I invest in crypto with RobinHood but why is this a bad idea?

    Posted: 30 May 2021 09:35 AM PDT

I see a lot of posts going around saying that using Robin Hood or SoFi to buy crypto is a bad idea, but I honestly don't plan on every using crypto myself as a way to buy anything so why shouldn't I just use these trading platforms to get USD immediately instead of going through a wallet and buying the actual coins which I may never use? Is there more to it? Just curious.

I'm sure many of you have done it before but I can say I have now successfully used crypto to buy something not crypto related

Any decent multi-coin, open source wallets?

    Posted: 30 May 2021 04:05 AM PDT

I'm currently using Electrum-LTC but it would be nice to have a single wallet for every coin, so I can keep track of my assets in one place. I know about Coinomi and Exodus but they're both closed source, which makes me nervous.

I had a look for open source multi-coin wallets and found this:

    https://www.opensourceforu.com/2019/08/the-top-open-source-cryptocurrency-wallets/

but the only real multi-coin wallet mentioned there is Jaxx and under Cons it says " Slow to load, backdoors in apps, and seed extraction vulnerability"!

So, are there any decent, secure multi-coin open source wallets?

Kinesis Monetary Exchange introduces Litecoin, and adds CSV trade data export functionality

Kinesis Monetary Exchange introduces Litecoin, and adds CSV trade data export functionality

Kinesis introduces Litecoin and adds CSV trade data export functionality

We are excited to announce that Litecoin and CSV trade transaction statement exports are now available on the Kinesis Exchange.

In another important expansion of the Kinesis trading ecosystem, Litecoin (LTC) is now tradeable on the Kinesis Exchange. Additionally, we have introduced the CSV transaction statement export functionality enabling Kinesis users to easily download a report of their trade transaction history for tax purposes.

    Litecoin

The leading crypto asset makes a valuable addition to the ever-widening range of trading pairs available to Kinesis users. Litecoin (LTC) is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open-source software, which, at the time of writing, boasts the 15th largest market cap of all crypto assets.

Kinesis users are now able to trade Litecoin with a range of fiat pairs and crypto assets, as well as Kinesis gold and silver-based digital currencies, KAU and KAG.

The LTC market pairs now available on the exchange:

    CSV Export Functionality

In an important update for Kinesis users, CSV transaction statement export functionality is now available on the Kinesis exchange, enabling all system participants to export a statement showing all of their trade transactions, for tax purposes.

    How does it work?

Kinesis users can simply download their trade data, within a specified period, from the Recent Transactions in the Accounts tab or from the Kinesis Exchange interface itself. The tax data is available for download in both spreadsheet or PDF format.

Kinesis will provide users with the additional components of this release in the coming months, including export functionality for holding statements, debit card transaction statements, as well as account balance statements, detailing deposits and withdrawals for all assets. Looking ahead, we are working in the background to enable API integration for more seamless tax integration.

Following on from the recent addition of GBP trading pairs and today's Litecoin listing, Kinesis will continue to expand the range of trading pairs available to Kinesis users.

    I got her!

    Posted: 30 May 2021 07:40 AM PDT

Hello all, a very close family member to me, born in the 1950s has had a very hard time understanding why I get so excited over crypto and shrugs me off. About 6 months now I've been non stop nagging(and educating) to get that cash out of the safe and into some crypto!

Well yesterday the straw broke the camels back, I got her to buy Litecoin! A 62 year old boomer, is now storing Litecoin in Venmo!!

Extremely excited about the upcoming wallet capabilities and everything else releasing soon. It makes her feel comfortable because EVERYTHING is right in one app. I can't wait to teach about wallets and moving keys and ownership of these new class of assets!

Just wanted to pump everyone back up in these bloody days, do you understand if baby boomers are starting to move towards understanding crypto, what it means for future generations?!

    Let's change the world!!!

Anybody using the Mustard Wallet (for CoinJoin/privacy)?

    Posted: 29 May 2021 01:47 PM PDT

Hello! I'm fairly new to Litecoin and cryptocurrency in general, so if asking this makes me an idiot in some any way I apologize in advance :D

I would like to improve the privacy of some LTC transactions, but I'm not a big fan of just jumping on any mixing/laundering services, as I suspect I might just get ripped off. The Mustard Wallet seems really promising (based on Wasabi Wallet for BTC, with the same "CoinJoin" principle), but there doesn't seem to be enough people using it to actually initiate a CoinJoin..(?)

Is anyone using the Mustard Wallet? And if not, why? Should I look at some better alternative?

How do you cash out for cash when you want to? What's the cheapest way to get your cash from litecoin?

    Posted: 28 May 2021 04:16 PM PDT

I'm fairly new to crypto, but I have invested in 4 L3+ ASICS that are running 24/7. I understand how to cash out by transferring my coins to an exchange and then selling them.

What I'm curious about is what exchange charges the smallest fee or a flat fee vs percentage? (If any.) I don't want to be in a situation where I get screwed in fees when I'm ready to cash some or all of my coins just because I choose the wrong exchange. Would be nice to be able to start recouping some of my investment when the price is high on LTC without worrying about saving up so I can cash out higher amounts just so I am not getting high fees.

    Thanks everyone!

    EDIT: Located in the USA.
