When is it wort solomining small alt coins

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 05:23 AM PST

So I was wondering at what point is it more profitable to mine on your own rather than mining to a pool. In my instance i have about 0.7 GH/S and mining Coinflux, and was wondering when solo mining could be advised and what the downsides of it would be. Thankful for any replies <3 !

    2070S OC SETTINGS

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 08:46 AM PST

Hey guys, I just started mining with my EVGA 2070S XC ULTRA

After messing with the OC settings (I am getting 44.60 MH/s 115W 55c)

I copied whattomine and did 0/+500/70%

Before I had tried what someone else recommended here and did -150/+600/70% and got 46 MH/s 136W 63c

I felt the W were to high for such a small increase in hashing power!

I'm currently using trex and using the ethermine pool

Just wondering if anyone else could share there hashrates with the 2070S and what your OC settings are?

    Am I doing good? Thanks!

Why the hell are people buying 3060 cards for $1k?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 08:44 AM PST

My local retailers put the card up for $1k on release (eastern europe) and they sold out within 2-3 hours of being put up. Now people here are buying them for $1.1k-1.2k from scalpers on marketplaces, and I see the same is happening on ebay. I know the 3060 is great for mining despite nvidia's anti-crypto fluff, but how on earth is the card trading at this price?

Is the 3060 really worth $1k for mining right now??

Placed a large GPU order from JAN 15th..What are the odds we might actually see them ship out this month?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 08:15 AM PST

    Hi everyone,

I've placed a 100 GPU order back on Jan 15 with gigabyte for the 3060 TIs. Any chance we'll see them ship out this month, or should we expect delayed even further out this year?

Does anyone have any insight if orders are actually going out?

Unable to access bios after installing hiveOS?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 08:10 AM PST

I'm trying to update my bios settings to configure multiple GPUs on my machine. It current only reads 3 out of the 4 cards and all the cards are functional.

I'm running an Asus z270-A motherboard but after the initial setup I'm no longer able to access bios again and I think it's failing to boot? Anybody have any idea as to why this is and how I can resolve this?

    Thanks in advanced.

Can you guys show me pictures of your 3090 FE repads?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 07:57 PM PST

I've attempted to repad about 4 times now with 0 change and idk what to do anymore except follow one of your examples to the T. I've seen people post them before but I've lost track of them, if we could re aggregate them here that'd be a nice resource for me and others hopefully. Thanks in advance

Is my Z390 motherboard suitable for RTX 3080 & RTX 3090?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 05:25 AM PST

I'm waiting to receive a new PC from Box and their build team has suggested that I won't be able to use multiple GPUs in the case due to space. I would usually go on the advice of their 'experts' but they were wrong about multiple other questions I had for them in an earlier email.

Case - Aerocool Quartz Eclipse ARGB Tempered Glass Mid Tower Case - Black

    CPU - i5-9600K

MOBO - MSI Z390 Gaming Edge Ac

    3 x PCI-E x 16

    3 x PCI-E x 1

    3080 slot size = 2.7

    3090 slot size = 3

PSU - I've got Corsair ATX modular 1200W on standby.

    What size PSU for 6 - 5600xt’s?

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 05:00 AM PST

New to the mining game but I picked up 12 - RX 5600 xt's over the weekend. Plan is to build 2 - 6 card rigs using z730's and Windows OS. The 5600's are not as power hungry as some so can I get away with a EVGA 850 for each rig or should I get larger ones?

    3060 hashrate limiter cheat

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 04:08 AM PST

I have read that just a minute or two after starting, the hash rate has dropped from 41.5 MH/s to 26-24 MH/s. Knowing this couldn't then be possible to implement some algo into mining software to make a short pause when mining with 3060 to cheat on hashrate limiter ?

    100mh/s where to now

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 03:17 AM PST

Hi all, as a lot of people have been doing recently I've turned my rtx3080 gaming rig into a mining rig, I have a 3080 Vision OC and I'm able to hit 101.9mh/s pretty comfortably after playing around with some settings in MSI Afterburner.

Settings are as follows: Power limit:70% Core Clock:-160 Memory Clock is maxed out at: 1500mhz Fan Speed: 70-80%

So my question is where can I see any additional gains/reliability while keeping my hashrate, I'm achieving this without the use of new thermal pads, just using the stock ones Rn but it maybe be worthwhile to upgrade them, my gpu temp is sitting right around 47 degrees and gpu mem is about 100-103. Interested in hearing your thoughts!

Will 8GB GPU miners become obsolete?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 07:40 PM PST

Will 8gb GPU's become obsolete in the near future?

I have the opportunity to buy 2 GPU miners, with the following specs:

    1) 5x5700xt 8gb mining rig, 1600 evga platinum power supply, biostar 250+ mining motherboard, Pentium g4400 processor, 128SSD (for 7000$ CAD)

    2) GPUs: 2 rtx 3060ti, 2 GTX 1070, 1 GTX 1080, 1rx 590

All cards are 8gb variants the rig gets 260mh making 0.02eth a day.

Other parts: EVGA 850w and 750w psus, 6 usb PCIe risers 250gb SSD, MSI z390 a pro mobo, and rig frame. (for 6000$ CAD)

My concern is if they are going to become obsolete miners in the near future? At the time of writing, I see the DAG size as 4.1. Just wondering when it would hit 8?

Any insight is appreciated - new to mining and would love any advice.

MinerWranger - mining and overclocking on Linux HEADLESSLY with NVIDIA GPUs.

    Posted: 28 Feb 2021 02:03 PM PST

Introducing MinerWrangler, an open-source bundle of shell scrips to mine headlessly with Ubuntu server. It also supports overclocking.

Here is the project on GitHub:

    https://github.com/NikolaiTeslovich/minerwrangler

For the past couple of months, I've been trying to figure out how to get mining on Linux to work headlessly, and have the GPUs be overclockable. MinerWrangler is what I've come up with.

If you enjoy or end up using this project, please give it a star on GitHub.
