RTX 3060 Crypto Mining Performance - EVGA XC 3060

Test Bench Specs: AMD Ryzen 5900X, Asrock X570 Taichi Razer, Corsair H150i Pro RGB AIO, G.Skill TridentZ RGB, EVGA XC RTX 3060, Corsair MP600 1TB Nvme SSD, Seasonic 1200 Watt PSU, Corsair Obsidian 500D Case

    Hey All,

Nvidia seems to have locked this GPU at the BIOS level, and while it runs 50% less hashrate on certain Algos, not all Algos are locked. I am interested to know what, at the BIOS level, is different then the other RTX 3000 series cards, so feel free to chime in. Right now here is the Data I got, and I will report any updates, if I figure out a work around. Decent gaming card though, so this GPU might be good for a "Game during the day, and Mine at night" user. However, not something you should consider building an entire Mining Rig with, so Nvidia I guess accomplished their goals...Check links below to livestream testing, and my other Reddit post contain 3060 Ti mining performance, so you can see which Algos are not having their performance reduced.

    - Vega

As of writing, if you mined the next top coin, you could earn up to $3.75 a day and ROI in under 100 days. Measured at $0.10 per Kwh, GPU priced at $400 and normal pool fees.

So I need to warm up a room in the back of a garage around 80 sq.ft . Would it be profitable at all to install a set of GPUs or dedicated miners to keep it warm and profit a bit at the same time? I'm in Ukraine and the price here is 6 US cents per kW.

Ways to make card last longer

Hi, I'm new to mining and I started mining just yesterday with my single 3070 founders edition in HiveOS. I wanted to know a few things but before that have a look at my settings:

    https://preview.redd.it/ye2z56igwtk61.png?width=1967&format=png&auto=webp&s=668995bb537c35bf30a80e7e187ea974debc2fe8

Now what I want is to my card last me forever (long enough for it to lose its value and become obsolete) and for it to last that long I heard keeping it cool and making fan not running at 100% is the key because I don't want to lose my fan either. I don't really mind if its not running the maximum hashrate it can get. I'm not a professional miner, I'm just doing this as a hobby and that's the reason I want my card to be safe. Could you guys please look at the charts and tell me what needs to be changed? What is the best core temperature and best memory temperature for the card for keeping it safe? what's the best autofan settings to keep my fan safe?. Any additional tips and tricks are always welcome. Sorry if some of the question seems stupid, this is my first time mining and I learned what I could from youtube but it doesn't explain everything. Thank you very much.

Ethermine/org won't work with my awesome miner setup (Invalid option: Stratum??) What did I set-up wrong?

Ethermine.org won't work on my awesome miner setup. Checked on Google, Reddit and the FAQs here. Can't find the answer. What did I set-up wrong?

I'm using a rig of 2X Gigabyte 1070. Planning to add this to my profile switcher in Awesome miner, but first just trying the pool by itself to see that it works (and as shown here - it doesn't...).
Been using MPH, Zpool and NH pool, and all 3 are running fine.

I have Trex, PHX and all the other relevant miner softwares. Using specifically PHX on 5.4C (not 5.5C) since 5.5 always crashed but the 5.4C works fine for me. I also tried Trex for this ethermine pool, and still it doesn't work.

Attaching my setup page and the diagnostics results. I -------ed the wallet address from the txt page screen shot. It normally has my wallet address which I input into the "worker name" as they suggest on the ethermine page.
As per the "stratum: 4444" I noticed it's pulling this from the pool page as 4444 and all the other info of alt stratum and port 5555 as well (w/ or w/o me inserting the "poolname:4444" into the pool URL...

Anyone seeing where the issue is? Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks!!

RX580 in windows only getting 24MH

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 06:50 AM PST

Hey y'all, I just picked up a used powercolor red dragon rx580 off of some sketchy website for a price I couldn't resist. I did a very basic bios flash following this guide as I'm used to the green team and have never needed to bios mod in the past. I have it running at 80W but only getting 24MH and change on nicehash. I know it's better to do ethash directly but I'm just using this as a hobby rig since I don't have anything else mining eth at the moment.

Card is running 900mv 1000 core 2000 mem, which is admittedly not very aggressive but if I drag the voltage slider below 885 the card will freeze on the desktop. Any tips?

Edit: compute mode is on, forgot to mention that little detail.

Mining with the new NVIDIDA 3060

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 06:00 AM PST

    Hey!

