They are coming for your crypto Posted: 02 May 2021 04:38 PM PDT I've seen this many times before. The establishment is launching a full-on propaganda campaign against crypto. Today Berkshire Hathaway basically called crypto evil and if you go to r/news or r/politics you will find the reddit hivemind is lapping it up. They will say/are saying that crypto is causing global warming, it enables child predators, organized crime, human trafficking, and so on. Eventually, they will find a way to call cryptocurrency racist and sexist, mark my words. Very similar to how Wallstreetbets has been defamed by the media. Only it will be much worse because crypto is a huge threat to the heart of establishment power and control the dollar. Educate your family, friends and neighbors. Because we are about to be under assault. [link] [comments]

Best Video for a beginner for an introduction in Ethereum Posted: 02 May 2021 10:46 AM PDT I highly recommend everyone to just watch this video in order to understand, what Ethereum is: Vitalik Buterin reveals Ethereum at Bitcoin Miami 2014 - YouTube It helped me the most and i could re watch this video hundred times, because it's so inspirational. Posted: 02 May 2021 09:50 AM PDT Does anyone know why the node count has dropped 60% since March? Something to be concerned about? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2021 03:06 PM PDT Sooo what will gas fees be like in say 3-5 years? If they are $10.. ETH will have a real hard time competing with ADA. Just spitting truth. Is there any clear indication that gas fees will be as low as $1-$3 in the future? I have not heard or found evidence of this being possible. Please someone tell me I'm wrong and supply facts. Thanks ! [link] [comments]
THE KEY: to making crypto grow (no matter which coin you’re rooting for) Posted: 02 May 2021 06:14 PM PDT Maybe this is common sense and yeah I'm pretty much a noob, but I think I figured it out. To make your preferred Coin (or any Coin) grow in value, wether it's Bitcoin or Ethereum or Doge or SafeMoon or whatever. The answer is simple.Everyone needs to contact random conglomerates, corporations, and companies and ask them if they accept that Coin. They will say NO. But if we all keep asking, some bean counter will notice and propose that they accept it. It will take thousands of us asking, but eventually they will cave. Because at the end of the day they just want consumers to consume And once a Coin is validated by the old guard and oligarchs, the Trojan horse will be inside the gates -Shrek Hands [link] [comments]
The world is not ready for Ethereum yet Posted: 02 May 2021 02:20 PM PDT I dreamed of Ethereum and a world in which all values are digitized. But reality forced me to find out the truth. I realized that the world is not yet ready for ethereum. Security: In the past, hackers could steal Excel tables or birthday photos from normal PCs. Not very motivating. Even companies didn't give much. Maybe their data was sold. But in the vision of Ethereum in which systems store vast amounts of values (keys), it suddenly seems worthwhile to break any system. Are normal users prepared for it? Can you imagine what sophisticated methods and conspiracies will develop to break systems that secure such huge sums of money? I don't think our end systems today are ready for it. They were not designed for that. Governance: How can you make sure a great movement stays great? How can you make sure it does not end in a disaster? What happens when Ethereum grows and grows and spans the world and in the end a small group of people controls the network? How is such a thing regulated? If you see yourself as a technologist, you cannot ignore these questions. Atomic physicists also said they were only interested in science and the result was the atomic bomb that was dropped on Japan. Society: Rulers used to control people because they couldn't read and were therefore uneducated. How can it be ensured that there is not a new class society between technologists and non-technologists? This does not only apply to blockchain, but that is where the influence should be strongest. What if Ethereum actually keeps its unspeakable promises about the future ("The global settlement layer")? Would society even be ready for it? I think there is a lot of catching up to do here. While the Ethereum community is open in theory, there are still problems sometimes in practice. There are so many people who fall victim to misinformation. Who should they believe if they don't know anyone? A dark vision I know but you have to consider and discuss all eventualities. [link] [comments]
What is the state of the art of politically motivated DAOs? Posted: 02 May 2021 07:02 PM PDT Question in title. What's the current going group researching political DAOs? Why aren't we seeing politically motivated DAOs collecting and deploying capital for real world goals? What's missing in the current ecosystem of technology that's stopping this? Quantum computing. Is it a foregone conclusion, and what is being done about it? Posted: 02 May 2021 07:40 AM PDT Quantum computing could be the death knell to existing crypto currencies because of a leap in processing power like we have never seen before. Is this real? And if so, what is Ethereum doing about it? [link] [comments]
Question regarding ETH2 staking on Coinbase? Posted: 02 May 2021 10:28 AM PDT So I have some ETH on Coinbase. I'm off a waitlist to stake my ETH now. So my question is this. When I stake my ETH it gets locked up and I'm not able to buy/sell the staked ETH until ETH2 comes around (PoS)? So will this staked "ETH" be actual ETH or will it be exchanged for some holding token called ETH2? Basically, I would like to stake ETH to earn "staking" rewards but at the same time I want to benefit from any gains that ETH experiences. So for any of you already staking ETH2 on Coinbase can you help me out before I decide to pull the trigger. I personally believe ETH gains in the coming months will be more than the 6% APR that staking offers. So will I be able to get both the 6% APR from staking and still earn gains on my ETH? Should I cancel my UniSwap exchange if it's pending 9 hours later? Posted: 02 May 2021 03:29 PM PDT Tried to exchange for a coin and the exchange has been pending on ether scan for 9 hours now. Should I just wait and be patient or cancel it? [link] [comments]
Can I do anything with a raspberry pi? Posted: 02 May 2021 11:02 AM PDT Just curious if there's any cool stuff I can get into. I'm by no means a programmer, but I do have a degree in computer science, so I'm not a complete novice. I'm considering buying myself a raspberry pi and wanted to know if I can do anything with ETH on it! I've been curious about dApp but I'm not sure if there's I can do since I'm not a super programmer. I'm also kind of new to ETH but I don't mind doing research so long as I'm pointed in the right direction! [link] [comments]

Is open (as opposed to private) finance fundamentally cheaper for the participants? Posted: 02 May 2021 11:36 AM PDT Let's say I send some money in an ideal crypto universe. Do I have to pay a premium to make the transaction private, or will their costs be equivalent once cryptocurrency tech evolves far enough? I am familiar with the various options for private transactions in cryptocurrency. What I am interested in learning is whether, in the long run, most transactions worldwide will likely be openly accessible. Of course private transactions will still occur even if they are at a relative premium. The implications of this on the global economy would be really interesting if so! Imagine being able to see a substantial portion of the global economy's money flows as freely as seeing information on the internet. [link] [comments]

Ethereum could perhaps be used to resolve geopolitical conflicts Posted: 02 May 2021 08:16 AM PDT Just thought about this after listening to the lex fridman podcast with Sergei nazarov Country A and country B agree to where clear territorial boundaries exist in the ocean They agree that if either of their territories are violated, the offender owes a 2 billion dollar fine for that action. Navy vessels patrolling in peaceful operations agree to keep GPS trackers on their vessels, and that data is fed through an Oracle network to ethereum blockchain. If gps trackers are shut off on purpose, the offender owes a 2 billion dollar fine paid out through the smart contract. If there is a malfunction, and it isn't reported, 2 billion dollar fine also goes through the smart contract. Visual drone/satellite data of ships and gps data is fed through oracle network to the ethereum in the smart contract as well. If violated, the fine is instantly fed into the treasury of the country who is the victim. No arguments, and the computers don't lie. I could have a flawed understanding of how these systems work, and this may not be feasible. I was just thinking of how cool that would be. [link] [comments]
