There's been a resurgence recently in the lie that says Bitcoin Cash is superfluous because even in the preposterous hypothetical situation where somebody wants to use their crypto instead of holding it, the Lightning Network meets that need.

This is false for a lot of reasons, but rather than expounding them I can just point to the bottom line, which is that nobody is using it. The LN is so terrible at its only purpose that people would rather pay the insane fees on the BTC base layer than jump through the ridiculous hoops required to use the LN.

I noticed the BTC mempool cleared out and they're accepting 1sat/vB transactions, so I looked at the BitInfo Charts and noticed BTC's transaction volume has decreased to a 3 year low while Bitcoin Cash's transaction volume is up 6x since 2018

If I were a business owner, switching to BCH would be a no-brainer, when you put up your prices, then as the price of BCH goes up, you can lower your prices in your store, and pose that as a "sale". You would be able to advertise your store with 50% off and crazy deals like that when the price of BCH doubles from your initial pricing point
