Don't leave your BTC on exchange!! Lost everything to hotbit hack.

    Posted: 08 May 2021 02:41 PM PDT

Don't be dumb like me to leave BTC on small exchanges rather keep it in wallet.

After losing my savings on hotbit in the hack, I am not sure what to do nor I think I can restart.

Had 2 bitcoin in and had left there then later turned it into btc3L

In total I have lost over 80k, and I don't know what to do. I can't restart nor is there much left in it now

I feel like I am at the end of the line.... fck I don't wanna cry and to make it worse, due to covid, i don't even have a job and finding one now is impossible.

I don't know if it's against rules of this sub but if possible, I would be willing to do any online work.

I have over 3 years of digital marketing experience and have also worked in crypto firm as marketer before.

I feel ashamed to say but please upvote if you can... I am feeling really fcked up .

I learned it hard way. I hope it helps someone here.

Edward Snowden: I own more bitcoin than anything else.

    Posted: 09 May 2021 01:53 AM PDT

You guys made this possible. This week we delivered 2,579 lbs (1.17 tons) of food to people in need in Venezuela. Thank you.

    Posted: 08 May 2021 10:11 AM PDT

I want to thank to everyone who contributed with funds, shared our project and participated in the last update, for helping us to achieve this. More than 1,000 people has been benefited from your contributions in cryptocurrencies. Most of them are children, and older people who are unable to work and are suffering the impact of the humanitarian crisis that has affected our country for years now.

You guys made this possible with your contributions in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, along with our small team of volunteers that are working very hard every week.

More than 4,4 tons of food have been given in total to people in my community. All of them are in a dire situation, many of them are older people who are unable to work. I'm proud of our work and I wish to continue to help people with bags of food.

When i was in high school i sold bitcoins to buy cheeseburgers at Mcdonalds

I got like 100$ a month from bitcoins and felt like i king as a 16-17 year old.

Stopped mining because my parents saw a spike in electricity bill and the whole Mtgox thing.

10 years later i still hate bitcoins

    Cheers!

Bitcoin is the fastest startup to $1 trillion in history.

Also the first startup that allowed every human to be part of it and grow along with it. What an achievement!

Bitcoin Truly Is Superior to Gold

    Posted: 08 May 2021 05:18 PM PDT

After all I have read about gold vs bitcoin and just crypto in general, I can't even come up with a scenario in which crypto loses. If you want to watch something good that could show you just how dirty gold is check out dirty money on netflix or really just do basic research on what people are arguing. Usually nay sayers try pointing out how bad crypto is for the environment...it's not even close. Limitless potential out here and it's so early. I hope the world really starts to get educated on this, tell your friends and good luck you guys. Love this community!

Thoughts on this? I have seen people talking on twitter about satoshis now being listed separately on coin market cap, but is this a recent thing or has it been listed for a while? Will this attract new people to BTC, because of the hype?

    Bitcoin Imposter Syndrome

    Posted: 08 May 2021 08:36 PM PDT

I originally bough Bitcoin back in 2013 near the top of the cycle and all the way through the 2014 to 2016 bear market. Now that I am in my second bull market cycle, my gains are insane. I am so grateful for everything bitcoin has done for me and I spread my fortune as often as I can when I see worthy causes. I am really having trouble psychologically adjusting to being rich. It is weird to think about how wealthy I am compared to everyone else in my age bracket. It doesn't feel real when I look at my accounts.

My wife and I try to keep it to ourselves so nobody knows about our fortune other than a few family members who have also become wealthy based off of my advice to buy crypto. I'm just curious if other bitcoin OGs feel strange about their investment success and how they handle it.

What are actual advantages of Bitcoin beside it being first and largest?

    Posted: 09 May 2021 02:29 AM PDT

Bitcoin certainly is the most widely adopted cryptocurrency, which is a huge advantage. On the other hand it has some very serious flaws (energy inefficiency, scalability problems, high fees). There are many altcoins that address these issues, some do it better, some do it worse. So here's my question: would Bitcoin really be that good if not for a head start? If yes, why? If no, shouldn't we move towards technically better solutions while it's still early?

Not trying to hate on Bitcoin, I think it's a revolutionary tech, but I have a feeling that in future's history it will be in the same ship as direct current.

My bank suspended my account automatically when

    Posted: 08 May 2021 06:50 AM PDT

I tried to order a cold storage wallet.

    The irony.

I had to wait till they were open the next day. They said, "We just wanted to confirm you intended to make this purchase."

My bank held all my money for ransom for a day bc they wanted me to explain "why" I would purchase from an international vendor. "Because it's my money and purchasing is how I choose to express myself in this capitalist society."

This is why we Bitcoin boys and girls! Too much subjectivity, manipulation and gatekeeping with fiat.

One thing I appreciate about Bitcoin...

    Posted: 08 May 2021 11:35 AM PDT

The 24 / 7 market has GOT to screw with the old-timie Stock traders that are used to being able to work around set hours in the day for major activity.

For one, it's MUCH harder to manipulate the Market for US traders when somebody in India very well might blow up their plans in the middle of the night.