Just got my hands on two 3060 and trying to figure out to use them or not considering the hashrate-cap introduced in the drivers by Nvidia.

I have a rig running with two 3060ti mining ETH on HiveOS using Phoenixminer that I want to plug them into.

Is there anyway to "dual mine" with ETH on the 3060ti and RVN on the 3060 using HiveOS?

I might keep them only if it is easy to dual it like this.

    Thanks for all the info!

    7th and 8th GPU on MSI - MPG Z390

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 02:15 AM PST

Is anyone on here running a 7th and 8th GPU on there mother board?

If you are I'm assuming you're running on the M.2_1 & m.2_2 Slots.

I'm Currently running 6 GPU's but have enough power for 8 & was looking to see how I would connect to the these slots from riser. Is it just like normal (meaning the same way the risers connect to the PCIe slots)? Or do you need an additional adapter?

I will continue to look for you tube videos but in the meantime I thought I'd ask some of my mining bros.

    - I owe, I owe, so off to work I go.

Am I pushing my electrical panel too much here?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 07:21 PM PST

I live in a condo. I have a 100A panel. I have confirmed that near the meter (in the basement of our building), each unit has a 100A breaker (however you call it)

On the left side of my electrical panel, I have some double breakers like this: Oven (40A), dryer (30A), etc.

On the right side of my electrical panel, I have single breakers (and mini-breakers, which take half a breaker spot. I believe those are double-pole breakers but I'm not sure)

I am running several cryptomines. Each cryptomine peaks at 1500W, but otherwise uses 1200W-1250W (tested at outlet)

I am currently running 9 cryptomines for a total of 13500W.

In addition, I have some appliances I cannot turn off (yet, at least, lol). These appliances are:

    _________________________

    1. Fridge, which can peak at 800W. Let's count 1000W to be sure.
    2. Work computer, which can peak at 800W. Let's count 1000W to be sure.
    3. Various fans, around 500W
    4. Water heater, let's say 3000W at peak
    5. Lamps, TV, etc, let's say another 500W

    Total: 6000W

    ____________________________

This brings us to a grand total of 13500+6000=19,500W. On average per day, I consume much less than that (around 13-14 KWh), but I am calculating for peaks (max load).

My current cryptomine is working 100% fine and safe. Zero problem, no overheating.

Obviously I do not use any heating.

    My question is as follow:

I am wishing to add 3 more cryptomines on my last 3 remaining breakers, for a total of 4500W. My grand total electricity usage from mining will thus be 18,000W.

This will bring us to a grand total power usage of 18,000W+6,000W= 24,000W at peak. This is assuming everything that is connected is working at 100% of its capacity and then some. I expect to average around 17-18KW "real" power use

Is this all okay? Did I do my calculations right? I have 100A panel and have been told I have 2 legs for 120V each. This would bring me 100A * 120V * 2 = 24,000W max capacity, enough for my needs.

Obviously, if I need to use the dryer (which I don't) or oven, I'll shut down some miners temporarily.

Is my plan correct and safe? Thank you.

    3090 won’t go above 105MH/s

    Posted: 03 Mar 2021 01:06 AM PST

I've recently picked up a 3090 founders edition to replace my old GPU, but also to mine away whilst I'm not gaming.

However, with AfterBurner, I can't get above 102MH/s.

I see some posts where people are getting north of 120MH/s with the founders by boosting the mem clock, however, any increase to the memory clock reduce the hash rate in my case.

I'm aware of the memory temp throttling so am using HWinfo to monitor the temps (memory junction) to keep it below 100c, but it doesn't make a difference.

So far the only improvement I've achieved is running the power limit at 80% to get a 367KH/W ratio.

    Any suggestions?

Question about mining with Nvidia and AMD cards in same rig

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 08:22 PM PST

Hi all, the title pretty much says it all. Currently I use my PC when i'm not gaming to mine with my 1080 TI. I was wondering if it were possible to add in another card, like say a 5700 XT (or any AMD card for that matter) and use both of them to mine on, or would I have to buy another Nvidia card? I've tried searching around and have only gotten mixed answers so far, and want to make sure there wont be any kind of driver conflicts or anything before I purchase another card. If anyone has any experience with this please let me know, and if this is an obvious question I apologize. I'm new to this and i've tried searching around with varying/uncomfirmed answers. Thanks in advance!
