Posted: 03 May 2021 11:40 AM PDT Just put 1 Ethereum in the 2.0 staking on Coinbase. Happy to see where this leads to. Anyone have any thoughts on when they think 2.0 would be released for trading ? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 May 2021 01:17 PM PDT Do not allow the title to fool you, it holds some merit but is not 100%. For So long it has been spoken about that globalization is inevitable. It is said that a world currency would exist. In part, it is USD for the oil we buy. As we transition away from oil generally speaking and forms of petroleum will be grown and harvested naturally by plants creating carbon negative operations, It is only fitting crypto currencies become the world currencies. Unbounded by country of origin. The world has needed a backed currency for so long especially such a solid and secured method of doing so. A form of currency that does not need to rely on the trust of banks that creates huge credit bubbles and an unstable economy with false money floating around causing inflation at significant rates. It is anti bank, it is extremely traceable down to every step of the way the breadcrumbs have been proven to reverse hack millions of dollars back into its origins, as unlikely as it is that would occur. Crypto currency's are truly the future, and evolution. This is Darwinism in the market place. Do not believe anyone saying it is a crypto bubble, you will see more money flow into crypto exchange than you will any average stock in the coming years. Buy, hold, and continue to do so until you see this wealth transfer into your finger tips almost directly from banks and the world around you. Crypto currency is tantamount to the creation of the internet and it has yet to gain streamline, mainstream, traction. In as little as a few years cryptos will terraform the world. Upside/Downside of ETH2 staking (and APR) over traditional savings Posted: 03 May 2021 05:00 PM PDT I'd be interested in hearing the perspective of others regarding the upside or downside of putting a significant amount of my savings into ETH2 staking and earning 6% APR as opposed to leaving it in a traditional savings account. I currently have a traditional online savings account where I've parked enough money to give me roughly 1 year's worth of savings. I'm currently earning .5% interest (down from 2.5% when I signed up thanks to the pandemic and falling interest rates). Recently, I started dollar-cost-averaging into Ethereum and was then given the chance to stake my ETH in ETH2 through Coinbase. I'm getting 6% APR at the moment which is obviously a ton better than my savings account. I'm fortunate to have a very stable job where I'm not in any jeopardy of getting laid off/fired and I don't have any plans that I would need a significant amount of money for in the next 6-9 months. I'm also a believer that the price of ETH is going to continue to rise, especially when the new protocol upgrades and EIP 1559 are released. So, I'd like to hear some perspective from others in terms of the upside/downside of staking some portion of savings in ETH2 in order to benefit from the increased interest rate and the overall rise (hopeful... of course this is not guaranteed) in ETH. What are the downsides to doing this (such as not being able to use the funds until ETH2 is released, potential fall in the price of ETH, etc)? [link] [comments]

What is the reason for EIP-1559? Posted: 03 May 2021 02:34 PM PDT Why is Ethereum trying to make it more scarce? Is Ethereum changing it's narrative to become store of value like Bitcoin? How does miners feel about this? Assume they don't care about miners because proof of stake is coming. How does not printing more coins work in pos? Where is the incentives for stakers? Why do I need atlest 32 ETH to stake it from MyEtherWallet? Posted: 03 May 2021 11:14 AM PDT Is there a viable alternative I can use to stake my ETH and earn rewards if I only have 4 ETH? [link] [comments]

Does Ethereum have an intrinsic value? Posted: 03 May 2021 03:35 PM PDT I'm just curious why it's so difficult to find any attempts at calculating Ethereum's "intrinsic value". Unlike, art or gold or maybe even bitcoin which is more of a perceived value or a "store of value" I thought Ethereum would have an "intrinsic value" similar to the "intrinsic value" of a currency. But I can't find anywhere on the internet anyone even attempting to calculate Ethereum's intrinsic value. Why is this and how might one even attempt to calculate the intrinsic value of Ethereum? Why do ALL coins seems to DIP at the same time? Posted: 03 May 2021 07:35 PM PDT I've noticed a pattern. All coins seem to drastically drop at the same time. Like synchronized swimmers. It happened an hour or so ago. Why do YOU think that happens? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 May 2021 03:39 PM PDT Would someone be able to clarify the smart contract specifications for NFT's/Token. I know that they are both created using smart contracts, but my confusion is what is the actual smart contract. For example, when a new NFT is minted, is that actual NFT its own smart contract, and that contract gets traded? Or do NFTs get created from that specific NFT contract ex: Some general Cryptopunk Contract. The same goes with ERC-20 tokens, is each individual token its own smart contract that is managed by a general token contract? [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 May 2021 04:13 PM PDT So the biggest question is when is Ethereum 2.0 going to be fully released? I am not really worried about putting a 5 figure sum into staking. My issue is how long will this Ethereum be locked up for? I'm just thinking for worst case scenario and I need to become liquid fairly quickly. I've heard late 2021 and 2022 but with no more specificity. Has anyone heard anything more specific? My second question is in regards to staking rewards. Do the rewards compound? Meaning, that the rewarded ETH added to your total means you get a slightly bigger reward next time based on the APR? Or are you only rewarded based on the initial amount of ETH you have staked? How does this change if you don't have enough ETH to be a sole validator or you're staking on an exchange? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 May 2021 02:03 PM PDT So, today I got the option to stake from Coinbase. Can I stake my Ethereum from my personal Coinbase wallet that I have keys for? Or do I have to move it back to regular Coinbase? [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 May 2021 12:48 PM PDT I have a general question about NFT's and their interoperability. Is anyone working on a project or something that is aiming to accomplish this? I know Polkadot is working on blockchain interoperability, maybe this will be the solution to that? But I'm generally curious, say ETH loses popularity, would the ethereum based NFT's start losing value? Would be cool if you can transfer and validate between different blockchains [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 May 2021 02:34 AM PDT Been off for a long while. Wondering how you guys feel (or what's the general view) around staking at this stage. Opinions are appreciated! Thanks. [link] [comments] |
