What does the future hold for Litecoin?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2021 06:39 AM PST

In today's climate it is seemingly likely to be surpassed by a meme dog coin.

Bitcoin fees are high and whilst its Lightning network is still in infancy, one would think we should be surpassing our ATH ($375). Instead we need a doubling in price whilst the majority of other top 10 coins have already surpassed their ATH's in dollar terms and hitting ATH's with their Litecoin pairs..

Why? I don't have a clue. Let's compare to other top 10 coins and why I believe Litecoin is heavily undervalued:

    1. In top 3 comparable coins with highest consistent 24h volume.

    2. In top 3 comparable coins with best infrastructure (ATM's/exchanges etc).

    3. History - one of the longest and secure chains, created in 2011.

    4. Development - Imminent release of the MimbleWimble benefiting from greatly enhanced privacy and fungibility etc.

    5. Number of dormant addresses holding Litecoin is going parabolic.

    6. Litecoin is one of the most widely accepted cryptocurrencies, and more than 2,000 merchants and stores now accept LTC across the globe.

    7. Digital silver narrative - as Bitcoin is increasing showing itself as a global store of value, a 'gold in cyber space'. It helps deliver a core message.

    8. Litecoin is secured by incredibly strong cryptographic defenses — making it practically impossible to crack.

    9. No risk of creator selling their original coins compared to Bitcoin (this has already happened in the past).

    10. Max supply of 84 million coins.

Finally I want to say Litecoin knows what it is, it isn't a Bitcoin wanna be, it's not trying to convince everyone its the next big thing. This is largely attributed to its simplicity and clear utility benefits to be a "lite version of Bitcoin," in that it features many of the same properties as Bitcoin—albeit suited for micro-transactions and point-of-sale payments.

Can we get Coinbase to fix this? It might seem silly or petty to care about but it’s honestly annoying as hell to see every time I open the app

Trying to send coins to my Ledger wallet from Litecoin core wallet, but the Pay To bar stays red.

Do I need to download a newer version of the wallet?

The Ledger has the Litecoin app installed and ready to go.

MWEB and 'The Battle for Sound Money' - The Litecoin Foundation

Ever wondered about MWEB (Mimblewimble) and the who, what why? A big thanks to AI for this piece.

As developer David Burkett reaches the final phases of development of Litecoin's Mimblewimble Extension Block (MWEB) upgrade, it's a good time to remind ourselves of what this technology is trying to accomplish and why we need it. Long Term Investment Strategy

    Posted: 07 Feb 2021 07:48 PM PST

Coinbase allows for a recurring automatic purchase of LTC or deposits of USD. I would like to reduce any temptations I might have to sell assets held for less than a year.

Would buying one or two litecoins a month and moving them into a hardware wallet every quarter be a stable long term holding, hodl, strategy?

I'm thinking the alternative would be to set aside 1 or 2 litecoins worth of money each month, into the coinbase account, and then create limit orders every 60 days with a desirable reachable price.

I tried searching around, but was unable to find a similar question or answer that might help.

    Thanks

    What is litecoin?

    Posted: 07 Feb 2021 03:21 AM PST

So right now many of you have seen that I plan on donating litecoin to a select list of charities. The first one to send me their address will receive it this month and probably the next will receive a donation next month.

I received an excellent question in response: What exactly is litecoin?

I need to reply with an answer that is:

    Reasonably short.

Understandable to someone who does not work in technology.

Makes him feel reasonably safe that he is not destroying his computer.

Makes him feel that it may be useful to be involved in this project.

Then I need to translate it into our local language.

Does anyone have a good response in English?

    Corporations and Litecoin

    Posted: 06 Feb 2021 02:37 PM PST

There's been a lot of news lately regarding Bitcoin being purchased and held on the balance sheets of large corporations (mass mutual, microstrategy, etc)

Is Litecoin also being bought by corporations? If not, is there any evidence things are trending that way?
