Memory, 65% Power = 80 watts

    Hold ETH or RVN?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 07:47 AM PDT

I just bought Ledge Nano S on Amazon for 40 euros and now I finally have a cold wallet! :)

I use Nicehash to mine (so I get paid in Bitcoins).

I'm thinking about converting 40% to Ethereum and 60% to Ravencoin.

I'm posting this here because I'd love to read the feedbacks (since I'm not a professional on the subject)

My power went out last night during a storm. Rebooted my rigs this morning and this one isn't seeing the RTX2070 now for some reason. Connections are all good and I've restarted it thrice with no change. Thoughts?

Downsizing rig: which gpu to keep/sell

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 07:17 PM PDT

Over the past 2 months I've been having trouble with heat generation. While I tried to devise strategies to manage the heat, I've unfortunately come to the conclusion that it would be preferable to just sell some gpus for now (considering they are still selling for a good price). Just need opinions and rationales on which ones to sell/keep. Any input welcome, as long as it's constructive.

As per sub rules, this is NOT for sale post, and will not respond to any buying inquiries.

Currently considered gpus: Sapphire RX 5700, Sapphire RX 580 8gb, reference 6700xt, zotac 1660 super, asus 3060.

Here are my rationales so far:

A: sell off the 1660 super + rx 580, would shave off some good wattage (and consequently less heat generation) as well as open up space for a more efficient gpu in the future.

B: sell off the 5700 because it has more resale value to miners right NOW, vs. potentially less later on.

C: honestly a little worried about the 6700xt reference gpu... high memory temps. Not sure how risky it is over long term, but better to sell it off to a gamer rather than to risk having it burn out from constant mining?

Mining rig suddenly stopped but only on 1200w server psu that not showing any wattage for 2x3080 and 2x3070 that pull around 700w. First and 2nd gpu on atx psu stop working just idling. I did reboot and it run again. Anyone have same problem? Any fix or something wrong? Thank you.

Do all cryptos increase in dag size over time? will 4gb vram cards become obsolete in the future?

    Posted: 21 Jun 2021 02:09 AM PDT

Can someone inform me about dag, like do all cryptos increase in dag size over time, will 4gb vram cards become obsolete in the future, should i be buying 6-8gb vram cards to compensate for the dag size increase, or does it take a very long time for dag size to increase?

Update on my 3090 vram cooling. I stripped the whole old setup apart, used a thermal glue to really glue the heatsinks on to the card. Tried using the same stuff for the fans (gluing the onto heatsinks but without success, so zipties again :P -300/+933 gives ~118,9mh/s, 53c/88-92c at 30c ambient.

Did my GPU die? PSU in smokes, RIP

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 11:21 PM PDT

Hello all, I recently started mining again after a few years, below is my configuration at present

    OS - Hive

GPU - 2 X Powercolor Radon RX 5700xt Red devil

PSU - EVGA 1300 W Gold edition (still in warranty-Microcenter)a

    Processor - i3-6700

    RAM - 8GB DDR4

I was trying to undervolt one of my card since its memory clock temperature is running at 90 Degree Celsus and instead of entering "775" for the "Memory Controller Voltage" i.e VDDCI I mistakenly entered "7775" in Hive and the rig shutdown. not realising it I tried to turn it back on, and the power board sparked and stopped working, still not realising my mistake I changed a new power board and turned it back on again, this time the PSU was in some smoke I quickly turned off everything and understood my mistake.

    1. Now I am not worried about my PSU since its incomplete replacement warranty, I think I can replace it tomorrow my only question is do you think any of my GPUS might have damaged I do not see any kind of damage on anything else apart from PSU?
    2. Now if my GPU is all good, how do I safely turn it all back on tomorrow, after I replace my PSU.

VBIOS for RTX 3060 non ti with less than 58% power draw

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 05:02 PM PDT

Has anybody a link to a VBIOS for the RTX 3060 non ti, which allows to set power draw below 58%? At the minimum 58% my VBIOS supports the card isn't losing any hashrate so im curious if a can go lower.

    PC Keeps Restarting while mining

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 05:43 PM PDT

Hi I just started mining a few days ago, I use NiceHash miner and I've been using the exact settings they recommend me. It's been going well the first few days but over the past 24 hours my system keeps shutting off and starting itself back up. I'm not really sure what it is, and I don't know if it's a driver issue because I've reinstalled and same problem.

GPUs: -2x EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra (-150 Core, +900 Memory, 220 watts, 60° constant while mining -MSI RTX 2060 OC (-50 Core, +700 Memory, 120 watts, 70° constant while mining)

One 3080 and the 2060 are on PCIe risers powered by molex (I have PCIe power cable coming soon to see if molex is the issue)

And my PSU is a Corsair HX1200.

Up until now I've noticed that my PC will restart itself when all 3 cards are running at the same time (even though it didn't do that for the first 3-4 days I was mining with them) and it currently seems to be fine running the two 3080's. Could it be that there just isn't enough power for the 2060 or is there something wrong with the 2060 that causes it all to crash? The 2060 is one year old and the 3080s are brand new

I would appreciate any help I could get!

How to figure out electricity consume and hash rate for a card

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 02:16 PM PDT

    Hey
I check some calculators online regarding the topic and they usually provide some range. And some websites even provide slightly different numbers for the same hardware

Thinking to get nvidia geforce gtx 1660 super
Any way I can know in advance its power consume and hashing rate (for example for etherium, ZCash or raven)?

Maybe someone has experience with this specific card ?

    Thank you in advance!
